Highly enjoyed it, needed less cutscenes, fun for multiple runs and trying different gimmicks

>ps3 exclusive
Can you stop posting retro games ? You have you're own board

Fun game, good conclusion to the story, great multiplayer until y'know, FUCK KONAMI, bit heavy on the cutscenes, good TECHNOLOGY moments, FUCK KONAMI, all in all it was really rather good.

I really liked most of it, but it really didn't need that tailing mission in chapter 3.

I honestly think the awareness ring or whatever they called it was a great asset and just a really cool idea.

Really needs a port. Im not gonna watch the smoking install cutscenes again.

I find it a bit annoying that they added a bunch of tacticool shit and Snake's trademark gun in this game is the M4, but the game will fight the player if they god forbid want to actually use any of the lethal methods rather than just keep tranq darting their way through.

Best final boss fight of all time. Closure of decades worth of story in one battle.

Mediocre movie. By the way this thread belongs on Yea Forums OP

My fourth favorite game in the series. Great plot and amazing gameplay. Series should've ended here.

Severe lack of gameplay. Otherwise it was ok I guess. 7/10.

Terrible outside of the final battle, the improvements made to camaflogue and CQC, and some of the music. The game leads you by the nose every alternate step, hour long melodramatic cutscenes, completely dicked every plot point and character, the gun system belongs in an entirely different game, two rail shooter sections, and the entirety of act 3. There's so much more I'm probably forgetting.
I'll never understand how people could be excited for V after this absolute piece of shit. It's a complete failure in terms of gameplay and writing.

What the hell.
I thought people hate this game with a passion.

It has the best gameplay in the series, just not enough of it. So much TECHNOLOGY, so much attention to detail, I love it.

They patched it forever ago to where you could just do one big install and not have to do it every act.

It's retarded, but it's miles better than MGSV.

CAN SOMETHING BE GOOD EVEN IF NOBODY LIKES IT?

that steak bentley was 100% right in everything he said and that this video is a masterpiece
youtube.com/watch?v=93-_r0w7ykI

hoh fuck you are my brother

>I'll never understand how people could be excited for V after this absolute piece of shit
Ground Zeroes was very promising.
FUCK KONAMI

shit gameplay and retarded story

I played through it in one setting with my best friend when it came out.

So far its the only MGS I regret playing since it was a legitimately bad game. Bad and terribly gated enviroments paired with terribly gated gameplay.
Not to mention the story crossing from fun comic book tier into shit nonsense tier with all the nanomachine copouts.
And the ending was the biggest bullshit ever.

It really showed that Kojima only joined halfway through.
At least V was, despite being unfinished, at least a good game.

watched the entire thing in one sitting
kino video

To this day I still have no clue why I had to wait upwards of 15 minutes in loading screens between chapters.

It shouldn't have happened, there were a few good parts yes, but honestly they should've ended MGS with 3 and let Kojima move on to something else instead of having to make this mess.

It wasn't a normal loading screen, the game only installed one chapter at a time on the hard drive. Probably because of the 40GB PS3 that was out at the time.

i mean when he puts the protomen over any liquid scene and just lets the entire cutscene play out with the new music, the video goes from a 10/10 up to infinite spiral number/10. absolutely based, too bad he hasn't done anything since :(

I'd kill for him to do MGSV.

retarded plot but it has its moments
>First mission feels like a genuine warzone, Gekkos are cool
>Rex VS Ray fight
>"Fox--Die!" "Think again!"
>Fight with Ocelot at the end is kino

Some very cool things you could do with the Octo Camo and Metal Gear MK II but was sorely in need of more gameplay/vr missions

Metal gear Online 2 was fun as fuck, I'll never forget playing as Mei Ling and spamming the battleship bombardment.

Overall a very enjoyable game but the common criticisms cut deep.

Attached: nothideo.jpg (640x543, 121K)

in retrospect i think it was shit

The actual gameplay parts needed to be longer.

More than that, they needed to actually let you work with the mechanics that are actually in the game. Only the first two acts don't feel like gimmicky trash that actively tries to get you to do something other than the core gameplay.

