Make the perfect handheld
Would it and the Megaman X remake sold better if Capcom waited a few years for the 3DS?
It sold 82 million units, lifetime.
That's pretty damn good for a non-nintendo handheld.
For comparison, the PS4 only just this year passed the 100-mill sales mark, and the GameGear, the go-to example of "The Best Handheld not made by Nintendo" only sold about 10 million.
The PSP had a damn good run. It's not it's fault the competition was the Nintendo Best Selling Handheld Of All Time DS
this
thank you friend
I also consider it to have a fairly weak library, I spent most of the time playing PS1 classics and the the only PSP games I really played were Persona ports and Metal Gear Solid Acid/Peacewalker
>make the perfect handheld
It also cost dramatically more than a DS and tried too hard to shill "home console, but on the go" games when the chipset and controls just weren't on par with home console contemporaries.
I love mine, but it took me a while to appreciate it and get exposed to the actual gems of its library.
Should've just built it around MiniDisc instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, since MD was actually popular in Japan and a modest success in Europe and they still had the tooling to make MD drives.
Honestly this. It still has the best Dpad and it can do anything the psp could plus more. A shame it was left for dead so fucking fast.
That's where you're horribly wrong.
PSP had the greatest library of games out of any handheld. Shit was doing the port meme long before the Switch did in terms of actually great ports and compilations.
>Perfect handheld
It's impossible because it will never be greater than consoles.
Hardware sales alone aren't that encouraging though since everyone just bought them to steal games.
didnt lose. every rich kid had one
