>by the talented team at @Netflix Animation!

That's my first fear. I don't think I've seen any impressive animation at Netflix. It's all cheap flash looking trash.

We could be in an early 90's animation rennaisance now but instead we're stuck with flash tier garbage.

Have you seen how much of a downgrade the new Magic Schoolbus series was?

I blame Disney's move to 3D animation.
There's no one maintaining the craft anymore. Plus they're using quick-and-easy digital animation.

>Netflix
F

>Have you seen how much of a downgrade the new Magic Schoolbus series was?

Fuck you for reminding me about that garbage.

>making a show out of a game with a classical cartoon design
>make it not classic anymore in its actual cartoon
WTF is the point?

1930s animation or nothing. You can't use computer trickery to get around it. You do it the right way or you can fuck off.

Might be kind of fun.

>Have you seen how much of a downgrade the new Magic Schoolbus series was?
I didn't know about this.
I didn't want to know about this.

tfw the only studio that's actually making quality 2D stuff is Cartoon Saloon and they're Irish

3D animation is a nightmare, you can have all the arguments to explain why you don't like it, but it being quick and easy is not one of them.

>inspired by classic animation styles of the 1930s
Oh so instead of hand animating every frame, they're going to just make 3D models, make them look 2D, and make the screen flicker like an old projector. Cool.

By "they" I meant Netflix/etc making modern cartoons, sorry if that wasn't clear.

Maybe they'll get the Castlevania team to do Cuphead.

is there even a demand for a cuphead series?

i barely hear anything about cuphead these days anyway.

It is quick, but it's not easy and it's very, very expensive.

>The game's entire gimmick was that it looked like an actual 1930's cartoon
>Let's make a cartoon that looks nothing like it

Attached: youremissingthepoint.jpg (320x240, 20K)

>no drawing skill needed
>no recreating models
>preset animation packages
>automatic rigging systems
Easy compared to 2D.

netflix ruins everything

no it's not expensive you fucking retard
there's a gajillion pajeet-made kids shovelware animation out there, you think they're paying out the ass for it?

Does Cuphead even have a story?

>Pick up a video game that has been praised for its 1930s' style cartoon style to make it a cartoon series
>Art at ad poster looks nothing like 1930s' cartoon
Aaaand...it already failed

>cuphead and mugman lose a bet with the devil
>now collect souls to get theirs back
so basically kind of, could make an episodic series

Two little boy cups go gambling and end up being in debt to the devil.

They're busy enough doing S3 of that and Devil May Cry

Damn. No breaks on the Cuphead train.

>Netflix
It's dead. Forget the announcement and just play the DLC when it comes out.

Studio MDHR, King Features Syndicate, and Netflix announced The Cuphead Show based on the video game is currently in development by Netflix Animation of as July 2019. The series will feature adventures of Cupman and Mugman across Inkwell Island, exploring areas and characters beyond those in the video game. While the series will be targeted for children, Studio MDHR also antipicated that they will include humor and gags for adult audience appreciation. The series will be animated, but will not be as meticulously done as the video game using traditional pen-and-paper methods, as it would take far too long to complete, but will still feature hand-drawn characters and movement but with aid of a digital medium. Chad and Jared Moldenhauer from Studio MDHR will be executive producers along with CJ Kettler from King Features. Dave Wasson (Time Squad) and Cosmo Segurson will co-executive produce, while Clay Morrow and Adam Paloian will be supervising directors.[44][92]

Would still look ass
