You can see how many times a level has been played in multiplayer versus on the "more info" page for that level.
Pretty sure each of them still count as a separate like and or dislike.

What's the point system like in A rank and above? B is about +60 for winning and -20 for losing, so just have to play above average to progress, but I haven't seen any farther yet.

Fast course where you enter a fleet of airships and use their own cannonball salvos to traverse the skies and make it to the next airship. Good timing required.
Desert Chomplex: Haven't played enough MM to know what the deal with this is, but Bowser Jr. sometimes throws shells which kill the Chain Chomps, making the stage much easier. Not sure if intended or not. Great level, though. Very professional!

Well, thanks for trying. There's only so much you can do form calm sections in a "don't land" condition and from what I've played mine is the only one that actually gives you a chance to rest, but I tried designing the stage to feel like a nonstop climb to the top while letting you fail without dying right away.

I like this level just because I think it's fun that you eat fish with yoshi but I'm too annoyed by the part where you spit shells at the blocks to keep playing. If you're close enough to be accurate then the shell hits yoshi on the rebound, and if you go without yoshi you can't walk on the spikes, I just can't be asked.
Thanks for playing. I thought that part was annoying too, but then i remembered that it gets harder so i kept it in. The trick is to either shoot and grab the shell immediately, or hit two blocks at once.

My first 3D world stage, so I really tried to push what you can do with some of the new enemies and mario's new moves. Lot's of precision jumps, but you can recover from most falls with wall jumping rather than instant death.
I promise the next two levels I'm working on are SIGNIFICANTLY easier. This one was more self-servicing.
Played a few stages last night, and will play any replies and a few more tonight too. I have to say the general build quality around here has gone WAY up since launch. Great work everyone!

Probably gonna attempt it on my day off. Kaizo levels require a lot of time, but they feel really good when you succeed. I beat Barb's Terminator level a while back, and even managed to beat it before a high level streamer did, so that made me feel pretty good.
4 years of mario maker and japs are still making nsmb levels that are all shitty speedruns or enemy spam

The hammer bro is rng shit but is pretty easy to get by by damage boosting. The section with the red coins should come before the checkpoint imo because otherwise you have to keep doing it when you die which is likely due to the cannon spam in the next section and no powerups inbetween. I don't know what comes after because I couldn't be bothered to to the claw section again. Also you should take a bit more care with the aesthetics of the level.

You activate it by entering a door on the first frame after picking up a powerup, then taking damage, or picking up a different powerup before the exit door closes.
The first part also causes held objects to reset.

I wouldn't worry to much about play to like ratio. Most fags on endless skip and/or don't like so the more exposed to endless the worse the ratio unless your level is actually amazing enough to warm the hearts of the soulless endless players.
Be certain of what you want before deleting a course because you lose maker points. It can be good to leave old courses up for all the further helpful criticism you may sometimes get from the rare people who post it in the comments.
I'd say one like to every five plays means you've made a perfectly average course, one like to every four plays a good course, and one like to every three players a great course, and one like to every two players a fantastic course. One like for ever player would be a 'Most Popular' tier course. I think your first course is average and your second course is good.

AJKoalaful is probably the one who has played the most of my levels
Mondo, Suraimu, Michileus and Riserisen are pretty based too
First screen is an ok, looks like a hiest but the fact that you can kill the koopa with a fire flower and just get locked out is a bad design choice. Second screen is weird because its a heist yet you bombard us with a ton of enemies, which I think for a hiest should go last but its not crazy hard if you damage boost. Next part it probably the most okayist. The third red coin is a bit of an ass to get due to the spike and waiting for a good firebar time but its doable. Its also annoying if you some how fuck up the P switch door but that usually on the player.
Then the level goes shit. The room after the key is ok, the sewer part and safe are alright. The bullet room is doable but annoying if you die. Then you get to the pipes and I have no fucking idea what to do. Banzi Bill is too high large to jump over. Each pipe is a troll. Bam it hits you, the spring. So you basically troll people because you know they wont know the first time to bring the spring. Then BAM, at the end another troll at the end.
Basically is barely fits the theme, its only sort of fun at one part, and it tricks the player multiple times. Basically its garbo.

