He does have a point.
Steams days are numbered. Gog and Epic together will see to that.

GoG already existed before epic. Multiple-storefronts existed before Epic. Epic keeps trying to act like its promoting something new when it isn't. Epics storefront isn't even worth using compared to the storefronts that already exist.
Steam drones are tiresome
>not an argument
It's strange because he seems to be congratulating exactly the opposite of EGS is doing.
Cope steamcel
You mean the argument that Epic is equivalent to 2004 steam in 2019? or the fact that Steam has never payed a developer for an exclusive? That image has always worked more to the detriment of you Epic shills since its such a poorly thoughtout image and I don't believe anyone has ever actually seen it as anything other than a very very poorly made attempt at some sort of jab at steam.
I almost think the image is some sort of deliberately poorly made bait meant to be an attack at Epic shills for their poorly made arguments as well as the fact that the image lends to itself with the whole "poorly made chinese knockoff"
Don't try to jump on the GOG wagon, Epishill. Even Desura was better for the market than Epic store.
You two are right.
Epic drones are despicable.
>steamcel doesn't know thee history of his employer
archive.fo
Turns out Vavle used the same tactics that Epic is now using to gain a foothold in the distribution market.
Who would've thunk...
OH NO NO NO NO NO
DELETE THIS - I RETCONNED IT SO VALVE ARE ALWAYS THE GOOD GUYS
All I see here is that valve asked for the demo version to be removed.
I love how Tim is pushing GOG Galaxy because it hides the fact his launcher still has 0 features and every promised feature is nowhere to be seen.
>Timmy creates a problem
>GOG has a bandaid solution
>Timmy thinks the problem is solved
What an obnoxious faggot.
I like how this proves Tim Sweeney is an idiot and Epic's approach is wrong. He claims paying for exclusives is the only way to get sales, but GoG doesn't do that and they're still competing just fine. Maybe if Epic actually did a good job they could compete too instead of needing to bribe publishers to get monopolies.
fuck off Tim, I hope you die in a fire
Steam doesn't want fucking exclusives though, epic games are the only faggots playing that game.
>remove it from the devs own site the only place to get it digital before and demo
Nice try steamshill, better luck next time.
When's the shopping cart due? Early next year?
>GOG has only generated $7.8k net profit in 2018
>Linux client not developed anymore
>regional pricing removed
Y-yeah, seems to work really well for them.
would you look at that, steam shill on suicide watch
We're still talking Long Term (>6 months)
They didn't said it was a digital exclusive forced by steam.
And it's available in boxed version anyway.
Yes? Valve only requested the demo to be gone
GOG is practically a charity at this point, they make next to no money from the site while actively damaging other companies brands by trivialising piracy by allowing users to download DRM free installers of every game on the site, it may be their major selling point but they'll never do well because of it.
>literally says to remove the game from the site
>i-i-i-t's only the demo
Did they pick you up straight from grade school or are you really that illiterate?
You could still buy boxed copies, they also weren’t just steam codes.
They didn't said the exclusivity was imposed by steam.
>EGS is run entirely on fortnite cash
>Stopped linux support and never had linux development in mind
>Fucked regional pricing with some places being charged more than the usual price because 'muh cut!'
Mate, Gog is miles above your filth
Its the only reason tim is now sucking up to Gog
Selling DRM-free software is trivialising piracy now?
What kind of fucking imbecile are you?
>but GoG doesn't do that and they're still competing just fine.
tweaktown.com
gog.com
I was gonna say you were a GOG drone, but it makes way more sense that you're a Steam drone as you're still trying to pretend Steam isn't a monopoly by pretending a dead platform like GOG is "competing with Steam"
>as part of steams exclusivity
You really are an illiterate retard.
Also, you know, steam doing something slightly shitty years ago doesn't justify epic doing incredibly shitty things now.
Yet Epic makes money while gog is reeling to stay afloat.
But dson't worry, I'm not surprised a steamcel doesn't get what the post was even about.
>It's okay that Steam was shit because it was in da past!!1
Is this seriously the best you guys got?
Steam isn't a monopoly as a storefront though, you can buy steamkeys from other distributors though, and steam today does not stop people from putting their game on other platforms. Guess what cannot be said for epic?
It does if the "defense" why one is better then the other is that they've never done it themselves, which is simply wrong. Not to defend any of them, but it shows the hypocrisy that some try to argue with.
tick
Peoples don't forget, user.
>Valve used the same tactics that Epic is now using to gain a foothold
>it's wrong if Epic does the same now
Never change steamshill, never change.
>Yet Epic makes money
>Fortnite fanbase down 70%
>Paying for exclusivity AND shenmue 3 refunds
Epicshills are beyond retarded
EGS won't even be a thing in like two years.
On the contrary, you read stuff that doesn't exist.
They said it was exclusive to download, but that decision could have been on Introversion only.
The only thing your picture is showing is that steam asked them to remove the demo, they might as well precise that steam asked them to go full exclusive for digital as well, but they didn't. Or at least we have no proof of that.
remember when we had securom and starforce(both literal spyware) and you had to manually patch your games? good times, fuck steam.
Nowhere in that archive does it say Steam payed them for exclusivity.
>Fortnite fanbase down 70%
source?
>Its ok epic is doing it now because steam did something like it 14 years ago!
I do wonder what goes on in your heads
This isnt 2005 when your best option to get some obscure game was to torrent it faggots
oh fuck

Guess Steamchads were right after all.
ok I believe you
Quote me the part where steam paid them for exclusivity on digital downloads.
The reason why I think steam is better for me, the consumer, is because they have the superior store, better UI, generally more user friendly, etc. Epic's bullshit with buying up exclusives is desperation tactics and basically trying to bully steam out of the market, that won't work obviously but that doesn't mean Epic aren't assholes. It also means that I have a very good reason to fire up a torrent client again. Finally, the example given of only a demo version being restricted is fucking pathetic, the game could still be bought off of steam and no amount of blah blah and false comparisons will change that fact.
It's not the same tactics retard, nice try though.
I've used both (from gamersgate) and it was literally zero hassle and much more convenient than Steam
>connect to the internet once and press activate
>viola, you can now play this game on this computer indefinitely, resident software or internet connection not required
>once you uninstall, the license goes back to the 5-activation pool
Literally the beginning of the 2nd paragraph. But don't worry, I don't expect you to understand it since it doesn't say what you want it to say. Keep living in your dreamworld, it's what you need to do anyway when your employer is losing it's market and eventually will get rid of you.
>>securom and starforce were better then steam
LOL THE ABSOLUTE STATE OF EPIC SHILLS. TIM, GET SOME NEW CATAMITES TO COME IN HERE AND SHITPOST, THESE FAGGOTS ARE WAAAAY TOO FUCKING OBVIOUS.
Steam isn't losing shit, the only thing the EGS is causing is an uptick in internet piracy.
>Implying any of those but cloud saves are even relevant
>having an activation pool at all
>"since it doesn't say what you want it to say."
So you're admitting it doesn't state exactly that steam paid / required for exclusivity?
There, wasn't that hard, wasn't it.
You fucking drone.
Starforce and securom were bad when they were CD PROTECTION and made it a bitch to back up your games or run them off HDD.
The later online versions were completely transparent. Also feel free to explain how they spy on you.
>Steam requested darwinia demo be taken down
>Main game no longer available on main website because introversion removed it
>Boxed copies are still shipped
>SEEEE STEEEAAAAM PAID THEM MONEY FOR EXCLUSIVITYYYYYYY
no they didnt dumbfuck
Niggers fuck off.
Its fucking 2005, loong before any of you fucking faggot were born.
This is also back when Valve have to work with them to put the game on store, essentially becoming a co-publisher, before the all important 2008 SDK that allow any publisher to release the game on Steam without Vavle direct involvement.
Expect it does, but as I wrote before, you don't want to see what you don't want to see.
Just as expected again.
>literally says they had to remove it because of the exclusivity
And another steamshill joins the fray.
So, Epic is as shitty as Steam already was in 2005.