There's a great game buried somewhere in MGS4, I really wish I could have played that game.

As long as a game has actual gameplay, having more cutscenes than gameplay doesn't make it a movie.

Movies: What remains of Edith Finch, Life is Strange, David Cage games etc.
Games with too many cutscenes: MGS series, Yakuza series, Uncharted series etc.

i don't think MGSV has enough quirky fun in it for a video of this kind to work. maybe a mgs retrospective or something?

I feel as though MGS4 and MGSV are two halves of a truly great game. If you combined MGS4's autistic attention to story detail and characterization with MGSV's attention to gameplay, theme and setting, then you'd basically have Metal Gear Solid 3

I feel that. I really hate how wasted the potential of the last 3 acts are. Eastern Europe is actually a great map and fun to explore, but it's wasted on a shitty tailing mission, a rail shooter, and a mediocre boss. Going back to Shadow Moses should have been a great nostalgia moment, but it was just full of dumb and gay dwarf gekkos, and even though they let you find the SOCOM, it's criminal that there was no FAMAS there. Also I really feel Snake's disappintment when Otacon tells him he doesn't actually have to go down through the commander's office and everything. I just wanted to see more of the place. Act 5 could have been a great stealth section starting with an underwater infiltration, but instead they went with those dumb man catapults and put all the guards on permanent caution.

I feel like just using the mechanics and assets from MGS4, but rearranging and tweaking some things you could really make one of the best games of all time.

When it happened to thrust gameplay upon you it was great. Story was heavy. I did enjoy the last part of the game, movie length cutscenes or not.

MGSV should have been the game to combine all the great elements that were spread out over the whole series into one perfect series finale, but instead it did fucking nothing.

It's unportable.

Big problem with shadow moses is that there are no human guards in it whatsoever and all you can really do is spam chaff grenades everywhere

I mean I guess it makes sense for there to be no guards there, but it still sucks. They should have just filled it with that Russian PMC with the soldiers all decked out in cold-weather gear.

What's frustrating is that it was in the perfect position to be exactly that game.
>tfw the final boss of MGSV could have been a hand-to-hand fight with young Solid Snake at the end of Operation Intrude, after the reveal of Venom being a clone body double
There's so much wasted potential in MGSV. The story, the characters, the setting, the time period, the setup to the rest of the series, fucking everything is just... wasted.

In general, I like it.
The ending COULD'VE been one of the best I've ever experienced.
Just make Snake pull the trigger and kill himself. Roll credits, no asspull Big Boss infodump. Would've easily been one of the most heavy, iconic, BEST endings.

If they really wanted to include the infodump, they could've made it just that they found files from Outer Haven, and they could've been read by Otacon or something.

To make it better, less cutscenes, less complex explanations, more gameplay (the gameplay that is there is really great).

Delete Vamp. Maybe even delete Rose.

Revamp Raiden's ending. Thankfully MGR:R redeemed his story.

DELETE JOHNNY.

Fucking hell, it still makes me sad to think about it. I remember playing it for the first time and every few minutes there was a fresh new disappointment waiting for me.

Yeah
>dude it's the 80s, the timeline where Big Boss does the most shit
>naahh dude let's not do ANYTHING with Big Boss

Me too, user. Me too. Everything past the hospital escape and rescuing Kaz was like this snowball of disappointment that just got bigger and bigger.

Vamp was fine, the only thing that REALLY pissed me off was Otacon just straight up telling you how to beat his boss fight, not even through a codec, just right out in the game with no option not to have it spoiled for you.

What the FUCK were they thinking with that one?

I don't know about rolling credits after he pulls the trigger, but I agree with the general sentiment.
Why is Shit Pissman even in this game. We need to watch a 15min cutscene of his wedding for what? The MGS1 babes didn't really serve a purpose either. There was like 30% too much exposition all around. Leave some of it a mystery ffs.
Needed more missions too.

Trying to make Johnny a serious character was probably one of the dumbest things in this entire franchise. Kojima really fucking needed Fukushima to reign him in.

