The originals, on the original hardware, in Japanese, during the year of their respective release date.

No.

Hey, you asked.

No, the only way to play is repeatedly an hero until you get re-incarnated as Japanese, and then do it on the original hardware in Japanese.

PS1 Origins for FFI and II, original Famicom for III (because III has no better alternatives).

I & II - PSP
III - NES

don't even bother playing 2. It isn't worth it

Final Fantasy 1 & 2: Dawn of Souls (GBA)
Final Fantasy 3 & 4 (DS Remakes)
Final Fantasy V & VI Advance (GBA)
Final Fantasy VII (Steam version so you can mod the shit out of it)
Final Fantasy VIII Remastered (Preferably on PC as well)
Final Fantasy IX Remastered (Whatever console it's on)
Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (Don't really play X-2)
Final Fantasy XI on PS2 or an emulator if you don't mind dead servers
Final Fantasy XII The Zodiac Age or International Zodiac System for your PS2 or emulator if you cannot afford the Zodiac Age
Final Fantasy XIV Shadowbringers: Collector's Edition
Final Fantasy XV: Royal Edition (Or just don't play it it's shit anyways)

I feel like i am missing something but can't tell what, must be my brain

You couldn't actually know if that's the best way to have played it for the first time, since you can only play it for the first time once and experience only that one version of playing it for the first time.

Android/iOS

FF1 Dawn of Souls with the hardtype game hack. Game is actually challenging, and makes you chosed based on role & utility for classes- consumables will be used often, as will flee- pick fights carefuly.

>telling someone to not play the game with literally the greatest combat system in the entire franchise
whats the matter, faggot? to much muhdollydressup for you?

Depends on what you're looking for with I
NES original is much more challenging, but also more slow paced as well. Dawn of Souls version is much faster and easier, but I hate how they did away with spell charges while leaving the high encounter rates in place. Still, it'll let you play around with the various classes a lot more than the original because of the lower difficulty

Don't play II, there's nothing of value there

III I only played the DS version of and I had a blast with it, great game.

That's why you play Origins for PS1. Keeps the NES format but with some rebalances and bug fixes, plus you can go to Easy mode if you want things like MP instead of charges.

I hope for your own sake that you pirated all those

>III - NES
>move items around in battle
>finish the game in 6 minutes
yeah no that version is shit

FF1 and 2 on the PSP for sure. I played FF3 on the DS, but this has 3D graphics, so that might not be what you want.

Does that version have individual spells limit which classes they're available to, or can all spells within a certain branch and level be used by the classes that can access those branches and levels?

Been playing Dawn of Souls lately and have been annoyed how Red Mage can't use party healing spells even though it can use other spells of the same level

>he can't afford to spend $250-$300 on games over a 10 year period

Attached: giphy[1].gif (360x360, 3.65M)

>FF1 and 2 on the PSP for sure
The PSP games are literally the GBA version, which are permanently locked to the Easy mode from Origins.

It's always been a thing in FFI.

1 and 2 had great decent psp version

The only thing the difficulty changes is how long you have to grind before heading to the cave with the crown in it. Unless you intentionally gimp yourself with a shit party of four Black Mages or whatever, Final Fantasy I is piss-easy after the first couple hours no matter what setting it's on.

>he's spending 300$ on thin air

DS version then inb4 no

>>move items around in battle
>>finish the game in 6 minutes
literally what is the negative part here?

>he still lives at home with mommy and daddy and hasn't had to move all his games out of their basement yet
Get back to me when you spend 6+ hours packing and moving a bunch of games you won't ever play again just to realize you might as well keep em in a box in storage because no one gives a shit about your video game collection after 15.

1 and 2 are best played with the PSP versions. Emulate them with PPSSPP so you can set up a speed-up toggle and minimize grinding, if you so choose. Has all the content of the GBA versions. If you want the old MP system, play the PS1 versions.

FF3 is best on steam, using a mod to adjust the sizes of menus so they're not for touchscreens.

>1, 2
Origins on PS1, disregard everything else as they change core game mechanics and add out of place filler.
Also disregard people who tell you to not play 2.
>3
PSP remake if the NES original is too retro for you.

>I-I-I can't afford a home with space for my things
>better get ride of it and live in mr shrekelburgs mini home for cheap

1: PSP (thoug I adve to skip)
2: PSP ( stogly recommend to skip)
3: DS

The first is basically a dungeon crawler. Story is a means to an end so you can dungeon crawl.
The secobd is absolute dogshit. People always go on about the "leveling" system, which makes it really harr to determine whether you are underleveled or you happened upon a section you are not yet meant to do. It also has dog shit story pacing with ridicolous amounts of backtracking.

