Its actually the only game I have bought from GoG, rest of my shit is on steam.
David Sullivan
lmao is tim senile
this has been the case since the witcher 3
Jace Hernandez
Well no shit games>stores so why the fuck did the dipshit start a store and buy exclusivity instead of making games? idiot.
Austin Gomez
It's not only about the game, GOG also provides a completely DRM free experience which is an appeal of its own. A large consumer base wants that so they are enticed to use that store. If GOG didn't have that it'd straight up lose to Steam in a massive way and the only people who'd buy there would be those that wanted to support CDPR.
Of course Sweeney ignored all this like the massive cunt that he is.
Christian Hill
It's a matter of Games + Stores. Not either or.
If the game is good but the store you buy it from is shady as all fuck you will hesitate or downright avoid buying the game.
If the store is amazing but it no worth a shit games on you that you won't use the store anyway because why bother.
Epic is on the shit end of both those sticks.
Jayden Watson
does he not realise that people buy a game on GOG because they respect CDPR's business and DRM free games? does he think people should respect him and his shitty launcher the same way as convenient DDL's from a website?
Aiden Adams
CP or Witcher?
Nathaniel Smith
Is GOG paying third party devs to make their games exclusive to their service?
Brayden Campbell
So he admits that Steam has direct competition, and thus is not a monopoly.
Camden Turner
Epic doesn't have the respect or likability cdpr does.
Noah Murphy
(and Epic too)
Lol. No one's competing with Epic. Epic is in its own special retard race
Nathaniel Walker
Is Timmy getting desperate or something? Did he realize how much goodwill CDPR is getting so he's trying to always mention GOG in hopes of people thinking that because GOG GOOD Tim retweeting GOG also means that EGS GOOD?
Brody Howard
This, GOG is very consumer friendly and actually provides basic services like a rating system and shopping cart.
Grayson Lewis
gog also tries to stuff manuals, ost, and concept/artwork into older games if they can
Camden Powell
Only the diehard fans buy a pre-order this early, that's why I bought Witcher 3 on GOG back when it didn't even have a set launch date. those diehard fans will gladly support GOG by buying from their store. 1/3 this early is actually pretty bad when you think about it
Asher Murphy
GOG actually provides something a chunk of users want, which is DRM free downloads and/or easy compatibility for older games on new hardware .
Nobody ever said stores can’t exist and add value for gamers.
Grayson Bennett
please PLEASE delet this
Jeremiah Ramirez
China has been generous.
Leo Hill
Self publishing?
Holy shit someone call the patent office!
Joshua Jenkins
also cyberpunk is stil available on steam so people can decide their own instead of a company throwing money at the publsiher/dev to take that choice away
Luke Wright
His prophecy came true.
Ryder Rivera
I don't remember Tim ever saying Steam is a monpoly i'm pretty sure that is only said by Epicdrones
Gavin Perez
>Cyberpunk is on GOG and Steam
>Sells most through GOG because it's a good store
>Epic buys exclusives and sells nothing
Wow I sure hope he learns his lesson and buys off more kickstarters
Luke Stewart
What the fuck is timmy Tencent even going on about? Cyberpunk is being sold on both GoG and steam. GoG is also DRM free. People are happy to buy the game on GoG because people want CDPR to do well because people have goodwill towards them.Literally all his arguments fall apart because hes so retarded.
Grayson Edwards
GOG AND EPIC CHADS ASSEMBLE, ITS TIME TO KILL SOME STEAM DRONES..its time to go back....home
Tyler James
Except that GOG.com's main feature is that their games are completely launcher-free.
Wyatt Bennett
We don't know if it sells the most on gog. We know at least 1/3rd of the sales are through gog.
Half of the sales might be steam for all we know.
Landon Fisher
So epic drones can no longer claim this, since their overlord himself has debunked it.
Camden Stewart
But the game sold more on steam, I swear to god sweeney is on drugs all the fucking time.
Chase Garcia
This is (you)
Jace Turner
Good to see he's admitting games>stores, because that is one area steam is a lot better than epic. Steam has more games and Steam has better games.
Jaxson Evans
The steamdrones cope:
>exclusivity is bad
>non-first party exclusivity is bad
>third party exclusivity is ok as long as you buy the studio afterwards
>third party exclusivity is ok (as long as it's steam only)
>PAID exclusivity is bad even though its functionally the same as above
>exclusivity from steam is bad, because I'm a drone who refuses to use the windows store, or game pass, or Uplay, or humble where i can also buy these games
What will be next?
Jacob Butler
Notice how he neglected to say launcher.
Austin James
steam also has no drm for cd project red games
William Johnson
So does GoG actually go along with this or are they completely oblivious of Timmy here dragging them into his misguided revolution?
Owen Taylor
Steam is dying drone.
If 30% sold on GoG then if I had to hazard a guess around 50% sold on EGS with only 20% or less on Steam.
Henry Wilson
Keep using Steam and don't bring this shit here
John Lewis
I wonder why he's not boasting about his cyberpunk preorder numbers
John Cruz
>if I had to hazard a guess around 50% sold on EGS
(you)
Owen Diaz
steam does what nintendepicgamesstore
Mason Roberts
The biggest steam release of 2018 was fucking shadow of the tomb raider. every publisher left and the only thing on steam anymore is nipshit and indietrash
Jason Parker
The stores must be pretty fucking bad for CDPR's games to be better.
Jacob Morales
the most obvious bait ever seen
Julian Reed
literally this
Julian Gonzalez
>YOU SHOULD USE OUR STORE BECAUSE WE PAY DEVELOPERS MORE AND THIS TOTALLY AFFECTS YOU, THE CONSUMER
>MONEY PLEASE!
Brody Murphy
>50% sold on EGS
Sure thing chinkshill.
Mason Phillips
Mainly CP2077 and TW3 driving traffic to GOG.
Although TW3 is actually a decent game
Austin Hall
>helper48.png

