Don't get me wrong, it's shitty that people who wanted a Steam release will have to wait an extra year or two, and Epic picking up crowdfunded games like this and Shenmue will probably hurt other campaigns, but you don't need to go as far as faking a video of him saying gamers should go in gas chambers. Besides, it's better than nothing
I'll have to check through the dev's previous announcements and interactions, but it seems like his language was used out of context in various places and Youtubr videos to make him look like he was actually being an asshole to his audience when he was most likely just trying to make a lighthearted announcement that it was going to the Epic Store instead.
I don't know if he's done that, but this article seems humorless to me.
