Mario's cappy throw in Odyssey is actually way better than a double jump. It reaches the combined height of a double jump using many different movements. It makes it so when you try to correct a bad jump, it comes from skill rather than just having an outright overpowered jumping ability. It's also more fun because it focuses a lot of the mechanics on jumping rather than you just press the button once or twice and land. This is why I want an Odyssey two because cappy makes it a ton of fun to move around in general.