Hunter Lee
>Although TW3 is actually a decent game
There's that bait. There it is.
Blake Jones
Who said anything about big releases? Steam still has better games than Epic. Doesn't matter how big or small, better games are better games
Christopher Robinson
They do what they always did, selling on their own store, Steam and the new store, which in the past was Origin.
Charles Walker
Exclusivity is fine as long as it wasn't the store's decision to make it exclusive.
Because it shows they weren't bribed or threatened. It was their choice and gives them leeway to go multiple platform without legal trouble.
Exclusivity is also fine if the game in question was funded and develop by first party devs to the storefront. Like what Valve does.
It's not fine when the game isn't funded nor made by the storefront but still bought up exclusivity. Especially when the game was announced to release on other storefronts before the acquisition. It's basically a hostile takeover.
Even worse is the acquisition of devs and publisher that already have games on other platforms and then have those games removed because they are no longer allowed to sell the game on multiple storefronts.
Nolan Gutierrez
GOG is not competing with steam, what a retarded statement
Ayden Ward
Why does everyone have such a boner for CDP. They only made 1 (one) good game.
Samuel Gomez
And patches that allow those older games to work with modern OS.
Ian Jackson
people have the choice to buy it on GOG
thats ignoring that its sold more on steam of course, tim is just retarded
Gabriel Myers
>Bait
Game didn’t win every award ever in 2015 for no reason. I’d actually like to hear why you think a game like TW3 is “bad”.
Joshua Cooper
Then go back to China, what the fuck are you doing here?
Isaac James
it's oddly neat to be able to start games without any launcher whatsoever. you can 'launch' a game out of its folder in steam, but steam will start and you'll have to wait 10 seconds for it to go through the login and startup loop for anything to happen.
Levi Rivera
Connor Edwards
>CD Projekt has its own launcher and they make all the money themselves
>This somehow justified my shitty practices and my own shitty launcher while ignoring the fact that CD Projekt's games have an enormous sales factor on steam
How much did Tim's brain overclocked with his billions of V-bucks?

