Controller help

Yea Forums I require some help, my controller that I have been using for smash has been acting up recently mainly with the c-stick. even when i'm not touching it it is constantly inputting down and messing me over .
I have disassembled it and made it as far as pic related. the cover for the c-stick isn't coming off and i don't wanna force it in case I cause irreparable damage.
does anyone know how to safely take it off? kinda desperate cuz i'm going to a locals soon

you have to force it, it's just a cap, don't worry

What an awful controller design.

Also if you're playing smash to the point of going to locals, you should REALLY have a spare controller.

you sure?, i'm kinda afraid to beak it
i don't have the money for a new one right now

Normal GCN sticks pull straight off, but that is a powera wireless gcn pro controller. I can't find any teardowns that take apart the analog sticks online. Can you get any good pictures of the underside of the stick (use your phone's flash if you can't get light in there)?

Here's a pic
Also it's the wired one, not the wireless

huh, don't see anything that would be holding it on unless there was some adhesive on the metal connector.

You could try giving it a twist to see if that allows it to easily come off, but if that fails I think you might just have to force it off

turns out is came off with enough force, i was just being paranoid about fucking it all up completely.
i think i know what to do next with the sensors

well that's good I guess. best of luck repairing it
