Actually, you get rewarded for doing well since having a challenge is more fun

Zombies becoming bullet sponges and ammo spawns being removed isnt my idea of fun but ok.

You can mitigate this by playing hardcore which sets the difficulty no matter what you do, git gud lol.

Hordes of enemies with that go down realistically is way more fun and just as "hard" as a few enemies that just take an absurd amount of dammage to take down with no since of logic.

This is also why Resident Evil 5 has the best combat of the entire series.