He's the perfect example of a dictator. He tries with all his power to destroy the legit ruler. Doesn't admit when he does fuck up. Only repeats everything is for the "good of the people", and when someone from another country is actually legit and praised, tries to get part of the merit for himself.
Leo Turner
He's not wrong. Too bad he's doing the opposite of what he's preaching.
Jeremiah Russell
>2018
So we're just casually going to ignore RE7, Sekiro, DMCV, etc.?
John Stewart
Yes. And after that they released Witcher moba, Witcher card game and another Witcher spin off, and all of them unsurprisingly turned out to be subpar.
Noah Rodriguez
CD Projekt red also sell their games on Steam, though.
Tim is just subhuman.
Leo Hall
Remember to support hard working publishers like Ubisoft and 2K. They deserve even more money!
Jonathan Cruz
inb4 weebshit
Hunter Williams
Feel free to name 5 well know mainstream non jap publisher titles released on steam in the past year that dont require an account on a different service to play making steam basically irrelevant.
Ethan Bailey
Spin off is fine. Moba was trash. Card game was meh. Seems like they keep changing the rules of Gwent every new game.
Brandon Turner
Implessive
David Carter
They are weebshit.
Explain to me how any of those games are bigger than Borderlands 3. Epic got THE BIGGEST game this year. Cope.
Jace Hughes
In 2019 Steam has
>Sekiro
>REmake 2
>Ace Combat 7
>Dirt Rally 2.0
>Devil May Cry 5
>Mortal Kombat 11
>Rage 2
That's multiple Game of the Year contenders. And the year isn't even over.
>Blazing Chrome
>Doom Eternal
>Wolfenstein: Youngblood
And what does Epic have? Uh... Fortnite, I guess. And that one is losing against games that literally play themselves. I'd be surprised if Epic survives this year...
Caleb Adams
Anybody remember when Thronebreaker was exclusive to GOG and it was a massive fucking flop? Yeah me neither.
Jason Jones
>implying that matters when steam got Halo
Joseph Peterson
Thronebreaker spinoff was a GOG exclusive when it released but it tanked so hard that they had to start selling it on Steam soon after.
Jackson Lopez
I don't understand what you mean. The store works fine (a few niggles, but nothing worse than uplay/origin) and they have some very popular games on there. As far as I can see, the only complaint people really have is the fact that it isn't Steam. I just see it as yet another store app to install on my gaming rig, nothing special.
Kevin Russell
LMAO RANDY "BADASS" PITCHFORD
Cameron Williams
To be fair it wouldn't be surprising if Borderlands 3 got a GOTY
Christopher Garcia
this faggot actually thinks he and his chink store are as loved as CDPR
Why isn't this nutcase in an asylum already?
Bentley Edwards
Steam has no drm for a load of games, its the devs choice if they include it.
I have dozens of installs of ksp with different mods because you can just copypaste the folder to a different location and it still works.
Daniel Gonzalez
No
It shows people want to support cdpr because they are based from a consumer perspective, and they also like no drm and no denuvo
Reframing reality is a good feat for daily life, but using it in the market makes you look like an asshole scumbag
Ie: Steve Jobs telling everybody they are using the phone wrong
Lincoln Moore
>uplay/origin)
IIRC they both have a shopping cart
Matthew Roberts
Wasn't he called Apu?
Cooper Phillips
Steam is DRM in and of itself, although a pretty weak one
Jonathan Phillips
>what does Epic have?
Satisfactory. Better Factorio.
WWZ. Better L4D.
Dauntless. Better MHW.
Outer Worlds. Obsidian's Magnum Opus.
Outer Wilds. Dark Horse of the year.
Sinking City. Best Lovecraft game of this generation.
Control. Remedy's Magnum Opus.
Borderlands 3. Second best game this year and best franchise of all time.
Fortnite. Best game of all time every time.
But yeah. Keep seething drones. Epic can't stop winning.
Justin Torres
>Dauntless. Better MHW.
mhw is the worst monster hunter and dauntless isn't even close
Ian Wood
I make more money using steam than bugmen get to shill epic here.
Isaac Morales
I'm never sure if people posting stuff like this are just trolls fishing for (You)s or are they just fanatical shills
Logan Perry
>the only complaint people really have is the fact that it isn't Steam
A shill statement. If you are serious you are new or you keep missing the pile of issues that get brought up.
Kayden Peterson
>WWZ. Better L4D.
had me up until there
Evan Lee
The ones posting new bait are the fishers
The ones reposting the same replies and images are the marketers
Ryan Jenkins
If Steam being weak DRM is enough to possibly please publishers and potentially keep them from using harsher DRM that's sort of a good thing
Cooper Martin
Prove me wrong then?
Satisfactory sold amazing.
WWZ sold amazing.
Dauntless is slowly becoming the biggest F2P game right now.
And while they haven't released any numbers for the other games yet I'm sure they're all massive successes as well.
This proves that Tim is right and that Games > Store.
Oh and I forgot to mention Metro Exodus too. Basically a better STALKER.
Nathan Martin
>WWZ. Better L4D.
>Dauntless. Better MHW.
>Outer Worlds. Obsidian's Magnum Opus.
>Outer Wilds. Dark Horse of the year.
>Sinking City. Best Lovecraft game of this generation.

this gotta be trolling
Jeremiah Stewart
>Borderlands 3
>best franchise of all time
you had me until this, keep up the good baits son
Christopher Phillips
That's cool, tell it to your board members.
How does this affect consumers?
Do we get better deals?
Elijah Jenkins
Imperator: Rome