I'd be okay with Johnny if it wasn't for that absolutely fucking TERRIBLE cutscene of him and Meryl fighting the FROGs. The shot where they're rolling across the floor in tandem firing their guns is the worst thing in the entire MGS series.

>1:00

Attached: 1557709245556.webm (640x360, 2.89M)

Controls fine. Characters were very annoying, and the story was fucking stupid. I do enjoy running around the Middle East and South America with Boktai 2's music blasting. Boss unit had cool fights, but their backstories were also god awful.

The entire epilogue/debriefing could have been cut without any repercussion for a much stronger (but depressing) ending.

Attached: 1438880592828.jpg (484x484, 170K)

Snake surviving MGS4 is the crowning moment of the whole series. It contrasts perfectly with how the Boss and Big Boss met their ends.

The Boss was willing to put the gun down, but only if ordered. Big Boss was his own man, but because he didn't want anything other than war in his life he became a monster. Solid Snake had the best of both of them, which is why he's able to retire as a true hero. This is one of the few themes that works across all six games, but not if Snake kills himself.

Good game but objectively bad also

I agree, however I'd take MGS4's annoying characters over MGSV's bland ones. I'm still in shock that they managed to make Revolver fucking Ocelot boring.

There were characters in MGS5? Could have fooled me.

I'm surprised they didn't stick with that writing ground in MGS1-3, but I don't think Fukushima was on the team.

At least there's Ghost Babel.

loved the first two chapters then it was shit. I hate these games where you have to fight bullet sponge robots or aliens it really shit

I got into Metal Gear with the Legacy Collection

So I was playing the entire series back-to-back
When it came to MGS4, obviously I knew it was a controversial title among fans, I knew the movie memes

But I absolutely loved it, every second
And when I played it over again a while later, I still loved it

And thinking back on it now, I still love it
MGS4 was a fitting and satisfying conclusion to the series, to the extent that when I finished MGS4, I almost stopped playing the series completely.
Even though I still had Peace Walker in the collection, I almost called it quits because MGS4 gave me such a strong feeling of completeness and resolution.
It took me an entire week to finally load up Peace Walker and I regret ever touching that shitheap

MGS4's got its issues
The Codec was sort of pointless as a mechanic
The pacing can be spotty
The Raging Raven fight kinda sucks

But everything else about the game is so damn good

The best sections are the ones where Kojima forgot to completely railroad the player into a glorified cutscene like the South American jungle section, the whole game should have been more like that.
Parts like Europe really hurts replayability (I should know since I played it like 15 times to get platinum when Konami dropped the anniversary update) but overall it's still a pretty neat game and I enjoyed it more than MGSV (which I bought on launch and have yet to "complete").

Attached: 1562633688139.png (392x489, 346K)

Try Portable Ops on an emulator. It's unironically a better story than Peace Walker.

It's worse when you realise that Johnny is ultimately a pretty bad guy. He takes part in two major hostage takings on Shadow Moses and the Big Shell, one of which's goal was to usher in global war and the other resulted in lower Manhattan getting flattened by Arsenal Gear. I get MGS has some plot fuckery but I don't even wanna know how Johnny rejoins the US Army after deserting.

The entire sequence of them holding off the Frogs should have been the whole Rat Patrol team holding them off. Maybe even have Johnny get killed amongst it with a few others if need be.

This was the #1 reason why I only played it once when it was released. The rerelease and subsequent patch with trophies for the original versions fix that and you can install the whole game into the HDD in one pass now.
I remember being so mad when I loaded a save from the previous chapter and the game went to that cigarette screen.

But that was pretty fucking great ,although my love for MGS4 is pretty irrational

Attached: 1393111456664.gif (256x144, 983K)

Ocelot was fun as fuck in this game. He really seemed like he was having a good time.

>THINK AGAIN

>I'll never understand how people could be excited for V after this absolute piece of shit
The trailers were just THAT good that you simply couldn't help but imagine the potential in it, especially with bits of teases here and there on Kojima's twitter and showcasing neat little things like looking at your companion and getting a little nod in return.
When you saw it you would probably jump to the conclusion that there would be a dynamic world that's full of life and not an empty sandbox

Attached: 1434518267602.jpg (1920x1080, 439K)

The trailers were better than the actual game, and it still hurts to imagine what could have been.

