In a post-DMC5 world, what exactly does NG4 need to do in order to have an experience on par with, or even exceeding, that masterpiece?
In a post-DMC5 world, what exactly does NG4 need to do in order to have an experience on par with, or even exceeding...
A memorable villain.
On the fly weapon switching
This is the worst bait I've seen in my life.
>DMC5
>Masterpiece
This
OP is not even trying
Cope.
Be not shit like dmc5
Trust me, you don't want a photorealistic NG game
lmao
DMC5 is a good game, but it's far from being a masterpiece
big yike
In what universe is a campaign with the likes of V involved better than DMC3?
You and I both know it’s Sekiro it needs to beat, not DMC5
A man of learned culture.
The games' only point of comparison is being in the same ill-defined genre and don't attempt or achieve the same things, you might as well ask what NG4 has to do in a post-God of War world
People keep saying V is bad and I dint get it. He was poetry. His play style was unique and interesting. Why do so many people hate his gameplay?
Much more limited than Dante, which in fairness Nero is too
Because he's more limited than Dante. Nero has the benefit of meatier attacks and unique devil breakers, but V is just a fucking slog. It's irksome that money was put into perfecting him, when Nero has useless devil breakers as Rawhide, Helter Skelter, and the three clawed one; two of these become superannuated by Nero's arm, and Helter Skelter is only good with its charge attack. Dante is the ONLY perfect character in DMC5.
Weak bait. 4 is the best of the series.
ninja gaiden 2 needs a remake. but not with all the garbage that sigma 2 has. no, what this remake needs is to replace all non ninja enemies, with ninjas and tweak some level design. its a nearly perfect game, but fighting werewolves/demons/machines/skeletons etc sucks. chapter 7 is the best because its 90% ninja enemies. chapter 12 is very fun because its all ninjas while tearing through the mountains and village. the stairs in chapter 11 are memorable because cutting into human enemies makes for a much better spectacle, they react when you hit them, better hitstun and so on.
some extremely dickish level design, like the clocktower climb in chapter 8, and the water bombs in chapter 5 and 9 are pointless and only exist to waste time mashing b in the water. the water bombs right after the second zedonious fight, that seriously mustve been an error. that is so fucking bullshit, especially on higher difficulties where your health is melting away in the lava but if you touch a bomb, 70% health is gone. ninja gaiden 2 is by far the smoothest and most satisfying game to play, but a few odd design choices do hold it down.
Accurate enough.
In a universe where DMC3 doesn't have style switching or as much depth as DMC5.
Nobody was talking about depth, but since you brought it up, Nero also doesn't have style switching, and he takes up 1/3rd of the campaign. V doesn't have style switching, and he takes up 1/3rd of the campaign. Dante does, and he takes up 1/3rd. You know who solely runs DMC3's campaign? Dante.
In the vacuum of Bloody Palace? I'll take DMC5. Outside of that? No, DMC5 is not "ascended" in any regard.
>Nobody was talking about depth
Depth is the most important part of this genre.
>Nero also doesn't have style switching
Nero is a completely new character.
DMC5 has both Dante with the best arsenal in the franchise and Nero on top of that. Stop being intentionally retarded and keep up.
>when Nero has useless devil breakers as Rawhide, Helter Skelter
Why do people hate these? The Break Age for both are fucking amazing and Rawhide does basically give Nero another melee weapon.
>Depth is the most important part of this genre.
And you only get to use that depth for 1/3rd of the game. How are you misunderstanding the point here about the campaign of a video game?
>Nero is a completely new character.
Yes...and he doesn't have style switching, which you brought up as a positive. You don't get to double back.
I'm sorry but you're so fucking relentlessly retarded.
ty for your concession.
Despite all the wink-winks I hoped V would be his own character and not a Vergil. Once the reveal happened it all went to shit. Such a unique and interesting character swallowed by a generic cool edgy asshole who should've stayed dead after 2005.
>Oh shit, I can't dispute what he's saying
>I know, I'll just call him a retard
Congrats on losing the argument.
NG4 technically doesn't even need to be made since NGB is the perfect hack 'n slash action game.
Style switching was a mistake. It meant that cool styles like Quicksilver and Doppelgänger couldn't be in the game because all styles have to fit on the d-pad and it makes playing as Dante a nightmare because he has too much shit to manage.
The pot calling the kettle nigger i see
>it makes playing as Dante a nightmare because he has too much shit to manage
only if you have a tiny brain and shit APM, apply yourself shitter.
DMC3cucks everyone.
>All the styles have to fit on the D-pad
Double tap. Problem solved
Wish we could've had bottom right for Dante. It's Soul
Hopefully some future mod does it
>DMC5
>good
It just needs to be Ninja Gaiden Black with better camera and a lock on feature for dmc/bayo casuals.
it's too flashy, but it isn't like the hud we got is any better, DMC3 and 4's hud is so far the best
>A really good villain
>A really good story, if not going full crazy
>Enemies that are actually interesting AND demanding
>Bosses that are even more interesting AND demanding than the non-boss enemies
>A varied and fun arsenal of kenpo, weapons and more
>Good autolock
>Good camera
>Must be not limited to consoles only
>Must be not limited to consoles only
HAHAHHHAHAHHAAHHAAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
I'm sorry btw user
Based and baitpilled
Based.
If I beat MGR on revengeance difficulty, how hard is this game gonna be?
Much harder.
Neat, any advice for a first playthrough?
The biggest thing that I don't see people talk about is minding the dichotomy between stealth and action. Early on, with your lack of upgrades, moves, and prosthetics, it is incredibly difficult to manage groups of enemies if you run in like Dante. Pick your battles, and pick your stealth kills which can make the battles easier i.e. stealthing a bunch of foot soldiers so nobody interferes with you fighting the elite soldier.
DMC5 is the best DMC and one of the best action games ever made but NG Black/Sigma is at least as good, and beats it in out in ways like level design by a mile. They're both Top 5 though.
Even later NGs don't have good level design compared to Black/Sigma though, so I don't know if a 4 would. MUA3 while good is also mostly hallways. Does Nioh have good level design?
Braindead AI and obnoxious main characters apparently
open world with a bigger map than Wow?