>congratulating GOG for existing

Yeah no shit Tim. They also were here before you started Epic Store. Steam wasn't a monopoly like you thought.
Benjamin Thomas
>Prove me wrong
>Satisfactory sold amazing
That was fast
Jason Fisher
>literally whos
>not an exclusive
What a failure list, shill.
David Thomas
My complaint is that the Epic store is cancer on my computer. I'd be happy if the games that are on Epics store were on literally any other launcher because Epic's game launcher is the worst fucking launcher available.
Fucking Itch.io is even better than this and all they fucking sell is shovelware indie tripe.
Charles Roberts
>better
Opinions opinions opinions
Angel Butler
So on the one hand, everyone seem to be asserting that the store is awful, has no games, and nobody in their right mind would ever consider using it.
Immediately afterwards, they seem to be asserting that they intend to purchase many games from the site at once- so many, in fact, that the lack of a shopping cart was a grievous inconvenience.
I've bought more than one game from them in a row (when they had a sale). The lack of a cart surprised me, but it just meant a few more clicks. I find it hard to believe it's a dealbreaker for anyone.
We both know that nobody would be complaining about this store if it weren't for the fact that certain games are exclusive to it.
Justin Parker
Literally cope.
I'm here posting objective facts that the EGS is a resounding success and all I'm greeted with is SEETHING.
Ayden Morales
What the fuck is wrong with this man
Nathan Cooper
Because they didn't force anyone to use their shitty launcher.
Jace Morales
Have sex.
Henry Perry
Hey you faggots. If we're listing off games then don't forget Risk of Rain 2 as well.
Liam Garcia
this post reminds me that I need to preorder cyberpunk on steam. did they make the system reqs available yet?

can't you buy the game on steam and they give you a free copy on gog

You realize From Software is a Japanese developer right? and it's a game about ninja's no less.
Owen Martinez
Gog is definitely getting better and I like it. Personally, I wish that every game in steam also let you have a drm free gog version. Then you have the all the convenience of steam with the consumer-friendliness of gog.
Owen Reyes
>it's another poorly disguised epic shill thread
Landon Harris
>We both know that nobody would be complaining about this store if it weren't for the fact that certain games are exclusive to it.
The problem isn't on the game being in another store, the problem is the store being Epic. If Cyberpunk was a GoG exclusive nobody would care.
Taking the answer to the other user, it confirms you must have brain damage. The shopping cart argument is to show how it's poorly made and not a testament of a wish to buy lots of games.
Nolan Bailey
Every time
Nolan Gonzalez
Tim's plan is called the 6-month news cycle. He has to say stupid shit to stay in the media and the minds of Yea Forums (rent free) otherwise Epic Games Store will just become "another digital store." There's no such thing as bad publicity. Tim's worst fear is his store fading into obscurity after he poured millions into it (despite it not even being functional yet).
John James
>Steam tries to stop piracy
>GOG is supporting piracy
>Epic is ENABLING piracy
Uhhhhh. So why do we hate based Tim again?
John Turner
Is this guy ignorant or just full of himself? What did steam do to him? Shit in his cereal?
Cameron Bennett
You said publisher retard. Activision is not Japanese
Juan Morales
>used Epic Launcher for UT
>had the foresight to give them a bogus mail
Feels good man.
James Clark
This.
Alexander Collins
>If Cyberpunk was a GoG exclusive nobody would care.
Well yeah, that's because there's this unspoken acceptance regarding first party exclusivity.
Benjamin Lewis
It's up to the devs if they want to opt in to DRM on steam. BallisticNG is DRM free for example.
Camden Williams
CDPR HATES YOU TIM. FUCK YOU.
Connor Anderson
Correct. Epic's "better split" does nothing for me as a customer, though. I don't get better prices for it.
Julian Harris
Dauntless does have a excellent f2p model though how that shit is profitable if you're not fortnite i'm not sure. A game that can be played on two consoles and PC entirely free is gonna have a lot of players. But it doesn't change the fact that the art direction is awful and plays way more like a button masher (a lot like chaosbane compared to diablo 2) and so little content compared to mh3, mh4, and generations.
Colton Adams
becasue games>stores?
Anthony Harris
Oh, so you don't know how to find good games on Steam. Gotcha
Brody Perez
I think it was less of a case of Thronebreaker tanking and more about it simply not getting crazy sales due to it being what it is. Making it an initial exclusive was a mistake in the first place.
Matthew Price
Project Warlock
Joseph Myers
Building the Chinese empire!
Wyatt Taylor
Satisfactory is worse than factorio and sold worse than factorio.
Nobody actually plays WorldWarZ. The fact that such an old game such as L4D is still better shows how mediocre it is.
Nobody would ever actually play Dauntless if it wasn't F2P. MHW is way worse than the previous MH games yet is still far better than dauntless
Outer Worlds isn't even out
Outer Wilds isn't even out
>open world shit
Alan Wake is the magnum opus of Remedy
Borderlands is literally worse than Destiny
Fortnite is objectively shit.
Aaron Harris
Nolan Hernandez
>There's no such thing as bad publicity
Marketing meme. Ask EA about Battlefront 2.
Luis Johnson
Game that's been out longer has sold more? what is this novel concept
yes they do

