Having to use steam

>having to use steam
dropped.

>pay developer fuckloads of money to not release the game on steam
>the game still requires steam because your store is shit and doesn't have required functionality, which of course gives even more exposure to Steam's superiority
Tim btfo himself lmao

thought this was a PSVR exclusive?

>tfw the only pirate site to have it up is my least favorite one, rutranice try fbi
When will the GOOD pirate sites have it?

Happy now, Steamcucks? You got what you wanted.

You just cited the best pirate site.

I ran into the following release day problems with Tetris Effect:

1. Removed DS4/PS4 controller support, OK fine I will launch EGS through Steam as a "non-Steam game" as a workaround for Xinput emulation.
2. No Seated Game support in SteamVR. I can tell that it is configured as a standard standing/roomscale game because my chaperone stays triggered and my cameras come on. I literally can't see the game until I turn off the chaperone features and there is no "reset seated position" because the game is misconfigured.
3. After getting the chaperone disabled, which is 5 minutes of klutsing around just to get to the main menu, I can't find the recenter option on KB/M. Common keys (backspace, ESC, etc.) don't work and there's no entry for recentering on the controller config menu. Also, the Xinput emulation isn't working for some reason.
4. I restart the game to recenter the screen, which works. I go to the controller config to take the tutorials and all the tutorials are still strongly based around using (unsupported) gamepad inputs and not KB/M.

Refunded. That's too many release day problems.

why would i wanna play tetris in VR?

Because the game has a pretentious trailer and dude drugs lmao

THEY ALL SAW BLOCKS

Should have just released the game as a Steam exclusive instead if it's gonna require Steam to play either way.

>1. Removed DS4/PS4 controller support
You do realise that the Xbox controller is the official controller for WIndows gaming? The PS4 does not have native support on the OS.

>The PS4 does not have native support on the OS.
>plug in dualshock 4
>it just works
ok retard, maybe if you upgrade from windows 7

The PS4 controller is a DirectInput device. Windows is designed to use XInput and DirectInput is a deprecated API. There's a reason Xbox button prompts are the standard on PC games. You can't just use a PS4 controller in a game unless the game was specifically coded to use it, which something like Tetris Effect was not.

Winnie the Pooh

XInput supports only "next generation" controllers. This limits it basically to controllers for the Xbox 360 that also have Windows drivers. Legacy Windows controllers, joysticks and generalized haptic feedback devices are not supported.
XInput supports a maximum of four controllers at a time. This is an Xbox limit, carried over to Windows.
XInput does not support keyboards, mice, or mouse-type devices. While this mirrors Microsoft's recommendation not to use DirectInput with these devices, programmers can use DirectInput with these devices.
XInput supports maximum of 4 axes, 10 buttons, 2 triggers and 8-direction digital pad per controller, compared to DirectInput's support for 8 axes, 128 buttons, and full-range POV. (The number of axes, buttons and triggers XInput supports corresponds directly to the Xbox 360 controller.)

The PS4 controller is made in China, but what does that have to do with anything?

>Legacy Windows controllers, joysticks and generalized haptic feedback devices are not supported.
Well, yea. XInput basically fucked over everyone with an older controller because all the game devs began using 360 layouts. A lot of developers no longer allow button rebinding, instead presenting you with 360/XBO layout profiles.

I cant believe user is fucking dead

This is fucking pathetic. EGS is so shit their userbase still flocks to steam forums for support and discussion and now the games even require the steam api to run as well. How fucking pathetic LMAO

So where is it?

>Windows has to support something for it to work
Consoletards are fucking hilarious

>now the games even require the steam api to run as well.
Only if using a Vive.

A certain Slavic counterstrike forum has the files and the instructions to get around the egs check

That's the literal definition of native support. If Windows can't do something natively, it doesn't have native support.

>There's a reason Xbox button prompts are the standard on PC games.
Because you need to pay to include DS icons?

Oh really? You have to license the PlayStation icons?

*Also on PC

Doubt it, tons of indie games use them.

it's illegal to put squares, triangles, circles and crosses into games.

>Epic Games Store exclusive
that is a shame, i heard the yours forever song they put in it and thought it might be worth playing, but not with EGS attached

cringe. die

I’ve seen stupider things trademarked

Goes to show how little steam cares about epic that they're letting Timmy do this. Any other company would have told them to fuck off, obviously you can't piggyback off our VR framework.

>snoy
>exclusives
HAHAHAHAHAHSGDGDG FAGGOT

Imagine Steam pulling the plug on their VR framework for outsiders.

The game would be unplayable.

Fantastic, means I can pirate it even more guilt free than usual.

Thanks epiniggers.

>still no codex

That’d be the kind of scummy anti-consumer thing Epic would pull off.

>vr tetris
why?

What a fucking mess. Can we just go back to sweet days of physical distribution?