>before the all important 2008 SDK that allow any publisher to release the game on Steam without Vavle direct involvement
You mean, just as with the EGS now? Who would thunk...
Seeing you cornered like that is delicious.
The best is, even if you were able to prove steam did that by the past, that wouldn't validate Epic's doings at all, because that happened in 2000 fucking 5.
Reminder that Valve is also holding thousands of essential mods hostage in the workshop, if you bought your game somewhere else, you're fucked.
>Expect it does,
>Chink cant into english
Also, I dont see anything saying 'we took this bag of shekels so you can only get it on steam!'
>literally says they had to remove it because of the exclusivity
>That steam never asked nor paid for
Your lack of comprehension doesnt surprise me in the slightest
>you can buy steamkeys from other distributors though
You can buy Epic keys from other distributors though
Now you don't need to be mad at EGS anymore, right mutt Steam drone? ... Right?
or Or OR
Maybe EGS should develop and implement an alternative to steam workshop on their own store
But that would involve work, wouldnt it?
That is literally not true as Workshop is like their Store; A submission and distribution page.
Its up to the fucking dev to enable it or offer it somewhere else outside of Steam.
>implying I'm cornered
>when I directly quoted the passages and you still try to redefine what they mean
I know shills always try to project in order to deflect from not having any argument or answer, but you gave up pretty early.
>80$ for an epic key to a meme game
What the everloving fuck
Either that's dollarydoos giving you away as an aussie shitposter or a very good reason to hate egs for increasing key prices outside their botnet in different areas
That's simply not true, nigga. If you buy a game you can use mods from wherever you want. The workshop makes integration a bit "easier". Then again, just coping filed from one folder to another shouldn't be that hard to begin with.
>When I directly quote the passages
>See this line? It says EXCLUSIVITY! THAT MEANS STEAM PAID THEM FOR EXCLUSIVITY! STEAM BAD! ILLUMINATI CONFIRMED!
Kek keep going
If you buy your game outside of Steam and it's not steam activated, you won't be able to download a mod off the Workshop.
>y-y-yeah, the devs don't say they remove it because of steam exclusivity
>well, expect they do BUT THAT'S NOT WHAT THEY MEAN
Keep going, lets see how deep your retardation really goes, ESLtard.
>BUT MUH SHOVELWARE
>Never mention steam imposed / paid them for the exclusivity
>Game is still available DRM-free in boxed version
>That even more invalidate EGS practice because they are doing much worse
I'll take "You're a fucking chink idiot" for 10 Chang.
It can't just be me who wants to punch Timmy in his smug face, right?
>now it's starwmans after I called him out
Never change steamshill, never change.
>well, expect they do
>Chink still cant into english
>Still misses the fact that physicals were sold
>Completely ignores the fact that valve only asked the demo be removed and intro removed the game on their own
>Ignores the fact that many games on steam are sold drm free on their own websites like factorio
Too obvious at this point chang. Keep grasping
Are you retarded?
If the author upload it somewhere else you can download it without Workshop.
There's also third party site that help fetch you the files without opening the steam, just look it up.
Except he doesn't. Multistore has been a thing for a long time. He is just trying to coat the whole exclusive anti-consumer thing by trying to go "oh look how great the others are doing too" to win some idiots vote.
How many lolis does Tim have hidden away in his basement?
>Completely ignores the fact that valve only asked the demo be removed and intro removed the game on their own
>steamshill still omits the fact that they did it because of the Steam deal
>doesn't understand that it happened in 2005 when Steam had nothing in order to compete against physicals and needed exclusives
The ESLtard strikes again.
>No argument
>Anime girl
>Waaaaah! Strawman!
Lol
Don't bother, Epicels don't care about logic and use whatever they can possibly find to shit on Valve.
What the fuck is going on with your image? It looks compressed to shit and there is zero reason for it. Fucking Epic drones can't even take a screenshot without fucking it up.
>GOG has only generated $7.8k net profit in 2018
It excluded any profit coming from their own games, which is the reason why it exists in the first place, so they get as much money as they possibly can from PHYSICAL PC copies. Yes, physical. Basically all the 3rd party games on GOG fund the entire distribution platform along with the salaries and other related costs.
>Says that fragmenting the community is bad while actively working to fragment the community himself
>implying I need an argument when you already gave up to provide any to counter in the first place
Kek, keep it up, I know therre's some more stupid shit in you that just begs to get finally out.
>steamshill still omits the fact that they did it because of the Steam deal
A deal that ever existed chang. Feel free to prove me wrong
>doesn't understand that it happened in 2005 when Steam had nothing in order to compete against physicals and needed exclusives
And this excuses epic doing this now.....how exactly?
Not every store needs to be as shitty as yors, faggot. Keep grasping
>Epic decides who can buy keys

The post about the Darwinia devs already does it. You need to overcome your fear and read it to realize that Epic and Valve aren't so different after all.
>And this excuses epic doing this now.....how exactly?
>needs to gain a foothold
Look up qwhat it means, It'll help you understand the issue.
epicniggers still trying to stir shit?
>When you already gave up
You should really stop projecting that hard faggot
No it didnt. I dont see anything saying Darwinia were paid to sell exclusively on steam
Steam didnt pay for exclusives like epic is doing now. In fact, they allowed sale of physicals freely without steam drm which is completely against your point, something stated in your own article. If they did pay for exclusivity, you need to prove it
Also here's something steam had in 2005 that epic still doesnt-shopping cart
China has been generous.
>Regional pricing
I don’t give a single fuck about this, why should Pedro from Argentina have to pay less for the game than me just because he lives in some shithole?

Unnecessary on an actually curated platform.
Who would use a storefront lacking in basic digital store front features? I'd rather buy games through fucking Etsy
>Dev too lazy to pay or make their own online authentication and download
>hurr durr muh steam
You also can buy all of those games on GmG, HumbleBundle or any sketchy third party key site.
Don't give Gaben any money and abuse his bandwidth and service!

>even Chet Faliszek is fed up with this retard to the point where he can barely hide his contempt

Why would games cost the same in ukraine and in sweden? Do you want more games to be released with denuovo cancer to fight "piracy"?
>actually curated platform
You mean a platform which has no games. A properly curated platform would not allow the "hello neighbour" sequel, and user reviews would clearly show what a trash game it is.
>Buy those games on GmG, HumbleBundle
Yeah, steam isn’t a monopoly because I can buy these games elsewhere. Wait what do you mean I still need steam to pley them?
lmao still better than 2019 Epic exclusives.
Considering you don't even bother to capitalize the letter while addressing yourself, I genuinely doubt.
>Missed the sarcasm
I think you are a 60 IQ subhuman. More specifically, a chink. Now get back to work

wut? Also tags are important so you can search through specific types of things. Some of these are necessary for a virtual storefront in general, not even for games
How can one man lie and disprove himself in the same line twice? Is he trying to take Todds throne as the biggest bullshitter on the gaming industry?
I dont think he would like that...
Seething spics.
Nothing in that archive says steam paid them, they just asked them to take down the demo, they were also still selling boxed copies, and unlike Shenmue 3 it wasn’t just a store code.
>80 fucking Dollars for a new game
>not a deluxe edition, not a collector's edition - standard
>digital, too
What the fuck.
This is the cancer you fucking digitalfags brought upon us.
You chose this future, you killed physical PC games now face the consequences.
>Epicshill automatically registers EXCLUSIVE as THEY PAID US TO BE EXCLUSIVE
>All in a desperate attempt to make steam in 2005 look like epic does now
Bottomless pit of stupidity
See for the real reason they went to steam, fucktard
>take down demo
>half a sentence before it says to take down the game because of steam exclusivity
>boxed copies
You do get paid, right? You're not really that retarded and do it for free, right?
Didn't you read what I just wrote?
Blind, plain retarded or just a fucking paid shill?
All of above?
Its not Steam fault that the devs does not want to invest into their own distribution platform, or even bother with any other bullshit store front application.