soon
yes it is
>mad
no
no
maybe
Wyatt Gomez
you know its because contrarians think something being overrated is the same as something being bad
Juan Powell
He's right Alan Wake isn't Remedy's magnum opus. That's Max Payne 2.
Joseph Adams
>A Company makes 100% of the sales money of their own product from a platform they also own
Does Tim not know how capitalism works?
Thomas Myers
>Borderlands is literally worse than Destiny
I have no idea how much of the hype for BL3 is actually manufactured. None of the previous games were really that highly anticipated or anything.
Ethan Hughes
I saw you delete that post. Does Epic pay you per post or something?
Ryder Morris
>Max Payne 2
The first game is better than 2.
Robert Parker
Literally what is his point
Nathan Anderson
And maybe because Satisfactory is just a shitty clone game
So why is literally nobody actually talking about that game?
Not wrong, just like above nobody actually talks about Dauntless either compared to MHW.
Yes it's not out
The fact I don't even know it's out just shows how nobody actually fucking cares about that game lmao
If I google a game and I can't even find any gameplay outside of "it's open world" then you easily know that it's shit
Alan Wake is objectively far better than anything Remedy made past that point
Borderlands isn't very good as either an RPG or a shooter. Destiny is atleast a decent shooter.
Eli Ward
Leave the Yea Forums bubble & you'd see.
Carter Peterson
I think it's per (you)
Adam Perez
He's saying it doesn't matter that EGS is an ugly, broken, barely functional piece of shit because he has exclusive games and consumers will inevitably bow to shit service from shit humans(proven time after time) if the shit humans have the dopamine hit that the shit consumers want.
He's basically saying it makes more sense to be a vulture capitalist than provide a good service to customers.
Oliver Anderson
Didn't BL2 sell pretty well? To the point where they whored out the DLC years after release.
Carter Thompson
Do you know CDR actually started as game distributor then distributor/translater in poland when the games cost as much as few months salary?
>tfw polacks pirated through radiowaves
Christian James
The first Max Payne is a great game. I do however prefer the second game.
The blood mazes with the baby crying in the first Max Payne. So annoying!
Julian Baker
>shills and falseflaggers actually trying to cause a shitfight with GOG, a niche service appealing to oldfags who hate drm to begin with
You faggots never aknowlaged it existence till it suited you. Thanks for bringing console war shit to PC, niggers
Michael Wilson
Because what else were they going to do?
>Duke Nukem Forever
>Aliens: Colonial Marines
>Battleborn
Dud after dud after dud. I am amazed Homeworld Remastered turned out the way it did.
Hunter Bell
>Satisfactory. Better Factorio.
Imagine actually believing this
Isaac Nelson
The only thing I like about dauntless is its system that rewards you for doing achievements against monsters and the crafting and use of weapons. Gives incentive to try out different stuff.
Outside of that the game play and aesthetic is utter trash along with their servers.
Anthony Cooper
>trusting Remedy
Quantum Break was fucking shit, Alan Wake was their last good game, and I say this being a diehard Max Payne fag
Landon Long
Others did it before, but GOG is really putting their foot down with Galaxy 2.0 and connecting all services. Smooth integration will be key.
Elijah Reyes
Sold amazingly well and the rest of the internet loves it, that's why Timmy could only afford 3 exclusivity for 6 months.
Juan Hughes
>Metro
>Better than Stalker

Asher King
What I'm trying to say is that the folks started their business because they cared about their customers in the first place