Not bad. Probably doesn't have alot of likes because the first section can be tricky so people probably just skip it.
I made a trilogy of puzzle levels that were intended to be comfy instead, going from medium to easy to hard. You have to figure out how to kill an enemy in each room. Please give puzzles another chance.

More of a survival run than a puzzle solver, you will have to work harder to win in this one.
I like the aesthetics of milly!'s courses, but they are far too frustrating to me. They're full of enemies and the huge amount of cannons and bullet bills spawning in makes everything really unpredictable and some jumps impossible without some luck. The fact that there's a lot of places where you get stuck with Super Mario doesn't help either.

Keep in mind I don't mean stuck as in "can't progress". I'm talking about spots that require careful jumps where either the start or the end is just two blocks high. For example, at the end of the sublevel of the spaceship course you have to jump into the little nook to the pipe while avoiding the saw, but since the gap is only 2 blocks high (and the upper half was obscured due to the motion from the camera in airship scenes), I just hit the ceiling instead and fell into the sawblade. It feels like while the appearance of the courses has been refined a lot, the gameplay seems to lack the same amount of care and there's a lot of little moments where it doesn't feel like a lot of playtesting has gone into them.

ALRIGHT, I've been listening to all of your criticisms and I have (hopefully) finalized my puzzle level!
Q1S - M17 - FKF
I have ditched the whole "Left side puzzles/Right side boss fights" and made the whole thing a puzzle gauntlet. I have changed some areas to be MUCH less frustrating and entirely revamped some areas to be less braindead to beat. I also removed every potential soft lock area and added a checkpoint in the middle of the gauntlet to lessen frustrations.
It's an EXTREMELY long level so some of you may dislike it as you might spend about 15 - 20 minutes in it trying to memorize how each one is solved.
The difficulty of the puzzles scale as you ascend so it'll start piss easy but become pretty tricky at the end.
Please let me know if you like it or not!

Thanks for the feedback. Is this just from the space station level or for all of them because I don't really like that one either but I'd lose lots of points if I delete it. I don't think I have any 2 block gap jumps in later levels.

I only actually tried that one and the sky castle one, and while I don't remember that one having this problem, it was still frustrating and some parts didn't seem that well thought out. A lot of tucked away question blocks weren't really worth going after since you'd take a hit to get there and just get a mushroom from them, and the cannons just felt like an extra layer of hazards that did nothing but make it more dangerous to move too much. I actually quit that one at the first checkpoint flag because I couldn't figure out a timing with the cannons at the beginning where I wouldn't get hit by the big red cannon.

It's a nice creepy stage, I love this theme, but after you pick the superball mushroom the music became a little too happy
Hmm. I like to make the mushrooms a little bit dangerous to get other than the first one so you have to work a little to get the security of an extra hit. I think cannons making it more dangerous to move is kind of the point of them in most sections. That red cannon section I tested quite thoroughly so you can definitely do it repeatably without getting hit, big or small. I like to make my levels a little bit awkward so a player has to be very careful which is probably what you find frustrating. But thanks for the feedback I'll keep it in mind when I make my next level.

At least consider using pipes with mushrooms in them with segments the player will have to do repeatedly before getting the timing right so they have a chance to retry without wasting a life. It doesn't make the execution any easier, but it won't hurt your clear rate as much.

on/off platforming sections are usually cancer but they are super useful in contraptions or gating off areas to facilitate exploration (in appropriate levels)
That's why I don't like them, they muddle the platforming, and platforming is what Mario is supposed to be all about

You're a soldier and have to cross a battlefield to infiltrate the enemy base. I don't think anyone's found the alternate ending as of last night, so if you're the first one you'll probably get WR. It's not Castlevania II-tier obscure to discover.

Is there an easy way to give players a shell in 3D World? Similar to other styles where you blow up a block beneath a koopa to flip them over or have them stand on a muncher in a cloud.
And that's fine. What isn't fine is just leaving them connected to nothing.
Its better than no comment but yeah I prefer to have something typed or drawn. I only use them when I only want to say something simple like "easy" or "cool idea" and don't give too much of a shit.