It is especially so for Japanese devs that rarely bothers with western market without paying tons for publisher. Just use the Steam open source SDK and submit to Steam without even talking to Valve or paying extra.
Why can't people make the distinction between Steam the Store and Steam the PC gaming tool?
Like I never fucking buy games on the steam store. There are always better deals elsewhere. But the Steam toolset and service is pretty much godly and will probably never be matched since even Epic is piggybacking off of it right now.
Molyneaux is the biggest liar in the industry.
Dont you dare compare Tim Swine to Quixote. Quixote is based
steam pays the devs to get it on their store
That makes them look even worse and basically equal to what Epic is doing now. But nice try I guess.
>I love GOG! Haha it's good that all of us support GOG, why doesn't Steam support GOG
>Bloodstained came to Steam and GOG
>Metro Exodus was only on the Epic Store
It was that or Captain Ahab.
>Boxed copies can’t be registered with Steam
What are you trying to prove with that, did you even read your own image?
>IT’S OKAY BECAUSE STEAM ISN’T PAYING THEM FOR EXCLUSIVITY
Functionally, what’s the the difference between payed exclusives and non-payed exclusives?
For the consumer the result is the same, only being able to play the game on a single launcher.
Room temperature IQ.
cranged.
You shouldn't talk about yourself like that. tough I applaud you for realizing it.
>dev takes down game download on thier own website because valve was gonna host it now so it wouldn't cost them any bandwidth
Oh wait. You're a stupid fucking zoomer who thinks bandwidth is free.
This is shitty behavior and I'm happy they stopped. Can an Epic shill provide me a list every games they did this for?
Good one, kiddo. I'm sure you really applied yourself there.
Because I'm worth more spics.
T. Nigger
>implying it's my image
Not only an illiterate retard, but that new as well? Besides it just shows that there was no way to remove all physicals from the store and replace them with steam codes. I know a little zoom zoom might nowt really get that, but there was a time when you could buy games in stores and they had only a steam code in them, unlike now, when you simply can't buy them at all.
>STEAM PAYS THEM TO GET IT ON EPIC!
amazing pulling shit out of your ass so blatantly.
I actually looked this up and found this google.com
Basically, not only did steam NOT pay them to become exclusive, but revenue from steam sales basically saved the devs from the brink of bankruptcy.
So steam of 2005 is actually better than epic is now
>b-but steam c-cares about g-gamers!
>keeps Proton all for themeselves
>doesnt let GOG use it
>doesnt let epic use it
Steam incel drones at it again
>this level of projection
You overestimated yourself with that room temperature IQ.
I'll use Epic store if they make Half-Life 3.
>OF COURSE STEAM SHOULD LET EPIC USE ITS KEYS AND FEATURES EVEN IF THE GAME IS NOT ON STEAM!
so utterly retarded
so epic can justify their shitty doing because of steam past shitty doing ? nice logic, retard
>amazing pulling shit out of your ass so blatantly.
>it's what the pic said
I know, English is hard and you seem to be in need of a few more lessons, but don't give up. You get there eventually.
>epic shills unironically defending securom and starforce
LOL! lil timmy you gotta hire somone better
Quixote is that one weirdo you don't want to make eye contact with.
>Gog and Epic together
The difference here is that Epic isn't actually trying to compete with Steam, it's just trying to strongarm itself a market share. It's not providing a better service. Their storefront is shit, and they haven't even bothered to respond to the accusations that their launcher is spying on users.
Price is nothing. The users that care about price will just pirate everything. To compete with Steam, you have to do something better than Steam, and so far the chinks have shown no interest in that.
Software has fixed price to make, after that it literally prints money. Refusing to adjust price to local market buy strength is sign of lack of economical education and all it does is making you earn less money. Its 100 copies sold for 60$ or 100 000 copies sold for 6$.
Even nutella costs less in shitholes. Why? Because its the only way to sell it there. By ignoring this you only support piracy. As gabe told it once: piracy is problem of service.
Its open source. The thing is nobody but steam cares about linux atm. They are too lazy to even implement linux support, they dont consider 1% of the market to be worth their time.
epic is anti linux they don't want proton
Look Lo Ping I get that your eyes are probably to slanted to read properly but the boxed copies have nothing to do with the Steam store according to that image.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO DON'T TAKE AWAY MY GAMES EPIC BULLS PRAISE GABEN
>He didnt even read the link
Here, I'll put it up for you
>Morris, although admitting that working with Valve was sometimes difficult, was clear in his praise for the platform. "I'd go so far as to say that if you're not on Steam, then you're not an indie game developer of any note," he said. "You absolutely have to be on that platform at the moment. Steam doesn't ask for exclusivity, and I know it's hard to get on there - Valve doesn't make it easy - but that's part of the challenge. If you want to run a company you have to find a way of getting your game on there."
But keep seething, epicshill. Keep seething
Why does Tim look exactly like this dog?
You can use proton on GOG.
>Open source is AMAZING! Games from my gog.com library WORK on Steam proton. I needed to edit my run scripts from my /tmp directory to point to the gog installer. Once the installation of the game is completed, I used winetricks against my proton installation to add dependencies needed by the game. I imagine you could achieve the same thing by running the installers in the game's redist directory. I plan on making a video tutorial outlining the process and posting it on Cup of Linux. I will note that the gog.com installer for DAO dropped an error at the end of the installation but the game appears to work just fine even with all of the mods I added to it.
>You can use Steam proton EXTERNALLY to install any game including your gog.com installers.
Linux users are braindead idiots yeah but you are going for the bottom of the barrel here.
>epic is stealing exclusivity for games already released on steam but are getting remastered

So... You are telling me that Epic is literally behaving like 2005 Valve?
So it does not only have 2004 level features, but also has 2004 level practises, Jesus, Epic is fucking shit.
And truth be told, this is still less egregious than Epic's shenanigans
Steam isn't a monopoly, learn the definition of words retard.
Those games could go to any platform the devs want, they just choose to put them on Steam.
mybe in 10 years it will become a somewhat relevant store
While gamepass is subscription cancer, you can atleast still buy shit on it. Streaming is a stadiabortion

I too love being a retarded contrarian
Kunoichi Botan. Fine taste, user!
How do I get paid to shill for epic?
Damn you got us user. Nobody is doing viral marketing for epic on one of the biggest gaming platforms in the world. Its all random anons shitposting for free defending epic for no reason.
Reminder that while 33~% of those sales went to GOG. 50% went to Epic. Steam probably only got like 25% of people ordering Cyberpunk there.
>Other launchers are so irrelevent that developers putting games on them is a courtesy, not a necessity.
Yep, that sounds like some fair competition to me
I don't mind that Epic is bringing competition against Steam, psuedo-monopolies are bad.
But there's not a single good exclusive on the Epic Store yet.
>But Metro Exodus
Very overrated, I'm sorry but I can never fully enjoy that game when a gritty shooter doesn't have lean. I'll stick with STALKER.
Correct. You guys love the attention
It's almost as if you didn't read what I wrote. Or maybe you didn't but are just not capable to understand it. Lets go with that, it gives you at least the credibility to not be completely retarded, just delusional.
Don't you get my Don Quijote in this you cunt.
Metro exodus is no longer a epic exclusive so they dont even have that anymore.
That's depended on the publisher. Most do it, or for a 5$ upgrade, but it's not a rule in the Steam ToS.
>Reminder that while 33~% of those sales went to GOG. 50% went to Epic.
imagine being this delusional
>Epicshills are so desperate they need to advocate for GoG
The absolute fucking state, GoG is good but it's pretty sad you need to promote other stores and STILL don't have a shopping cart.
as a consumer, the only thing I care about are low prices and convenience. and the Epic Store is ass.
You have no idea how many (you) one can get trough it.
GOG existed before Steam. There's always been multi-stores.
Seriously, is Tim actually retarded or just the stupidest snake oil salesman?
Outer Wilds is pretty cool.
But yes, I completely agree. Do they even curate the fucking games going on there because I ain't paying for early access trash no matter how much I like Supergiant.
