Is there any comfy mmo to play anons?

It's easier in ffxiv than other mmo's I have played. Just don't feel guilty about leaving free companies if you don't think it fits you.

FF14 is the worst if you're looking for friends/groups to play with.

It has guilds and inside that linkshells which are just private groups/channels.

Also being Jap as fuck it's filled primarily with weebs who are notoriously antisocial and antagonistic.

Also it's a pretty dead game contrary to the Shadowbringers spam.

City of Heroes, Star Wars Galaxies, Dark Age of Camelot, and Everquest 2.

Genre has been in a slump for years. Every "new mmorpg of the year" release has turned out to be shit or a quick cashgrab.
Nu-mmo(rpg's) are also pretty much single player experiences, casualized, streamlined and made to appeal to the average casual player. Tbh, I feel look coop multiplayer games encourage more social behaviour than most mmorpg's nowadays.

I just can't see how they could license all the collaborations given how "weird" jp companies are.
Also some of the stuff is rather, well, considered "unethical" so to say by the current western standards. You know what I mean, those people will throw a fit, it will be labelled as perverse, sexist or whatever buzzword they come up with nowadays. Even though they will never player the game.
I really do hope that they bring everything over, but I'm not optimistic.

This. It's not like old MMOs anymore. Thanks to DF and private chat channels players usually play alone or stick with their friends. You really have to try much harder to make friends in FFXIV or any MMO today so basically just join a free company and hope nobody totally ignores you when you say hello or ask to run a dungeon.

Modern mmos have hardest content. They casualized in some aspects like time investment. In lineage 2 you need ~7 months to level up character and drop rates are abysmal everyone use bots. And in L2 sieges you don't win because of skill, you win because of time investment.

Yeah but friend is not someone you just meet. You can have tons of those type of friends. But 99% will backpedal in extreme situation or unusual situation where you need some help. Is it common for FFXIV that people only help doing FATEs until they achieve gold rating and then just piss off?
Happened a few times today and sometimes the monster was kinda hard but ultimately it feels just bad having someone "leech" his portion of the reward and then just go do whatever

You can't make friends in modern MMOs since they are actually just linear online RPGs. Like FF, its casual linear trash which has no reason to make friends or play with others unless forced to.

FFXIV is super easy to make friends in, i'm a shy person, so it's a bit harder for me to make friends, but in FFXIV i'll have people randomly start conversations with me, or PM me, loads of people send out random Free company invites, so just join as many as you'd like and see if you fit in in any :>