>I'm already a demon
>Does literally nothing bad for the entire game and good deal of the plot revolves around rescuing child soldiers

Wow, just look at that descent into hell.

Its so over-the-top ridiculous its great
>Ocelot fakes FOXDIE
>THINK AGAIN
>starts running like a clown while laughing into the sunset, boarding a giant fucking mt. Snakemore shipmarine while laughing at the horizon
And that's just one example

Attached: 1427917528592.webm (1280x720, 352K)

Especially since every Metal Gear Solid game up to that point had been chock full of that stuff (for better or for worse, depending on the game) and the trailers promised more of what made MGS unique, or what made people love MGS.
Then the game ended up being the blandest entry in the series. I still don't know how that happened, it seemed like such a sure thing.

>BEHOLD
>GUNS OF THE PATRIOTS
>Finger guns the shit out of the US Army

God damn. Playing as him online was also a fucking 10/10 experience.

After the shitshow that is MGSV, its far better than peoples make it out to be

The signs of greatness were there, the start with the airplane radio crash gave me goosebumps the first time, the whole hospital escape and it peaked with rescuing Kaz. After that it was just a straight plunge into the void with maybe a mission or two that were good

Attached: 1437608949477.jpg (442x740, 103K)

I hate that bait-and-switch they did in the one trailer where it's heavily implied that Venom was killing the child soldiers, but you get there in gameplay and he's just shooting a bucket.
>falling for trailer bait
Say what you will. Given the whole graphic bomb removal scene at the end of GZ, the red band trailers and the whole "if this goes wrong I'll be kicked out of the industry" implications by Kojima, you'd be forgiven for thinking he really was going to do some fucked up shit in MGSV

I'm really fucking regretting my words and deeds, that's for sure.

Shining Lights was the only point where I got interested in what was happening. Coincidentally, it's also the only time in the game where anyone seems to give a shit about what's happening.
Then right afterwards it's just another plunge into bland, vocal-chord parasite mediocrity.

what little gameplay it has is better than what MGSV have to offer
>can play dead
>can use disguise
>have actual boss fight
>10/10 original ost instead of licences music
>more diverse weapons instead of 3 basic rifle with minor differences
>codec instead of stupid tapes

kek
Fuck, this thread is making me sad. It's almost been four years since MGSV taught me a cruel lesson about buying into prerelease hype, but it still hurts to think about.

The biggest bait-and-switch of MGSV is
>men become demons
And then the game comes out and you collection Heroism points

For fuck's sake

Don't forget that the guns were all IRL guns and not frankensteined monsters designed to avoid copyright

>best gameplay in series
>least gameplay in series

>WOLBACHIA
>MALE TO FEMALE
>random retcons out of fucking nowhere

Attached: Reminder.png (906x173, 38K)

Literally the only way anyone will ever get enough demon points to get the big horn is by building nukes. Typical butthurt Jap shit.

>codec instead of stupid tapes
I actually didn't mind the tapes over the Codec in MGSV. It would have been a decent way to provide exposition while also covering ground (given that the game has so much ground to cover), but they went and fucked it up by having characters talk over whatever tape you had playing to tell you some inconsequential shit like there being an enemy outpost ahead or to GIT DOWN BOSS

Now that the dust has settled, what do you think of MPO?

Attached: psp_820.jpg (2462x1980, 1.65M)

there's more to gameplay than the controls, user.
level design is a huge part of gameplay, and that severely underwhelming in MGS5.

Damn, I remember being there when that was posted for the first time. What a rollercoaster of emotions those first days after release were.

Its not even that, there just weren't enough tapes, maybe a ~2h worth in total. You'd expect more since there were virtually no cutscenes.

those were the days

Attached: Hayt.webm (1000x563, 2.92M)

What did you guys think of the part where this starts playing
youtube.com/watch?v=6miaTf1gF4g

All right little game. Most busted weapon is the automatic sniper rifle. Don't even need to scope fire when you can use it like a machine gun.

