Hello again, Barry
Why doesn't anybody talk about FFXV anymore?
FPBP, nothing more to see here
>watch as their personalities collided
You mean as their personalities collided with Noct's. You enjoy the bantz for like the first few hours and then you realize that none of the others converse among themselves even a fraction of the time they spend talking to Noctis. They're less of a group of """friends""" and more like AI bots that Noctis configured for companionship, like some shit out of Black Mirror. unironically would have been a kino plot twist considering Noct's past
atlus is legitimately autistic enough to avoid falling into this trap. this is the same studio that refuses to port p4g from the vita to the ps4 even though they'd make easy money by doing it. they're the same studio who thought it would be a good idea to make a japan-only xbox exclusive smt game.
I mean, when your friend is the prince of the kingdom you live in, youre probably gonna focus on his well being and friendship rather than your other friends. gladio doesn't care though. he shit talks noct all day. I think their friendship was realistic enough
No they're not. People said this about Square too back before they merged with Enix. The only thing you've proven in your post, and Atlus have proven, is that they make shit business decisions. But all roads lead to the same Rome and no company has ever managed to not go there.
If Atlus somehow managed to grow AND not turn into casualized oversimplified bullshit they would literally be the first company in all video game history to do so. Not one company in the history of any entertainment based media has ever managed to walk that line.
It's got nothing to do with Noctis's rank. You'd figure that the people brought together by the person they're closest to would eventually become chummy among themselves too, particularly if they end up associating with each other so frequently.
Of course, that doesn't always happen. It's not like you befriend all your coworkers because you see them everyday. There might have been actual character depth and development and a theme beyond the vague notion of "muh brotherhood" if the divisions between them were actually acknowledged and explored. but the game is trying very, very hard to convince you that these guys go way back and have a shitload of chemistry together that predates the start of the game so their supposed camaraderie just falls flat on its face. Each and every one of them is an awkward third wheeler in their own special way when it's not time for them to have their designated back-and-forth banter with Noctis.