>GOG
>33% market share
Say WHAT? I fucking wish. Does anybody know whose ass did Mr. Sweeney pull that number from?
Ethan Thomas
I don't know if this is quality bait or shilling.
Jordan Turner
CD Project themselves said it but that's only for Cyperpunk sales.
Blake Young
>It's steam's fault 2018 was a shit year for video games
Why do we live in a time where we have to defend video game launchers like consoles. Is it really the game launcher war era? fucking kill me
fuck gaben fuck tim sweeney fuck that guy from sony with no neck fuck bowser im out yall
Nolan Turner
>Just one number off
Fuck
Also he's both Apu/Helper
Levi Foster
This 100% proves that Steam is a monopoly. They probably got like more than half of the other pre-orders. Now CDPR is getting shafted instead of getting 100% of the cut.
What's your excuse steamdrones?
Tyler Gomez
He's such a fucking retard. Needs his skull caved in.
Chase Wilson
sure but you don't even need to tie steamworks DRM to it, outside of the first download. FTL is a good example. Download it, uninstall steam, and you never need it ever again.
Ryan Ward
He's not wrong.
Need I remind you fags that God of War came out in 2018? And it wasn't on Steam.
>B-BUT MUH OBRA DINN
lmao
Nathan Kelly
So, who will surrender first? Developers without sales from epic store or consumers without many games pulled from steam? My bet on devs.
Matthew Diaz
GoG is also DRM-free and not hag-ridden by Chinese spyware.
Carter Nguyen
>This 100% proves that Steam is a monopoly.
William Barnes
I think you're willfully retarded.
Jordan Parker
It's not on Epic or GOG either so what's your point?
Nathan Moore
Do you know just how many fucking games get released every year?
Epic says they plan on only having a hundred games curated into their store every year.
That's fucking laughable.
Adam James
Customers only gotta wait a year, even if Epic keeps it up next year, people will just play stuff that was exclusive this year.
Jason Gomez
Didn't steam give copies away for Cyberpunk? Don't they have to pay for all those copies?
Josiah Peterson
and their games are still on steam
explain that sweenie
Hunter Nelson
He should stop using Twitter...
Ryan White
You can buy child porn on gog?
Wyatt Torres
600 games a day for 10 days, so that's 300K dollars tops if literally every game were Cyberpunk 2077. They make that in an hour from selling CSGO skins on the market.
Ayden Lewis
>Valve is giving CDPR money for Cyberpunk
LMAO steam is literally cucked
Ian Reyes
Imagine being this high
Cooper Rodriguez
>egs has to give free games every 2 weeks for people to even download their client
Luis Powell
in the end i think it led to a lot more preorders since most people thought "i don't have to pay for it". I'm sure others who couldn't even run the game or cared about the game put it in their lists since it didn't matter to them because, again, the player didn't pay for it. Valve did
Grayson Robinson
Why is this pedo looking fuck sucking GoG's dicks all of a sudden when clearly they don't give a shit about Epic and in fact are hurt just as much by Epic's exclusivity deals as Steam are? If anything, CDPR would be siding with Steam rather than Epic in this whole debate.
Jose Wilson
So because of the event even more people wishlisted Cyberpunk on Steam?
I can't believe Valve is giving CDPR free marketing.
Michael Ross
And its drm-free!
Kevin Thompson
that's my take on it. the games most given away during the race was Cyberpunk
Noah Young
Hey don't talk shit about my gamefu Return of the Obra Dinn, its fantastic.
Ethan Lewis
GoG doesn't just do that - they were also originally pandering to a niche who were, up to their inception, practically ignored. You didn't have a lot of old games with proper support that you could actually buy - you would have to pirate them and jump through a few hoops to play them. Even though some of GoG's releases are literally just repackaged fan-patches, at least they're giving you an official avenue to buy something and does that work for you.
Epic Games Store is literally just an alternative to Steam with no reason to use it outside of Epic throwing money at devs and getting them onto their store. It's the same issue EA and Ubisoft had.
Christian Perry
HUMILATION
Nolan Scott
so sales are a representation of quality when it fits your agenda, when it wasn't on the popular choice that you dislike because of contrarianism?
Jaxon Adams
>Epic Games Store is literally just an alternative to Steam
I wish it was literally an alternative.
Because as of now, people that get games from Epic using the fucking Steam forums for help.
Wake me up when they have something as fantastic as the controller magic steam has.
Jonathan Ortiz
Tweeney gets caught up pants down shitting on CDPR and now that hes caught hes trying to mdamage control by giving CDPR positive views.
Wyatt Bell
None of that is true

Hunter Anderson
The biggest release on steam in 2018 was monster hunter world.

Are they using him as a clown? Why isn't he put in a cage yet?

came here to say this. should've been fpbp
what is tiny tim offering that gog and steam aren't? 3rd party exclusives? o wow im soo shopping there now, wheres the e-cart bru?
Justin Bell
You all do realize that Epic isn't really competing with Steam right?
If Epic was truly competing with Steam they wouldn't be trying to convince Steam/GoG/Uplay/etc. users to go on the EGS. They would actually be trying to convince pirates and emerging markets to go on their store. That's what you need to do to actually compete with Steam.
Christopher Mitchell
wow 33% market share and they didn't even have to buy up exclusivity contracts to do it, they even sell their first party games on steam

I never said it was a good alternative, just that it was one. Just like how technically Mac or Linux is an alternative to Windows for gaming. They're not good, but they are options if you don't want to support Valve/Microsoft.
Noah Miller
does that count if the game is digital only too?
Bentley Gonzalez
Good. I do not give a shit about most western AAA games anymore and all the good ones are on Steam.
Isaac Bell
Since this thread is dying I'll just throw it out there now.

I don't think I've ever seen Satisfacotry discussed outside of Yea Forums.
Point for World War Z though. Some normie coworkers were going apeshit about how it's going to be THE next big game and one was considering quitting so he could be a full time streamer when it blows up. Then the game came out and they never mentioned it again. Weirdest damn thing.
Robert Jackson
Seeing how he fucks himself over time and time again I rather have hm going at it for as long as possible.

Gog is competing with Epic, Steam and consoles.
Getting a 33% is cool.

Well yeah lmao. Why would it get removed? There's no other reason to update it again until the exclusivity deal ends.