God you're retarded. Please explain to me in detail the exact location you want the checkpoint to be, and I'll tell you why it doesn't work like that. The tl;dr is that A the level has a fucking win condition and B t's a short level and if I put it anywhere where it'd matter I'd make the level easier because you can damage boost through and don't need to do it all in one try which is the point of the level.
Enjoyed Spinies (liked it), Goombas didn't reallt felt like a puzzle, but it was fine. (liked it)
Every Bowser is a hassle to repeat if you die so you might want to work on that.

It's pretty good but there's a few mechanics that don't work if you try to go fast. The goombas emerging from the pipe don't show up on time, and the spike block near the koopa soon after is completely unforeseeable until u ded

its slippery so you can gain momentum. Lbp is shit because there is only 2 modes to the platforming. Slow and shitty or jank and gimmicky
I could never play LBP. floaty garbage, just downright unplayable.
Lots of semisolid platforms so falling doesn't cost too much progress. Make sure everything coming from above/below is telegraphed properly so fast players don't get blind-sided and skip. For the love of god do not make it auto-scroll

I've been considering making those blocks visible but that would make it too easy, i'll try and find a different challenge to get up to the next area.
The despawning thwomp is the biggest issue I've been having with making this level. The thwomp respawn if you go through the door that leads to it.

use cat powerup to break blocks to the side of them
Horizontal Brick Blocks can only be broken with a cat suit or hammer upgrade.

It's kinda tough since they can crawl so making a spike tunnel doesn't work. Depends if you want to turn them to small or big mario

That's fine, Pouncer tunnel is probably the 2nd hardest stage in the game, next to Stove Canyon No. 20. Wish I could have used those track blocks instead of snake block so the player would only have to duck under the spikes and not crawl. plus it would have been the shape of the pouncer, but track blocks have a fucking movement limit. WHY.

Not to my knowledge. Your best bet would be to lay the icon for the song you want along every floor you have in the sub area, then make a vertical line mimicking it above it maybe like 2-3 lines high so it doesn’t kick out from jumping. Depends on how big a sub area you’re talking about too., you might need to make three vertical lines for different jump heights, and some horizontal ones too for every area that Mario can reach

Parts of it were really good, dude. It was challenging, but at points it was fair. Try using some coins to force people to slow down and look around at some points (especially with the chain chomps at the very end). The Bowser Jr fight is pointless -- the whole thing can (and should) be skipped. Maybe pack that boss in to a less dense level. There was a lot going on in your level, and none of it was really consistent. If you focus your efforts more, you'll be a great level creator.

My first course. Spent about 20 hours making and refining it. It's a themed course with a boss fight at the end. It's challenging, but not unfair. There's an easter egg that I don't expect anyone to find, but if you want a hint: don't lose the key at the boss fight.

I have no clue what I'm supposed to do at the start, the arrows make me think i need to throw the shell up somehow (don't know if that's even possible) and the only other option i see is getting through the saws (and i don't know if that's possible either)
wear the shell (pick it up and press down) and bonk the munchers so they go on the upper platform.
this course is so broken. If you fuck up one thing, you have to start it all over again. Not very fun for escort missions. That and everything is JUST out of reach -- the munchers, the on/off switch, and the position to make the thwomp activate (which requires timing too, and if you fuck it up, you have to start over again). It's just not fun. Your level would improve massively if everything were one block lower, but it would still not fix the most major issues.
Yep that was a common thing in the old MM1 threads too, lots of folks boo-hooing that no one will play their levels then when asked to post the code they won’t. Just ignore them, if they really wanted their level played they wouldn’t pull that shit.

cleared it, nice level, it's clear what you have to do if you think about it for a bit
any little screw up basically removes the koopa, the thwomp part needs some really difficult timing to actually get the koopa to the other side, you could just move the spring further to let koopa jump to the other side on it
the idea behind it is super simple but the thwomp keeps fucking the shell