They have fuck all good exclusives aside from maybe BL3 if you're that much of a Borderlands fag I guess?
Boxed version wasn’t a Steam code so what you were saying is fucking irrelevant.
>all of those developers chose to use steam because it was more convenient for them, they can still release their games on other platforms if they choose
vs
>devs are literally paid to only release their game on one platform and are forbidden to release it on any other
Buy off a 3rd party site for cheaper prices then what Epic is touting. Oh, and Epic removes all 3rd party key sales if the game goes exclusive with them.
Thanks, now i can finally buy hgames i pirated years ago from dlsite on steam with actual english interface and easy one point click on buy button without moonrunes.
I am looking forward to more releases. Shame a lot of very good hgames on dlsite are from japan autists who outright refuse to sell it to westeners. Is this question of pride or something?
But that's my point you fucking imbecile. Christ, I really hope you're not doing this shit for free. No sane person should behave this stupidly for no return.
>50% went to epic
>Steam is far more popular with more features and better support
>GOG is made by the same guys behind cyberpunk so they dont need to pay a cut to anybody and sold with no drm to boot
>Yet epic made 50% of sales
Only game I can think that made you pay for the updated version was Dark Souls but even that was a at a discount. I've gotten everything else for free. Mind naming some that cost $5?
>Defend Epic
>Get a trillion replies
lmao, the only reason I defend epic is for the (you)s
And BL3 is like what? Only 6 months exclusive?
I think this'll be peak contrarian for a while.
Tim looks like someone with down syndrome who has acid spilled on their face. So I'd believe he's retarded.
>Epic removes all 3rd party key sales if the game goes exclusive with them
He's desperate for attention since the 6 months to gain relevance didn't work out
cope
wwz is selling like hot cakes
dauntless is "selling" like hot cakes
satisfactory sold like hot cakes
there are more people on the egs than steam
See
> because it was more convenient for them
Lolno, its because Steam is basically a monopoly, so you must put it there.
>replying to blatant bait
Still waiting for the numbers Sergey.
Yeah and normally you would actually get a much bigger discount if Epic wasn't selling it.
>they're still competing just fine
lol
>Steam is basically a monopoly
How many again
>the enemy of my enemy
Fuck you Tim you little faggot.
SNK boss already revealed the money they get is from Epic preordering thousands of copies. So no it's just Epic bloating their own numbers up and trying to pretend it's popular.
That's a weird thought though.
When have GOG and Steam ever been enemies?
This greedy and lame fucking shill trying to latch on to GoG is making me hate Epic even more and sadly start to hate GoG a little because they're allowing it which they don't deserve.
That is Epic own games, show me third party title such as Metro Exodus, Satisfactory, Phoenix Point etc.
Dunno, maybe Steam got angry at the gog connect thing and forced them to stop?
>start to hate GoG
no reason to
>the year is 2034
>Epic is actually a basically competent game store, by standards of 15 years ago
>Steam is no longer particularly in the business of selling games
>instead, they teach an algorithm to make games based on each individual user's preference
>if you let it access your data on the Central Citizen Database, it'll make the game you always wanted to play, even if you didn't know it
>you can also play the ideal games of your friends, or fill in the parameters yourself to generate various kinds of games
>fully compatible with standard smartmatter sensoriums, as well as the Steam MMI
>EPIC BAD
>STEAM OKAY
>GOG GOOD
>LOOK WE'RE RETWEETING GOG'S SUCCESS
>THEREFORE EPIC GOOD BECAUSE GOG GOOD
lmao tim is getting desperate
>borderlands 3 is developed by Epic
Yeah, right, must've gotten that wrong.
They never were. GOG started out with more humble intentions with older games while Valve was looking towards the future with recent titles.
Doesn't this GOG Connect thing also work with Steam? So clearly GOG isn't taking a side in this war that Tim started for himself, despite the fact that he's the only one fighting it while Valve just ignores him.
The funniest shit was them stealing The Outer World from Steam, then Obsidian gets bought by Microsoft so now buyfags can just pay $7 in November to rent Outer Worlds.
ahem.
FUCK EPIC
FUCK STEAM
FUCK GOG
FUCK UPLAY
FUCK BATTLE.NET
FUCK.... er... ORIGIN!
FUCK....PHYSICAL STORES!
CDPR got a little upset because Thronebreaker didn't sell quite well on GOG (which was exclusive to it at that time) so they released it on Steam later on
other than that, nothing really
pretty sure it only allows you to get on gog a selected bunch of games you have on steam but I dont know if they're still doing it
>Although steam doesn't ask for exclusivity
Uhh epic shills????
How would his game store be called?
>EVERYBODY SHILL
>EVERYBODY SHILL
BIG MEAN DOGMAN WIP US
WE ARE SLAVES
He's unironically trying to drag GoG into the mess he started in hopes of getting that good PR smell rubbed off on the EGS. Too bad his exclusives hurt GoG as well.
A true power move from CDPR in this moment is to dab on Tim. ez marketing right there.
Why do all of his tweets sound so passive-aggressive?
>"Haha congrats to GOG this just proves EPIC needs to lock down more exclusives! I love economics!"
Who does he think he's kidding?
Unless I'm not reading this right, isn't this GOG Connect thing what Steam already does, allowing people to add non-steam games/software to Steam's library?
I remember a few months ago when you Epic shills were gloating about GOG's mediocre fiscal year and how they had to have layoffs and ended their fair pricing program, now you're latching on and pretending to be allies or some shit? Fuck off.
>wal-mart has a monopoly on groceries
Also clearly this is all an massive shill to pit pc store fronts against each other like consoles to make more money from exclusives.
Pretty much. It's the easiest PR move they can make right now.
How do i roll letters?
What the FUCK Chet you weren't supposed to step down to their level you dumb faggot
nice encyclopedia dramatica or w/e filenames, faggot
I see these numbered filenames all the time and I'm fairly sure you're going on to some meme website to search for reaction images
try to at least fake a timestamp
steam was heavily disliked, but it was 15 years ago and a lot happened
No, it's like it scans your steam profile and adds some games to your gog library just like if you had bought them on GoG
Imagine being so retarded that you dismiss a platform has to make another fucking platform look good. Nice try though chink.
It's never a necessity, they can not put them on steam too.
yeah because you should make all images you post yourself not download them from websites, right? are you sweeny tim? where do you get your images that isn't a website?
>store drones
>doing it for "free"
holy kek I can't even imagine being this pathetic
Gearbox retail published Fortnite.
Randy and Tim, a match made in capitalism.
publishers prefer steam because it is just a better platform overall, if epic was so much better then steam then why do epic have to pay big bucks for exclusivity rather then publishers moving for free
>the people shitposting in corporate "war" threads on Yea Forums are literally the CEOs of those companies
Get a load of this guy
Walmart systematically destroyed small grassroots businesses in different areas with genuinely scummy monopolistic moves.
If anything, Steam is playing too nice with other competitors. If they were a real monopoly you'd actually feel it.
>encyclopedia dramatica or w/e filenames
This isn't even bait, you're just straight up stupid.
>steveposting
You can't post that anymore, delete.
Payed exclusives can't be on other platforms and have to adhere to other terms in the exclusivity contract
Ah, okay. So basically if you buy a game on steam, add it to GOG, assuming it's also available on GOG, I can then download it from GOG if I wanted to.
Cool, I guess. Don't know how many people would want this but it's something.
>tfw lived long enough to see Yea Forums defend DRM
I shouldnt have wake up from my last surgery
fpbp
I can explain this.
Valves 30% cut isn't for show. It is used to pay a bunch of fees and costs. Epics 12% cannot pay for these, so all those extra costs and fees are dumped on the developer/publisher of the game. Who are dumping them on the customer.
The reason that games on Epics store are not cheaper despite the developer/publisher getting 18% extra from each sale is because that 18% has to go towards various fees anyway. The only difference is who is paying it.
In the case of Borderlands 3, the customer is being made to pay it. Which means Epic gets 12%, Gearbox gets 88% and you pay 118%.
i lost a million brain cells just by reading this.