Nostalgia and melancholy cause at the time you expected it to be the last entry in the series and you'd probably never enjoy another saga like it

Attached: 1411088200891.jpg (665x613, 68K)

4 is what happens when Kojima is surrounded by people who suck up to him and don't stop his autism. Fukushima was the co-writer MGS needed and everything after he left is a trash fire

I always got a kick out of the fact that you get a bunch of exposition tapes for the most important shit in the game seemingly at random. I remember just standing there on mother base listening to the Zero tapes. It was so anticlimactic, especially for a series that had never disappointed before when it came to the climax.

What happened to Fukushima anyway? Quit? Fired? Sent to another project?

They cucked my boy Solid
this wasn't okay what the fuck bros

God damn, MGSV pre/post-release memes were golden. Way better than the game itself for sure

I've enjoyed every MGS title (except for V), but I have to say, 4 is my favorite. Had the best online component and I replayed the campaign multiple times for all the extras, like the Big Boss mask.

>That one actually good cutscene where Venom forces a soldier to stab him and gives a speech about brotherhood or whatever
>You can only ever see it if you're a total fuckup who runs out of money

I never would have thought that after MGS4 I would want MORE cutscenes in an MGS game, but god damn I wanted to see some shit instead of hearing it on a tape.

Fukushima wrote a part of the codec dialogue which was confirmed by Kojima or the man himself. I may be nostalgic myself but the MGS2 dialogue was atrocious, 1 would've been if the localization team didn't take matters into their own hands. I do agree that Kojima simply should've been a visual director though

Attached: 1416363054802.jpg (600x450, 57K)

Yakuza'd
He did more than that

I played it about a year ago and never watched the cutscenes after the Liquid boxing match.
I simply don't care what happens to Snake.
I feel profoundly that the game didn't need to exist. Metal Gear Solid is good as an individual collection of stories and moments. It's not good as a whacky alternate world history or a chronology of Snake's life (and by that, I mean the concept of Snake including John/David/Jack), which MGS4 seems to think is what we care about.
The ways characters from forever ago simply reappear with new, improbable backstories to fill in the gaps is also embarrassing. You can absolutely feel the sheer priority Kojima placed on making sure the franchise had no future.
The fact a mind that could produce stories like MGS2 and MGS3 wasted 3 years making a game about "and here's what happened to Meryl.... and Naomi... and Eva..." is a profound misuse of talent

Please, no more

youtu.be/SSKXAavTLQI?t=245

>cucked
The guy saved the world, became the only Snake/Boss to understand and embody The Boss's will, had a 1v1 hand-to-hand showdown with his AND his father's rival, was accepted and forgiven by and was able to accept and forgive his villain father/mentor, AND got to put down his gun and walk away from war to a peaceful death unlike any other protagonist/villain in the entire series.
Solid Snake cucked everyone else, not the other way around.

Attached: 1515653189860.png (500x288, 232K)

Great game, clearing it with no alarms and no kills is pure fucking kino

>embody The Boss's will
the only person who did that to the bone was Venom Snake
Solid never accepted the Boss's ideals

>god damn I wanted to see some shit instead of hearing it on a tape.
My feelings regarding MSGV entirely

Attached: 1561590202247.gif (480x265, 3.62M)

I wish that chapters 3, 4 and 5 were more like chapter 1 and 2. Good MGS entry, I wish that they had just gone with psychic shit rather than NANOMACHINES for everything.

People talk about the improvements to stealth and combat but the problem with the game is the level design is fucking atrocious. Worst in the series by far. Especially in areas where rebels were fighting the PMCs, where you'd be spotted but the PMCs would be unable to do jack shit due to already fighting the rebels.

Have never had any drive to replay it. Watching Sonny slooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwllly walk up and down those stairs is enough to drive anyone to madness.

Fucking terrible, shat on MGS lore even harder than V did and while the mechanics were good the game didn't have any gameplay to support it. But at least it felt like a genuine sendoff to the series.

Both Venom/BB and Zero have a corrupted version of The Boss's will, that the entire conflict of BB and Zero. They both want fullfil The Boss will in their own way

>the only person who did that to the bone was Venom Snake
Please enlighten me as to how. I don't think Venom creating proto-Outer Heaven was in line with what The Boss wanted at all.

