I would say this would be fun and cool to do, but I need the momentum and practice of playing through the early parts of a game to not be shit at it in the endgame.

I do this too, because my library at the time wasn't that huge. Got to the final dungeons in my rpgs (Tales, FF, SMT, Xenogears) and saved right before the last Vergil/Jubileus and Azel fights. I beat all the games and watched the endings in one nice satisfying session

Since the gaming industry went to shit I decided to just drop out and live in the past forever. I have downloaded every PS2 game onto an 8tb hard drive and am going through anything that isnt licensed trash or a sports game in alphabetical order on my aesthetic as fuck white PS2.

Just hit the Cs. Surprised how good Champions of Norrath is. Aside from not having any way to compare your equipment on one screen it has a lot of cool shit for its genre. Stuff I didn't see until post Diablo 3.

Cold Fear is also pretty good. Yeah it's no RE4 but it's very atmospheric and the ship setting is used to it's full effect.

Surprisingly believe it or not a lot of people actually liked the dub voices in the west that got removed.
Most of the non-tournament casual players enjoyed the story mode.

Not only that adding two-three characters per-extended for a $60 update really made people stop caring for the game.
The games started to become what SF is hated for which is a "Ultra" or "Extended" edition of the game in this case.
I had friends saying they were waiting for extended edition of BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle.

It's a great series, but they might had ruin the IP's name overtime at least with the casual audience that cared for story and wanting more characters.

Not to mention even after buying a new game you still had to pay for dlc.