He can get fucked. GOG gives you a benefit over steam with drm free games. What benefit does epic store give?
>using twitch views as a metric
Its all so tiresome
Tim shot himself in the foot. Now all the publishers have to do is tell him, "Either pay us or we won't even bother with your store" He set the precedent. I'm guessing he's just hoping the Fortnite gravy train doesn't stop running.
FUCK YOU GUYS I AM LITERALLY CRYING
THE EPIC SHILLS WERE RIGHT ALL ALONG
STEAM HAS A FUCKING MONOPOLY
Imagine being such an autistic retard that you have to dismiss everything a platform has to make another fucking platform that has literally nothing look good.
Better luck next time chink
>sensiblechuckle.gif
great game
What's sad is that I can imagine some middle-manager in a game company saying this shit.
sheesh didnt know it was that bad, as soon as br as a trend ends then epic will just go bellyup as a storefront
Except he's right. How long does it take to download a pirated GOG copy of a game? As soon as it launches on their store, anyone can buy it and put it up on The Pirate Bay. DUMB Poles obviously thought they were the good guys because "oh noooo DRM bad!" but of course they just shot themselves in the foot by making games a lot easier to pirate. Buncha retards.
I really wish we could make these jokes without wojack/feels guy. He died ten years ago.
>epic store
>curated
it's easy to curate games when you select which games to put on the store in exchange for exclusivity
There was no contract involved in your former example dumbshit.
Tiananmen Square Massacre
They still haven tencent in the back. If push comes to shove, they'll just "offer" to bail Epic out to keep store running and buy off the rest of the shares that Tim is still holding.
Why does Tom not get that epic store offers no benefit compared to steam or GOG?
Facebook is the other way. Using that same 9gag tier website that is always 0-999.jpg or png that I see for filenames, or 3a.jpg or whatever.
OH LOOK, WHO COULD BE BEHIND THIS FAGGOT POSTING?
boards.fireden.net
A different user but saved in my history, another example or whatever these retards get their images from, always the same fucking filenames, obviously hosted somewhere.
boards.fireden.net
>heh, don't mind me, just taking your tv, you should've locked your door
Fuck off garbage human bean.
Ol' Timmyboi still reckons it's 2004.
>Facebook is the other way. Using that same 9gag tier website that is always 0-999.jpg or png that I see for filenames, or 3a.jpg or whatever.
You're really going all out with your stupidity now, eh? Don't let me stop you, I like to see how dumb people really are.
okay drone
explain to me why a storefront needs so many worthless doodads when all a storefront needs to do is to be a store. can you imagine if your grocery store had fucking shit like a friends list or forums? or user reviews attached to literally every product? a fucking deli flooded with paper slips saying yeah this meat is okay 6/10? or fucking a mod workshop? for what? to mod your cabbages? fuck off
Epic is the only storefront left that understands that simple is best
CDPR should have excluded Epic Games for maximum brownie points.
Genuine question, how much do you get paid to shill epic store per hour?
They still have the Unreal engine to bail them, who knows how Tencent would react though, but yeah. Right now Epic is a timebomb.
They lost all good PR they could've gotten which means that they have to improve their store faster than it takes for Fortnite to go under.
yeah imagine if a store didnt have a shopping cart and i had to run back and forth to get everything i wanted
Typical epictard making shit up.
Explain why the EGS doesn't even function as a store.
The setup is too good.
>what bloat
>Functionally, what’s the the difference between payed exclusives and non-payed exclusives?
Steam didn't sign a contract for timed exclusives, in exchange for paying money
>mfw realizing that my steam account is probably older than some of the kids shilling epic on here
Perfect reply.
The irony in all this is that Steam and Valve are fully catering to the Chinese market now, while all the brainlets here are spamming Tiananmen Square Massacre when someone mentions the Ebin Store. It's Drumpf and Israel all over again.
Keep defending your masters drm cuck
Doing that would run counter to their goal of unifying all launchers making them look like hypocrites while bringing more attention to EGS
And like it or not, EGS has exclusives. Even though the reason is scummy, they need to be integrated in.
On the plus side, now EGS must keep getting new exclusives because if they dont, nobody will buy games from them
I actually laughed out loud, good job user
This is either bait or a really desperate attempt at trying to not sound retarded, your comparison is so retarded that I honestly pray that you're being ironic and that you're not actually on the same intelligence level of a potato.
Okay, and how does there being a contarct effect the consumer?
If there was no contract with Epic for metro but it was still exclusive, it would be the same.
If there was a contract with valve for DMC5 it would be the same as it is now.
okay drone now lets take your example:
Imagine that you can only buy one thing each time you go to the store.
The sad thing is everyone wants a piece of that chink pie.
Not the same thing brainlet. It's more like buying a car. Do you buy several cars at once?
it makes every purchase more personal and thoughtful
it shields you from predatory marketing schemes
Look, shithead. The fact of the matter is, Epic is acting like it needs to compete with 2004/2005 Steam practices when what they really should be focusing on is offering a better service than their current iteration of the store. The fact that Steam did that shit back in 2005 when barely any guidelines on how to run a digital storefront existed does not excuse Epic doing the same shit now when people have less tolerance for that kind of bullshit tactic. It's like saying that launching a car with no breaks in 2019 is fine because the first car prototype ever made didn't have breaks.
this roadmap was posted at the start of 2019
they still dont have a search function
imagine
>simple
>Steam pulls devotion to not piss of their master Xi
Reminder that Epic and Valve both bow to their Chinese masters.
EGS itself is a predatory marketting scheme
>grocery store
>car
ok buddy.
>Its more like buying a car
Ok, retarded as it is,lets go with that
I like driving my car for years on end. I also love upgrading and mo-
>No mod support
>No cloud saves
>No reviews
>No community
Yeah no fuck off
EPIC DOESN'T EVEN HAVE S SHOPPING CART HAHAHAHAHA
>buying a game is like buying a car
yes, I too would buy one game at a time because it is hard to cart off multiple games
You forgot feature: download and play game
the developers pulled it out themselves
I hope people are just pretending to take a side in this thread. I really hope you're not actually getting emotionally invested in this dipshittery.
You'd think a search function would be built into the fucking thing from day one.
>buying a game is like buying a fucking car
just how poor are you?
i guess mainland china is pretty much Afrika tier
>car analogy
>that completely misses the point of gaining a foothold in the market
>Either that's dollarydoos giving you away as an aussie shitposter
GMG lists AUD next to the price in that case.
How can someone be this retarded is above me. How hard are you sucking Tin Sweeny's cock and how much is he paying you.
Why are you buying cars at a grocery store user
Epic is literally buying off exclusives from steam and having people announce it.
All the "steam exclusives" you mentioned never mentioned being exclusive to steam as a selling point.
Stop trying.
Why tough if they have only 3 games to search for? They probably didn't think far enough ahead that it could become a problem once the catalog grows.
How much deeper can you dig yourself?
>They never said it was exclusive so it doesn’t count
It’s still an exclusive you fucking retard. Just because they don’t advertise it as so doesn’t mean it isn’t
You wish it were that easy
How the fuck are you supposed to gain a foothold in the market if you launch with already obsolete software and take forever to get vital fucking features in? No, dear Epicdrone, I believe I perfectly illustrated why Epic won't get a foothold in the market with that analogy, you're just too stupid to see it.
yes steam does that very well too.
Not my problem that you NEET whales buy 10 games at a time. Video games are for children who buy games on their allowance, not state funded.
>All these steamtard cope against gog
Daily reminder steam gets the rope first tick tock faggots daddy Tim is coming
Do you literally think announcing that you moved to epic from steam because you were paid money for it is a good pr move.
Actually made me laugh. Nice one
Because it changes who is to blame, you bonehead. I'd love DMC5 on GoG. But I have to take it up with Capcom not Steam.
>using the same shit valve used to gain a foothold
If it doesn't work, what's the harm to you? Oh, right, there is none, you just can't stand the possibility that daddy gaben might lose marketshare and you your shilling job.
