How accurate this list for 2019?
>Dwarf Fortress counts as an RPG but Mount and Blade doesn't
>no E.Y.E
>remembering Risen and Avernum while forgetting Gothic II and Geneforge
>Movie Effect 2
>#l00t 2
>Witcher 3
>FTL
>RPG
?
it says "pc gaming since 1873" how can you not trust their opinions?
>The worst port ever done is the best rpg of all time
a botched japanese game is still better than any wRPG, especially cRPGs
Why do people rate planescape so highly? It's got a good story but the actual gameplay of the infinity engine games is pretty bad. I thought PC was about games, not fucking novels?
I finished Deus Ex and VTMB
what other games are like it?
>titan quest and torshit 2 over diablo 2
BIG YIKES!
BG2, morrowind, and witcher 3 are in the top 10 as well so that's clearly not the case
System Shock 2
Arx Fatalis
Morrowind
Half of the list are adventure games or action/slashers.
>Skyrim, DS, Titan Quest, Diablos, Darkest Dungeon
>RPG
Dark Souls is a great game but I hardly consider it to an RPG. It's more like a 3D Castlevania, that is, an action-adventure game with stats and equipment.
All of those games are pretty good regardless. A good list of recommendations.
>NEO Scavenger
what in the fuck?
Do you guys think the pathfinder game gets in to the list
Pros
>good rpg system for autist
>fast paced combat
>interesting use of casters
>lots of contest
Cons
>cringe forced romances
>Darkest Dungeon
>Diablo 2
>Skyrim
>Dwarf Fortress
>FTL
Why are these games in a GOAT RPG list?
>castlevania
It's a 3D action RPG, with 3D action being much more important part than RPG.
>Recettear
RPG has lost all it's meaning at this point hasn't it
Those all look like Fantasy and Scifi rpgs.
I'm looking more for the ones set in urban settings
>Deus Ex
>Contemporary setting
Its a stretch but whatever.
There not many RPGs set in a modern setting, You could try Persona games but there a JRPG.
SMT in general are all urban but again, JRPG
Fabulous game once you get the gist of it (i.e. on your tenth or so try)
>That alluminium mantle you had to make from chips bags to avoid being microwaved to death
Yeah that's the only complete bs in an otherwise great game (combat, inventory and base management are truly top notch)
Yeah but its in metro cities and stuff.
Not in fantasy villages and whatever