And he gave the women mustache rides. Truly, Snake was the best.

If you fight the PMCs, the rebels join and help you; they even give you items, it's how you get one of the MP3s.

Attached: 15809914-1544916337.png (2560x1440, 2.42M)

Great for Raiden's character

Not to mention, even when you do get spotted, there's usually so much chaos going on that it doesn't amount to much.

VS never undestood them either, SS and Otacon formed Philantrophy and their slogan was the perfect embodiment of the Boss' will which was to let the world be.

Attached: 1508540313192.jpg (1217x1721, 252K)

I hated that even if you're wearing the rebel disguises and the PMCs are in active combat with said rebels, they still pick Snake out as some kind of battlefield intruder that doesn't belong there.

>If you fight the PMCs, the rebels join and help you; they even give you items, it's how you get one of the MP3s.
MGS4: Tactical Espionage stealth vidya action!

There are actually stealthy non-lethal ways to help the rebels against the PMCs, like disabling their vehicles and shit.

This sort of shit is common in most stealth games. Guards are somehow psychic and can distinguish YOUR footsteps from those of their fellow patrolmen.

This is fantastic art. I wonder if there's a version around that has young Snake in the background with Old Snake in the foreground

The gameplay was decent, but the plot was stupid. I didn't like how all the cool mysticism and spiritual/paranormal stuff in the series was explained away with nanomachines and tech. I didn't like how they essentially had to info-bomb you in the Prague mission about MGS3, thinking so many people didn't play it already. I didn't like that Prague was wasted on a timed escort mission. I didn't like how much the cutscenes interrupted the gameplay so much. MGS1 had a great balance, MGS2 had a shit balance, MGS3 had a perfect balance, and then MGS4 went back to shit gameplay/cutscene balance. I didn't like how many goddamned guns were in the game. I don't need all that. I like a few signature weapons that accomplish particular tasks. (I don't need like 20 different pistols). I didn't like how much Solid's MGS2 characterization got gutted, and he turned into a Grunt-Machine, voice line wise. I didn't like how there was hardly any flavor codec calls. I didn't like Meryl looking like a Silverback Gorilla in her wedding dress. Beauty and the Beast background stories were also generic as fuck.

Things I did like:
>Soundtrack
>Costume Design
>level variety
>Oceliquid hamming it up like Cobra Commander
>MOUNT SNAKEMORE
>Rex vs Ray fight
>Octa-Camo system (improvement over MGS3's camo system)
>Sunny
>Metal Gear Mk2
>Actually made Raiden a bit more interesting, even if they did essentially make him Naruto/Sasuke, King of Cyber Ninjas.
>Big Boss ending actually has some weight.

Overall, MGS4's story is fucking dumb, but it has some solid emotional moments and direction, interesting gameplay, and definitely feel like a proper MGS game should.

Originally, I rated it as the worst MGS title.

Now I rate it more like this:

MGS1 > MGS3 > MGS2 > GZ > MGS4 > PW > MGS5 (half of a game, so not sure where to put it)

I enjoyed it, there are waaay too many cinematics and it's definitely a movie-game but the small amount of gameplay parts are fun as fuck especially the first two chapters.
The final fight going through all the games as you fight liquid-Ocelot was based as fuck.

Just make it yourself, get Shinkawa's artbook torrents and photoshop it

Attached: 1456865850534.gif (245x245, 1.55M)

not the Boss's will but he only had undying loyalty to Big Boss and his ideals until the end, leaving behind who ever he was in his past and being forced to embrace his new identity before dying alone and forgotten like a tool to be used and discarded unlike the Boss who died to stop nuclear war, Venom died to cover the real BB's ass, if only TPP was handled better
youtube.com/watch?v=2zGJkl8KG7c
he had a good song too desu

I'm clinically retarded when it comes to art, unfortunately. Would be cool though

I really liked Drebin. Best new character. I'm actually sad we won't get a sequel to Rising, because he'd be perfect in it.