>Moving goalposts
Like clockwork
>Epictards are uncreative and only use wojaks
also why suddenly hide behin GOG when just a few weeks ago you where trashing it and calling it ''non competition''
No, its an absolutely terrible pr move, but my point still stands.
you're just backtracking because you used a fucking retarded analogy and when everyone called you out you went and called everyone neets
stop trying at this point
You need to ask your Epic manager to give you a new script. This one is clearly not working.
Their sale tanked HARD
i knew Epic shills where far behind but i didnt know their minset where still at the 1980's
>for most people it's more like buying a car than buying groceries
>tell the brainlets why most people act like this
>MOVING GOALPOSTS!!!!!!
fuck off retard
GOG is the only store I use on PC.
Fuck everything else.
It wasn't obsolete back in 2004 though, AND Valve actually did work to update their client, even then. Or are you genuinely trying to say that Steam launched at the same time as EGS?
Didn't GOG give out those games out of their own pocket? Or they made deals with publishers.
Steam has no say in this, gog just scans your steam account for games then gives you those games ON GOG, the only thing Valve could do is block the community API.
Shopping cart.
>for most people it's more like buying a car than buying groceries
>shamelessly showing off your single digit IQ
Kudos
>moving the goalpost this fast
Expected nothing else.
>for most people it's more like buying a car than buying groceries
I didn't know a game required a license to play and came with other costs like fuel and engine maintenance.
I didn't know a single game could last for more than a few years when you operate it.
I didn't know that you aren't a fucking retard that doesn't know how different the car market is from the gaming market.
Thanks.
More like a prehistoric mindset.
Is GOG the store that we deserve?
That's because Epic is directly intervening in the market in order to steal competition.
>Another cope
Tim literally can buy steam and dumb it afterwards
I didn't know Valve paid for exclusives.
Go back to your chinese overlords, chang.
>Comparing 2004 Steam to 2019 EGS
>Accuses his OPPOSITION of moving the fucking goalposts
Do you lack ANY self-awareness, Epicdrone?
he cant because Valve is privately owned, manwhile Tencent is gonna boot him from Epic once they have a big enough share
>>Comparing 2004 Steam to 2019 EGS
Yeah, that's what you did. Glad you see that you tried to move the goalpost. You still have to work on your self-awareness tough.
Not to defend Epic, but even physical copies are legally just a license to play a game. You never own a game.
Here you need some skeletons in your life gaben
GOG more like GOY
>boot him when they have enough shares
How can you boot someone who has the majority of the shares ? Not like Tim is poor or so and btw based retard epic is privately owned by Tim
You own either a physical or a digital copy of a game.
>long term (6+ months)
>shopping cart
>but still chasing exclusives
How can they be this fucking deluded?
>who has the majority of the shares
for now
Reminder that Epic got btfo'd after their first sale.
No, that's what you did. You're the one who compared 2004 Steam to EGS just to make EGS look remotely competitive. I just pointed out how pants on head retarded that comparison was. The only thing relevant to the comarison between EGS and Steam is what features Steam has today, not what it had back in 2004. And don't even accuse me of bringing up 2004 Steam first, because you and I both know that you did it first to make Big Daddy Sweeney look like he has a chance.
Pity GOG is pretty much bankrupt.
Yes he has the right to sell them, every private person has the right to sell their property yes.
NONONONO STOP THIS MICROSOFT
YOU WHERE SUPPOSED TO BUY THIS AT THE EPIC STORE I PAYED FOR THESE DAMNIT
>compares 2004 to 2019 to shit on egs
>somehow I did it to promote them tough
Never change steam drone, never change.
my favourite part was when they called Paradox greedy for removing VTM2 during the sale
You only own a license to play the game under the terms of said license. If you buy physical you also own the plastic the box and disc are made of.
so anti steamjusticewarrior posts are being deleted and users banned on Yea Forums now?
great board you've got there.
congratulations
OH GOD
Isn't valve busy developing neural interfaces while EGS doesn't even have a shopping cart?
Well the main goal of Tim is destroying Steam and Jewben, Microsoft is just a good scapegoat :)
you can leave any time you want :^)
NO TIM DONT DO THAT NOOOO DELETE NOW I CAMT TAKE SKELETONS MY CHINESE MASTERSESS NOOOOOO
opposing MS was Tims first mistake
with every Xbox game on steam who's going to even bother downloading EGS
BTFO
T
F
O
it's not Valve the one that's owned by chinks
>Compares 2004 Steam to 2019 EGS to shit on Steam
>Get reasonably told that the comparison itself is retarded since it's not 2004 anymore
>LOL UR THE ONE MOVING THE GOALPOSTS NOT ME I T-T-TOTALLY DIDN'T COMPARE 2004 STEAM TO EGS TO MAKE EGS LOOK BETTER!
Man, you sure must love those social credits points, comrade. Pity that you also have the memory of a fucking goldfish.
these 2 posts are always made not far from each other
make your samefagging less obvious next time
>mfw the gears of war collection is steam exclusive
Oh well another game made by Epic that's not on the epic store
yay. i cant wait to dedicated several gigs of ram to all these launchers at once! and i cant wait to have to stop what im doing to find out what client is currently downloading updates!
>Microsoft trying to force something
Literally doa like windows phone, uwp and other bullshit, btw halo got delayed for some months tho lol
lol
This, fuck tim sweeny
Well neither is owned but valve literally sucks more chinese dick
Valve censored skeletons out of Dota because of Chinks you stupid cuckolds
>and the next poorly tough out attempt to move the goalpost and redefine what actually happened
>everyone who doesn't follow my line of tough is a chinkshill
Normal people would simply admit a mistake and move on, yet you keep on going with whatever was programmed into you even when direct evidence that proves you wrong stares in your face. Almost admirable if it weren't so incredibly stupid.
>every Unreal game is on Steam except the abandoned UT4 Beta
>Bulletstorm is on Steam
>Jazz Jackrabit is on GoG
>Gears series will be on Steam
>all of this are literally not on Epic
how do you fuck up like this? how do you start a game store and not put your own games on it first?
Cope more you fucking faggots
>valve sucks more chinese dick
This post was typed by Jewish hands. Fuck you Mr. AAA shill, I only give my shekels to indie games.
MS forcing nothing
btw every ''feature'' of the EGS got delayed by like a fucking year lol
Because they have to add the manually and it'S too much work. Stealing exclusives is more important.
Cope
Too busy manually adding fortnite updates.
Easy money for epic
See Not that guy, but you literally made this post to compare epic to 2004 steam as if that would justify anything, and you didnt even do that right
>chinkie still seething and samefagging
keep posting Chang, they might free your family for Xinjang Uyghur soon
Add to the fact Epic has no other games being made or any other game to profit from except Fortnite. Yet Valve is the ones who "needs" to make games again.
>now he(you) pretends he's another user
>implying I made the first post
Not only retarded but a newfag at that? Nice combination, my sides look forward to read even more stupid shit from you.
Ah yes, the good old "I see his point, but x makes the statement invalid despite being superficial".
As for this thread in general, I'd say Epic would be a threat if they weren't utterly incompetent. They're too disconnected from their actual userbase to beat Steam, because they're so far up their own butt they think that's the route to go. I can get behind what GoG's doing though. Many projects tried, but a lot of them are stuff like built into Steam, or some Github repository that doesn't hold as much utility. "it's just a shortcut launcher that never really gets updated". I think GoG offers a middle ground, honestly.
i take no shill seriously that says that
Epic abandoned abandoned Unreal Tournament 4, Paragon and even the original Fortnite Save The World
and yet these shills keep saying Valve needs to make games?
why doesnt Epic finish games?
>Saying partners to investors who throws money at you
>You still doesn't give a fuck about cn because you are based Tim and cn is already forced to throw money at you
>Be Jewben
>Actuall suck cn dick
>Be steamdronetard
>No he doesn't suck cm dick
>Because....
>It's our saviour jewben...