Fortnite, LoL, Dota 2, CSGO, WoW and a plethora of other mobile games don't get discussed here too.
Lucas Sanchez
Why?
Offering a better product is a good way to sell more units and make more money. This carries the risk of not actually selling more units proportional to your investment.
With exclusivity deals, however, the developer gets money upfront, greatly reducing the risk at the cost of selling fewer units.
Why would they invest in making better games then? As long as they are good enough for another exclusivity deal, they don't need to worry about money and since they are limited in sales volume, minimizing costs becomes a better way to maximize profits.
I'd agree with you if Epic was more selective, but at the time they seem more worried about increasing their catalogue.
Leo Scott
do you think he's actually writing this stuff, or some marketers trying to drum up twitter arguments
Kevin Morgan
You're either new here or too busy arguing in waifu threads to check the catalog then.

Mason Rivera
>Development hell

Joshua Brooks
I preferred 2 from a gameplay standpoint, PS's classes didn't do anything for me.
Jonathan Mitchell
>best gameplay of a looter shooter so far
Nigger, the game was filled with shit guns and vast amounts of nothing. Just running and running ina. Boring environment. Along with the awful quest design that forces you to backtrack back and forth just to I flare gametime.
The gameplay is fucking garbage. What a poor joke.
Nolan Martinez
Thank fuck Epic stepped up to the plate with a handout, Randy was probably considering mugging old ladies to get more dev funds.
Cooper Scott
They don't.
This ain't trickle down economics though.
Hunter Thompson
what's with these stupid bait twitter threads all the time.
it's like holy shit, you get more money if you sell the product yourself.
what a revelation. never hear of such thing. very significant news. etc.
Samuel Nguyen
Not true, there are plenty of games on Steam where you don't need to be logged in, in order to play.
Jayden Green
Epic didn't pay for it, it's on UE4 and epic waves their 7% royalty fee if you use only the epic store to distribute UE4 games. The royalty fee is across all platforms which is how epic got so rich to begin with, so by waving it they're making a ridiculously large amount just from 7% more of the console sales which are least 80% of the actual sales.
That more than anything they buy will determine whether the epic store takes off. If multiple publishers take the deal to get the royalty waved they'll have tons of exclusives.

Lucas Reed
Because Steam has lots of features and sales. Besides, if I wanted to own games, I'll just pirate them.
Charles Thompson
Well, the devs should be paid at this point.
Robert Martinez

randy got it into his mind that large maps = more content. This is what happened to their dlc as well, just enormous maps with fuckall in them. and that was PS in a nutshell.
I would expect that philosophy to ramp up in bl3.
Daniel Kelly
I have to disagree. The floaty moon combat was unique and fun but I just couldn't find a class that gell'd with me. Plus the loot was shit and 3 games in borderlands still doesn't have any new gun classes. I get how you could personally disagree though.

you forgot the part where the only did that because they wanted to make a locked down proprietary version of a linux operating system, that would be pre installed on all their steamboxes which were their attempt to make an all in one media center for homes with their shitty overpriced prebuilts so they could control distribution before it all blew up in their face in a massive flop like everything else they've done in the past 10 years.
Juan Jones
>The store works fine
>a few niggles, but nothing worse than uplay/origin
uplay/origin both have shopping carts, offer a plethora of payment methods without sticking you with charge fees, don't lock down your account if you were buying a bunch of games one after another that you have to chase down some chinese call center fuck to have them unlock your account, don't hide behind Developers Developers Developers despite doing handjobs for publishers instead, and also don't buy up timed exclusivity for their game launchers even if they were to be offered on other launchers. uplay/origin are shit but they're still far better than epic store has been so far.

why are you people so obsessed with fucking shoping carts? The fucking google store doesn't have a shopping cart because you don't buy digital items in goddamn bulk or have numerous products. you need carts on amazon, because you buy 15 different fucking items at once not for digital media where you purchase 1-2 a week at most.
Isaiah Barnes
>Is all of SteamOS open source software?
>No. SteamOS ships with our Steam Client program, which is proprietary software, in addition to proprietary 3rd party drivers. That being said, you can still access the standard Linux desktop.