Attached: Drebin.jpg (1600x1200, 576K)

I agree with most of this, but
>I didn't like how many goddamned guns were in the game. I don't need all that.

What the hell kind of complaint is too much content? The worst thing about having all those guns is that they weren't usable online. The level of detail that went into each gun and it's animations and everything made my /k/ autism extremely happy.

The real pissoff is that the game constantly re-equips the standard pistol and M4 after every cutscene.

I really like his outfit. It's like the mullet of vidya costume design. Business up top, party on the bottom.

>not the Boss's will
The Boss's will and characters like Zero and Big Boss misunderstanding it is literally the foundation for the entire MGS saga. Only Solid Snake, whether aware of it or not, was truly in line with what The Boss wanted. And that makes him the best Snake

Despite all it's many problem I still love. Last MGS that felt like MGS. Where's my fucking 60 fps port?

Absolute kino.

That's just video games though. You can only program AI to ignore so much.

There are a lot of ways to approach a lot of the areas, actually. It's got a lot of sandbox elements you won't pick up or use during your 1st/2nd playthrough, but man, if they would've expanded upon it with V's gameplay, would have had the perfect stealth game.

this, literally fun and mystic character.

meant to quote and not myself.

If I remember right MGS4 did have a variable framerate. Playing it on an emulator should be able to get steady 60FPS.

MGSV is a good lesson that you should never assume that there's more beyond the trailers.

where u got this ayami kojima picture from?

>I didn't like how much Solid's MGS2 characterization got gutted
He got old, you can't expect a dying old man not to be jaded and bitter when everything he fought for was crashing around him while he was still being used as a tool.

I understand why people like tons of guns. But for me, having an iconic set of weapons makes things cooler.

I will always remember MGS1 for having the Famas, the Socom, the Nikita, ect. It added legends to the weapons. Kind of like when a movie makes a particular weapon famous.

But I also understand Solid Snake wouldn't give a fuck about that, and just sees weapons as tools to be used.

Attached: Blade Runner Blaster.jpg (660x445, 54K)

And boy did I learn that lesson.
I feel like I've never gotten hyped, REALLY hyped, for any game since

The previous 4 main entries were the exact opposite of it though so you can't blame me

Kojima's 2nd best 'fuck you' to MGS """fans""".
The 1st being MGSV.

Here's to you.

>At least there's Ghost Babel
Now THAT is a Metal Gear Solid game.
Fangame sequel to Ghost Babel exploring a version of the Patriots that's closer to the Syndicate from X-Files never ever? Pic related

Not just old, either. Artificially old, accelerating rapidly right during the prime of his life.

>Kojima's 2nd best 'fuck you' to MGS """fans""".
>not a love letter filled to the brim with easter eggs
I feel like there's a correlation to the people that hated 4 first played 3 and never 1 when it was released. You just don't understand

I get where you're coming from. I ended up just using the Operator and M4 for the whole game because of the aforementioned constant switching back to them after cutscenes, so they basically were the iconic guns for Old Snake anyway. Choice is always nice though, and other people could have their own preferred set of weapons.

What? The Boss didn't go to stop a nuclear war, she defected to volgin is just a ruse to steal the philosophers legacy. But her plan was ruined when Volgin launch a nuke to the russian facility. Her mission then changes to be an escape goat to the US government and and die as a traitor, but the irony is that being an traitor is the patriotic thing to do for your country.

>escape goat

That really wasn't her original mission. He's right, the mission changed when Volgin launched the nuke.

Worst MGS in the series

First two chapters are good, first chapter itself is fucking great, but from 3 onwards the game jumps off a fucking cliff head first onto a lake of shit.

good game, good movie, would play and watch again

Can you emulate PS3? I never look into it.

Yeah, PS3 and 360 both have emulators coming along nicely. I'm also looking forward to finally playing RDR1 at 60FPS without having to own an Xbone.

Pretty sure RDR1 is 30 locked, even on xbone x.

You can uncap the framerate by disabling Vsync. Saw a video about it a while ago.

This, she followed orders perfectly and knew that taking matters into your own hands would just shit up everything for everyone even more.

what the fuck are you talking about that's not true.
