I think people MASSIVELY OVERESTIMATED just how many people gave a fuck about this game and the supposed "cult following" it had.

The first DaS port was a piece of shit but every other Fromsoft port has been 60 FPS, including DaS remastered.

Because they're fun. Also, considering that the average game journalist couldn't finish a ham sandwich, let alone a game with anything approaching challenge, I'm reluctant to trust their definition of "cumbersome and outdated".

I love its wacky, tacky traditional game design approach. it feels like a simplified Mech Warrior that doesn't take itself too seriously with Lylat Wars, Blast Corps, PN03 and Metal Slug if that makes any sense to you. Just great, unfiltered old-school run and gun fun.

Why do people talk about this game feeling archaic and jank as if From Software doesn't consistently put out the most archaic and jank games in the mainstream market outside Bethesda even today?

I am watching the developer play it on steam right now. It seems very low energy, much less than the trailers made it. Is the lack of sound and music during gameplay normal or something just happening because of steam stream?

Because it's okay now because people love Souls and their not Souls game to not complain.

But everything prior to Demon Souls is not okay in their eyes.

I forgot to add that the game might not be the 10/10 timeless classic like some people make it sound to be, but it is definitely at least a solid 8 just for the sheer arcade-like fun it oozes - which you simply don't see these days anymore.

a 5.5 score is just proof to me that whoever "reviewed" this game, does not actually like video games. it's the kind of subhuman who most likely gave TLOU and Nu-God of War a 10/10 for their mature and cinematic approach of video games pushing the medium as a form of mature art for mature "gamers" such as himself.

I played it on the OG xbox and other than the novelty of the characters and setting everything else around it is mediocre. If you find the humor amusing then you might get something out of it but if you don't you will probably hate it.