>system requirements: super famicom
>game doesn't even work on my system because I dared to upgrade it in the last 10 years
Jason Long
>Besides it got a virus
You do know you only get virus' because of your own retardation right?
Dylan Cook
You can though. Not my fault you're an idiot.
David James
Maybe if you had a brain you would ask questions how to fix it on the forums (which Epic doesn't have) and complain about EA's shitty PC support, but hey, I'm not the retard here.
Jaxson Rogers
Anyone got the source image of Sweeney dog?
Julian Gray
interesting hahahhahahahAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAa
Alexander Fisher
>Isn't the whole point of a PC that you don't have to constantly buy a new one every generation, that it stays the same?
There's way more to it than that.
You're also leaving out that an OS goes out of date WAY later than a game console, and you can still keep an old OS on a separate hard drive to keep access to your old games same as keeping an old system around.
Dominic Myers
I honestly cannot comprehend being so utterly ignorant of how software works.
Gabriel Carter
>the only roadblock to a PC's ability to play whatever you want is the intelligence of the person operating it
Matthew Russell
>Live in a age where everyone has a connection to the sum of human knowledge in their pocket
>Essentially a real life Hitchhiker's Guide
>People barely understand how to set up an email
I don't get it man. I'll never get it.
Eli Perry
An N64 and a Super Famicom are different
A PC and a PC are the same thing
Michael Walker
Steam is not DRM by itself, it's a digital distribution platform. There's a steamworks DRM wrapper that is part of it usually used for most of the games, but some games can choose to not include it at all. Just because you installed a Steam client and can only download it through steam doesn't mean it's a DRM by itself, it's just a distribution channel tied to account and storefront, the game can still be DRM free. Most of them are not tho, and some of them use 3rd party DRM on top too.
Joshua Clark
>33% marketshare
the fuck is he talking about
Jack Fisher
Console game
>go to shelf
>open my Super Metroid box
>plug it into my Switch
>it doesn't work
>system requirements: SNES
PC Game
>go Steam
>buy Sim City
>load it up
>it doesn't work
>download community patch
>it now runs in 4K
Jack Brooks
the pusblisher pay to the developer
Daniel Perry
>>download community patch
WHAT THE FUCK WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DO THAT?
Jack Reyes
We're constantly bombarded by useless info and there is too much knowledge for one person to know everything. Just look at how many retards here keep shitposting because they have nothing else to do.
Joseph Ramirez
Tim Sweeny is basically admitting defeat by posting this.
He may as well have said, "I know my store is shit, but you will buy my games anyway because of the exclusivity."
Nolan Bailey
Because these people give a shit unlike other publishers where they barely do anything.
Nicholas Stewart
Because software doesn't just work indefinitely, you fucking retard. Libraries and dependencies change.
My fucking grandma understands computers better than you do
Ryder Baker
>there is too much knowledge for one person to know everything
Sure, but we're not talking about quantum physics or anything. Computers are fucking everywhere. Not knowing how to use one at least on a basic competent level is like not knowing how to drive or cook or do your own laundry.
Chase Sanchez
So Steam is selling games that doesn't even work unless you download something someone who doesn't even work for Steam or the company that published that game made for free
Levi Long
>If Cyberpunk was a GoG exclusive nobody would care.
GOG has larger financial incentive/imperative to make their game exclusive to their own store, and they still don't because they know exclusivity is cancer.
Joshua Allen
Because you're trying to run a game older than your ass on a PC made 20 years later
Austin Morris
>So Steam is selling games that doesn't even work
If we're still talking about SimCity, no. The only SimCity that steam sells works on windows 10 without needing to download anything else
Camden James
Because good PC releases usually have loyal fanbases that fix/keep them playable through the years
Can't say the same about consoles
Jackson Hernandez
>The store works fine
Don't you get banned from multiplayer if they find out you're using a vpn?
Henry Baker
What the fuck is this loser even trying to say? His launcher isn't worth shit in spite of how many games that are on it.
Connor Scott
>So Steam is selling games that doesn't even work
What?
Every Steam Store page lists PC requirements.
Are you saying steam shouldn't let you buy a product before running a benchmark or something?
Oliver Harris
Because your average person is fucking retarded and boomers are willfully ignorant.
Zachary Butler
Kill this shill thread. Right now. Do it.
Justin Cook
>buy a console game
>put disc in my ps4/switch/xbox
>spend next hour downloading updates instead of playing the damn game
or worse. the game isn't even ON the disc
David Moore
Console download speeds are the fucking worst. What the hell are they paying those online memberships for?
Jordan Martin
To use P2P connections with other consoles.
Elijah Rogers
>WWZ. Better L4D.
out of all the dumb shit you said this takes the cake
Colton Price
Am I the only one who thinks Tim Sweeny actually looks like fucking Jeffrey Dahmer?
Bentley Butler
I kinda see it, if Jeffery Dahmer had down syndrome.
John Sullivan
Jeffery Dahmer doesn't look that bad.
He looks more like Stephen King if he had down syndrome or fetal alcohol syndrome
Grayson Bennett
speaking of stephen king, why do so many people try and run him over/kill him
Eli Price
Go on lad! This one's on me
Jackson Sanders
>try to emulate phantasy star 2 years ago
>jesus fucking christ how does anyone play this I have no idea where anything is
>see pdf of the manual
Oh.