Kill yourself
>Gets utterly btfo
>ad hominems galore
Keep copeposting, faggot. You'd honestly earn more credit points by visiting your parents at this point
DIGITAL STOREFRONT COMPETITION IS A MEME
A CUSTOMER THAT EVENTUALLY USES THE EGS WILL STILL USE EVERY OTHER STOREFRONT --- NO STORE GETS HURT BY THIS
WHAT STEAM IS DOING IS TRYING TO EXPAND THE ACTUAL CUSTOMER BASE BY TARGETING EMERGING MARKETS AND PIRACY --- EVERY STORE BENEFITS FROM THIS
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT RACES
Cope more faggot
the denial is strong in this one
>still clings to the delusion that he didn't move the goalpost
Keep it up, I know there's more retardation inside you.
What the fuck are you talking about? The changed skeleton king because of the blizzard lawsuit but that was years ago, no other skeleton heroes were changed.
Getting btfo is strong with this one
Steam > Epic
Get BTFO, shills
fucking this
why are all of these faggot game journos and tim saying that steam is hurting the industry when they're the ones trying their hardest to help it out?
>No u!
Lol this is amazing
Yeah but based Tim pays for my games so I can pirate them guilt free, so he has my support.
Imagine being an epic games chinko
>now he repeats himself
It is, but not for the reasons you think.
Epic doesn't finish games because they don't have enough faith in themselves.
Valve don't finish games because they aren't critical enough of themselves.
If I can see good games come out of the I'm interested in, cool.
>Steam tries to kill piracy
>Epic tries to save piracy
Bros...
I think we know who we should support.
Chink some more Lee
>Epic doesn't finish games because they don't have enough faith in themselves.
more like because they dont care about old IPs
>Valve don't finish games because they aren't critical enough of themselves.
More like because they are lazy
Tbh the only redeeming thing about Epic.
Valve is making games and a few have released, it's so far not what people want from them but they act as if Epic wouldn't make another GaaS trashfire like they've done 2 times already.
That's a strong cope, Dota characters like drow, brew are literally blizzshit copies only Skelleton King got the rope because of china its old news.
>emerging markets
Try harder steam drone.
You know what "emerging market" Epic has targeted? Console players and the next generation of gamers. Epic wins again.
Man, the butthurt is strong in this one
>chinkshill thinks he's winning something
Oh no, Ive lost! I'll be sure to cry and whine about it as I play the dozen games I got off steam during their sale for chump change while you keep bragging about how epic is gonna kill steam, overthrow the monopoly and save the industry without the useless fluff that is shopping carts or cloud saves
Top kek
Makes sense. Same reason why Windrunner was changed to Windranger. It has nothing at all to do with a WoW character of the same name, or a Diablo boss that looks like Skeleton King
Sorry but I don't see what makes Valve lazy when they spent much of their recent time developing hardware to play their games like Nintendo does. They weren't making games for that time due to this.
man how has hardly anyone noticed that that's Chet Falisek and pointed out who that is. Is Yea Forums all zoomers nowadays?
Hardware that is fucking garbage.
People are refunding the Index by droves.
Cope you drone.
>more like because they dont care about old IPs
Nah, they didn't have enough faith in Paragon to add community servers before they shut down their own. Or continue development on it. And Unreal Tournament died once they smelt the VBux.
>More like because they are lazy
They've been constantly developing stuff internally for forever from the looks of it, but cancel a majority of what they try. And internally, Valve doesn't particularly beautiful (Gabe firing the staff that was making HL3, further putting it into development hell).
I mean, in general, they're doing more than Epic with less staff. (VR hardware and software, continuous Steam updates, constant content stream for CS:GO and DOTA). But to be fair, Epic doesn't really have much of a framework ready.
I think my points still hold up. And in regards to Valve, Gabe might be the issue more than anything. No reason why a studio should be stuck in a constant stream of development hell for this long, unless something went really wrong.
>still goes with the chink card for someone not agreeing with him
Seeing you cornered like that is just delicious.
The best is, even if you were to simply link the posts that claim what you say, it wouldn't invalidate that 2005 and 2019 are simply not the same.
Yeah it's garbage but it doesn't make them lazy you fuck. Besides the Index isn't what I'm talking about.
You fucking cock sucking faggot stop sucking the fatfucks dick and get your brain straight, Skelleton King was already censored in china back then before the WK change (it was a huge mess), it was easier to change the whole modell for hats compatibility reasons.
WHERE IS SOURCE 2
YOU PROMISED IT 4 FUCKING YEARS AGO
FOR ALL TO USE ANT NOT JUST YOUR SHITTY CARDGAME
Index is the only hardware they have you shill. And it's flopping hard.
So you agree with me? Well, looks like the drones do get it right sometimes. Tough I suspect more by accident then by understanding the issue.
Imagine being retarded
Fuck you, Tim. Why'd you have to bring console war bullshit to PC?
HEY
DOTA Underlords runs off of Source 2. Apologize.
Source 2 is under heavy development still and it's rumored that Valve is releasing HLVR this year running off of Source 2.
>Changing the topic
Pathetic, but lets go with it
>it wouldn't invalidate that 2005 and 2019 are simply not the same
Agreed. So why is EGS getting exclusives, fucking up sales and not improving their store with the bare necessities that are considered baseline for video game stores like automatic addition of games to the storefront, shopping carts and cloudsaves? Why does Sergey default to 'bu-but steam in 2005!' when asked about this?
I eagerly await your butthurt cope post
A launcher for a launcher for a video game.
Truly the future!
Dota 2 uses it and 3 other in dev games are using it.
I think the issue with Valve is that they simply shifted focus without bothering to tell anyone. All people want from them is good games but they keep betting harder on hardware.
Which is understandable since it's a big market and there are enough gaps for Valve to strive in, but they're not really in development hell. It's just that their work structure lends itself more towards new ideas get bonuses, maintenance on those ideas doesn't get bonuses so devs have less incentive to actually stay with a project for long periods of time, at least in the software development side, I don't keep up with their hardware side. Are the Steam consoles or whatever they were called still a thing?
I think Dota2 is also running on Source2, although I think Valve seriously needs to up their game if they want Source to even come close to competing with Unity/Unreal/etc.
It's the second time you got btfo but you are still thirsty, you should suck more chinese dick like your master gaben :)
absolutely based
Sergey used Twitch viewership to claim people are interested in World war z despite the fact they paid a well known streamer to shill the game for 2 days before it died off.
Uyghur reeducation camps.
>GOG
good
>Epic
not good
Dota 2, Artifact, and Underlords are all using Source 2.
Also I think there's also some weird shit going on with CSGO regarding Source as well but I don't really follow that game much to know.
>it's flopping hard.
It never intended to be a consumer product, they stated as much. It's more for super enthusiast, developers, and enterprise use. They even stated one of its points was to set the standard for future headsets as price goes down.
You really want to push this angle without any research.
The higheset percentage of people working on Valve I recall are game software, and they have their hands full. But you know, Valve and cancelling projects is a thing.
Valve are still updating Steam OS and trying to make gaming better on Linux. If that goes anywhere, your guess is as good as mine.
In an interview, they said that Source 2 is likely to be worse than Unity in some regards, better than others, and view it more as a tool that suits their needs. Which is probably more in line with what Source 1 was. Not every game engine has to be structured like Unity or Unreal, or chase that same market share..
>implying I changed the topic wehn you tried to do it constantly after getting btfo with the first reply
>Why does Sergey default to 'bu-but steam in 2005!' when asked about this?
You tell me Epic shill. The fuck do I know what your employer does. But at least you accidentally aknowledge that your store is a fucked up mess. That's a beginning.
>gets btfo so badly he immediately strawmans
Every fucking time. What is it with chinkshills who just can't admit that they've fucked up?
They back port features from Source 2 to Source 1 with CS:GO.
Danger Zone is seriously stressing Source 1, though.
Did they even explain the difference between Source 1 and 2?
Tim likes to compare himself to GOG but he's more akin to GFWL, which everyone fucking despised and agrees is one of the worst things that ever happened to digital downloads. At the very least, games that release on Steam later won't be using Epic I guess, so congratulations, he's slightly less bad than GFWL, which is an accomplishment I suppose.
