in regards to that Berserk image, because the relationship with a dude called Nishiki and Kiryu (the protagonist) is comparable to the camaraderie, loyalty and love that Guts and Griffith have during the nice parts of the Golden Age arc, it even has a part where Kyriu tries to leave and Nishiki does his best to stop him.
In regards to gameplay, it just a really good 3d beat em up, comparing it again to Berserk, Kiryu is to yakuzas, drunkards, thugs and assasins what Guts is to bandits, soldiers and pretty much any human that tries to fight him.

I guess it depends on the specific ruleset of the undead in the universe of the game/book/wha-have-you. I just know that western fantasy zombies are almost always without their original souls, and are instead controlled by a demon force (think like the Doom games, except fantasy) and skeletons largely get the same deal.

I don't mind giving hard choices and if done right, it can be pretty engaging but a lot of DMs throw really arbitary ones at me and scold me for making the "wrong" choice even though a paladin only really falls if they do something outright ammoral on purpose, not if they were forced into a harsh decision.

True wizards aren't Player Characters and should be relegated to being NPCs to maintain the aura of mystery, and the perception of possessing cosmic powers. My favorite type of Paladins to play are ones that are fairly bitter and been through a lot, seen the worst of people but still attempt to do good and do the right thing in the end. They know they're not going to really change anything at large or that efforts will all be pointless but they still try. Knights in sour armor are one of my favorite types.

Original setting, the DM just used a "holy light" sort of thing but wrote up a bunch of tenants that followers were expected to abide by if they wanted to call upon its power. "Do good" was pretty easily stretched to "orgasm provider and economic motivator" by saying my cowardly yet still noble paladin had a huge dick and came from a wealthy family with money to burn.

Both of these are as much wizards, and as dedicated to seeking that fantastic, impossible, reality-defying power regardless of their actual use of it.
A wizard sees the world and refuses to accept his own flesh as the sole way to grasp the stalk and separate the chaff. They may all range from vile megalomaniacs bent on twisting reality to their plaything down to the truly wise who use magic as a gentle finger on the fulcrum of a scale, just slightly tipping events how they must be tipped. You are an absolute fool to think either has not or must not live a life in pursuit of ambition, sacrifice(1d4 hitdice) and determination to achieve their set goal. A wizard has no need for a humble life because by the very nature of grasping the arcane they cannot accept the reasoning of a peasant: to simply live within normal means.

Because bad DMs like to find ways to screw over players and Paladins are seemingly a easy way to do so. Even though to actually fall, Paladins need to go out of their way to break their tenant. In fact there's a prestige class for Paladins (I think Clerics too) called the Grey Guard that allowed Paladins to do more loose moral methods while still serving their god. If they have to jump some demonic cultist in a seedy alley and shank the fucker, they will. One of the abilities even show their god approves of what they're doing even if they're being ruthless about it.