>he thinks its about space for my things and not how incredibly childish having a bunch of video games around the house looks
i bet you're the kind of faggot that collects anime figures and waifus too, aren't ya?

>IX
>not the PC version so you can get the higher res backgrounds mod
>X/X-2
>the godawful "HD" port instead of playing the original at 4k on pcsx2
>XI
>PS2 or emulator
Are you clinically retarded?

>dumbasses falling for the "2 is bad" meme.
Play it on PSP.

>I literally can't live without garnering appeal from normalfags
ok

I've beaten it three times and it's fucking terrible. I appreciate the ambition, which is why I gave it so many tries, but it was just a complete mess in execution.

>he thinks it's about garnering appeal instead of realizing that tying your entire persona to a single hobby like video gaming is unhealthy as fuck
get back to me when your entire life doesnt revolve around games and anime. although i guess i'd be waiting for eternity at that point.

You really need to work on your self-esteem, brah.

>He is literally, literally incapable of having more the one hobby
Okay champ, we get it, you "win" now slink back to whatever hugbox you came from

my self esteem skyrocketed once i realized how unhealthy it was to obsess over a single hobby like captain clownpants back here talking about how he's mature for showing his video games off to his mommy and daddy.

Best place to do so?

Imagine thinking your life should revolve around roasties and wageslaving.

>No XIII
Based as fuck

For 3 and 4, you'll want either the custom undub DS remakes or you can get the PC versions. The PC version of 4 can be modded nicely for instance. I think the PC versions of both have a little more refinement and content vs DS.

i always forget that Yea Forums is just a bunch of angry and bitter 14 year olds that hate the world. threads like this are a great reminder of how pathetic the lot of you are.

>III DS
>undub
I don't recall any voice acting being in the game

>suddenly resorting to childish insults
adorable champ
mom and dad must love their "mature" child

Definatley not the mobile shit.

>2 isn't his favorite Final Fantasy
What's it like to not be a chad?

>literally insulted me for spending $300 on "air"
>is now crying like the little bitch he is when i insult him
aww whats the matter champ, did someone say something that hurt your fefes?

ff1-3 are fucking terrible no matter how much glitter you apply on top of them, pick your poison.

This is mostly correct
V needs a patch on the GBA for sound
IV gba is a decent alternative, the psp is decent too if only because it comes with TAY (which is shit)
IX play on steam
X/X-2 play on steam. X gets cheats on pc to help with the shittiness that is mid-game X
Non-mainline:
Play the ps1 version of Tactics
Play tactics advance, skip A2
Wait for the remake of chrystal chronicles
Skip everything else chrystal chronicles
Play Dissidia 012
Play Dissidia NT on Youtube
Don't touch XII - DS with a 10 foot pole
Play all the VII side games, but play them as if they are stand-alone games
Don't fucking touch any of the gachas. Story is shit in all of them, and you're WAY too behind in all of them
I'm missing a few, but they're probably not worth it

Literally google the .apk, and if the site looks shady it probably is

WotL > FFT PS1 in every single way.

4's worse than 3, fight me.

Attached: bitch.png (823x543, 427K)

>V needs a patch on the GBA for sound
And even then it still sounds shitty.

hows Mobile WotL? is it better than the psp version? Thought about pirating 7 and 9 too

XIII's alright

Ah but that's what they want you to think, when in fact the sites that don't look shady are the shadiest

They removed the multi-player and with it the massive amounts of lag that persist in every single battle when you use any spells or attacks with non-standard animations.

Other than that it's the same as the PSP version. So it basically plays like the PSP version with the slow-down fix patched in.

I've replayed III plenty of times and I have no idea what you're talking about.

>Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster (Don't really play X-2)
Why would you EVER?

Nasir was a bad programmer.

Trainers lets me skip the chocobo racing

>2019
>still no model swap mod
Also the remastered OST is probably the best thing about it.

You can force the game to give you onion armor at the very start.

I swear by the famicom version of FF3. The game is easy to overlook because if you haven't ever played FF3 you assume it's like " a little FF2 and a little FF4", but you'd be wrong. FF3 feels almost like a Dragon Quest game and its transform gimmicks to enter certain areas are super neat and unique exclusively to that game. Also, the soundtrack is incredible.

It's the best version of the game, but don't play it on your phone. The UI wasn't designed for touch controls, and trying to navigate those tiny menus on a small screen is frustrating as hell. If you've got a tablet or an android emulator, that'll suit you better.

Fucking stupid retard frogposter. This is why everyone makes fun of you.

all of them are best on pc