>Tries to move the goalpost but can't because user is kills him with another
Learn to read based retard and now spell it with me " J e w b e n l o v e s c h i n e a s e c o c k, h e c h a n g e d a f u c k i n g h e r o b e c a s e of c h i n k d i c k" now without coping :) still not enough ?
I actually only remembered now that Epic only has timed exclusivity.
What're the first games from Epic that are coming to Steam and GOG?
>Tencent owns 48% of Epic
>Timmy then sells 10% more of the company to other investors
>Tencent now only claims to hold 40% and Timmy never once makes a decision over them
???
Satisfactory and Metro
Why is Tim such a bold faced liar?
>chinkshill finally gives himself away
>tries to project on top of it
I don't think your great leader will be pleased with your rather pisspoor performance in this shill thread. Better luck in the next one, you'll need it after your score gets fucked for this one.
>The one you replied clearly compared 2019 epic with Steam 15 years ago.
>You call him steamcel and saying he doesn't know the history when CLEARLY he stated that.
Man, Epichingchongs are the pigs of the internet now, they can only shout SWEEEEENY SWEEEEENY.
>Trust me bros
Not really. I'm not Valve News Network so I can't just readily dump you the specifics. But what I do know is
>much better Hammer editor, has frigging fbx support finally
>rendering engine that doesn't die in a room that isn't a corridor
>VR support and specific optimizations
>New UI system that doesn't lag your game whenever you want to pause
>More modern material and shader workflow (this is rumor tier I think tho)
>New Physics engine created by Valve called Rubikon
>In general less annoyances in content creation (Source 1 was a mess)
Which, I mean each of those is a big deal. If they can actually document their SDK and offer it readily available, that by itself is a massive step up. But really the fact that Valve uses Unity every now and then for VR stuff implies its still under heavy development.
He has enough money to buy shills to make it look as if people support him.
But I don't trust Tim.
Will I be able to transfer the license key to Steam or are they locked to my Epic account?
You should stop trusting your brain user, it's clearly bullshit
Remember when people kept spamming for months on end before E3 that Epic was going to announce Bloodborne and RDR2 for the EGS? And the only thing they got was fucking Chivalry 2 and some chink game?
What went wrong?
He thinks everyone is apathetic and ignorant.
You fucking wish, as if they'd let you
>Valve and cancelling projects is a thing.
That's part of the thing, they might actually be developing really cool stuff but five minutes before announcing it, they decide "nah, cancel it"
It's worked in the past with TF2 starting out as something completely different and 10 years of development got us a game that lasted 10 years and keeps going, but still.
>Not every game engine has to be structured like Unity or Unreal, or chase that same market share..
I agree and SFM is a good equivalent to animation software. Not really meant to be used outside of a learning tool or fan stuff, but Source 2 could be much more powerful, at least to match other modern engines, and Valve could do a bit of to incentivize devs to use Source.
There is way too much money to be made on Steam with Red dead and Epic cannot pay them for the potential losses
epic can't even get BL3 for a year exclusive, you think they can actually bribe all the big name developers for more than that?
I wouldn't be surprised if we got 3 month exclusives at some point in the future.
The Borderlands deal sounds like 2k doing that more then Epic not paying them enough.
They can't afford anyone bigger than Gearbox, who's CEO is not only corrupt as well but Gearbox is likely still feeling the burn from Battleborn.
Gog is dying thankfully. Epic Store can keep all the AAA garbage it wants, I have zero interest in another fps of the bunch
Shenmue 3 looks like hot garbage not just by what they've shown but by the development team flying through 7 million in kickstarter funding and needing to sign with deep silver to make the rest. If they had no viable funding source aside from Kickstarter, you can imagine how fucked the leadership is at Ys net. Chiv 2 is irelevant after Mordhau
>steam's days are numbered
I don't think I will be abandoning my library of 557 titles any time soon, unless EGS offers to give me the same titles.
He says as he works to further fragment the gaming community.
Sweeney is such a massive shitlord.
GoG is dying due to their overly strict curation and the fact no big players want to put their games on it due to no DRM. CDPR making and selling their own big titles is the only way they make any money off the thing. Thronebreaker was exclusive but was forced to Steam after a month because nobody bought it.
>make fun of GOG's struggling sales because CDPR hasn't released anything big recently
>pay people not to release games on GOG
>and then call GOG your ally against Steam
Gog is dying because it doesn't offer anything at all. You skip a launcher, yay, but actually no you need to install galaxy if you want all the features. You can't never take advantage of the games being drm free without breaking their tos as sharing is against the rules and might get you banned. Steam has family sharing with is exactly the opposite. When you buy on Gog you are doing them a favor and getting just a link in return, a link that will soon go 404 I'm sure
>and gives developers a better deal
WHO THE FUCK GIVES A SHIT ABOUT THE DEVELOPERS
Exactly. They didn't give a shit about the consumer base so why should anyone give a shit about them?
This, letting low effort devs get even more profit doesn't make me care in the slightest because in the history of capitalism giving business cheaper operating costs has never really reduced prices. They will just make more money and continue to fuck us all over.
lmao fucking anime tier villain
Hell, it's not even the devs getting the money, is the CEO giving himself a bigger bonus while still seeing the people actually making the games as disposable.
The piece of shit tried to buy Cyberpunk for his crappy store but GoG told him to fuck off. I hope that pedo looking cunt gets gang raped by a pack of niggers.
>Gog is dying
/thread
That's terrible, we will never have true drm free until Gog dies
>GoG hiring employees is now a sign that it's not dying
Telltale hired like 250 people too in their last year and look what happened to them.
>Steam's days are numbered
Doubtful. If anything it should improve things as they won't be the sole PC game distributing system anymore. If they wanna stay on top, they're gonna have to outdo their competitors which will spur them into improving things to fight back against Steam.
>only reads the caption
Yes, you truly belong in here
GOG IS DYING
EPIC WILL WIN
That is 1st party software fucktard. Why isn't Fortnite on steam by that logic?
>2005
It's hilarious how far you slime-emitting invertibrates had to dig to find something, anything at all, that could resemble a 'steam exclusive'. You go back 14 years and you find one instance and it's not even something that was cut in a deal. The devs just found it would cost them considerably less to not host the game themselves.
>steam starts
>nobody wants it
>buys exclusives to gain traction
>everything is good because it's based gaben
>Epic does the same shit for the same reasons
>now it's bad because it's not based gaben
It's not really hard to understand tough I'm not surprised in the slightest that steamdrones still fail to grasp it.
Yeah that's *totally* comparable to repeatedly fucking over people and devs to sate your own insatiable greed and evils. Totally!
I'm glad you agree. There is still hope for you to escape steams monopoly clutches.
>say something untrue
>everyone tells you that you're wrong
>repeat the untrue thing you said, pretending that any evidence to the contrary is just some misunderstanding
This is what government censorship does to your brain.
Communism: Not Even Once
>believes monopolies are evil
>supports the only marketplace on PC that fits the description of a monopoly
You guys are all fuckin bananas.
>>say something untrue
Where?
>>believes monopolies are evil
>he believes they're good
>implying supporting Epic is bad then
This is a triple falseflag or something, right?
Well, you know the post I quoted? The post IT quoted pointed out that your one example of a "Steam exclusive" wasn't really anything like what Epic's doing.
Hell, Valve had its own first-party games, pretty popular ones too, and THEY weren't Steam exclusive. You could get them on Steam, of course, but they were also sold in brick-and-mortar stores. You know, with the game executable actually stored on the disk you could buy. 2004 sure was wild.
Thread's dead so thankfully I don't have to play this stupid game with you anymore. See
Ciao, satan.
>he knows he gets btfo so he gives up before
Yeah. Valve fulfills 5 out of 6 but you knew that, which is why you won't even try to argue against it. Thanks for proving me right little drone.
Nothing you said contradicts what I wrote. Keep seething valve drone, it won't do you any good, but I know you want it since it makes you feel even a little alive.
