I just tried to restart with a gunslinger build, extremely high luck and moderately high agility with everything else basically tanked. God damn I literally felt myself getting bored even imagining the intro. Played to killing the Deathclaw and was bored to tears and turned it off. I want to like this game, I really do.

Start me Up to skip the shitty intro. Has some traits for bonus.
Don't put point in sneak attack otherwise you will become stealth archer/assassin for the 213125th time.
Bring at least 2 companions with you through mods like AmazingFollowerTweaks
Use Pack Attack mod to enhance enemies AI and give them additional spawns
Use You are Special and Be Exceptional for more perks and a skill system
Limit yourself to a level cap like 60 or something
Project Valkyrie if you want more options for the main quest. Check out his other quest mods too. Overall fun but can be retarded sometimes.

This. SPECIAL is meaningless and you'll get the same perks each playthrough, the lack of a level cap doesn't help this.

Just: If you must play Vidya, do not play Fallout 4. It may be slightly better than its multiplayer expansion, The Game-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, but it is still garbage and has no real builds or interesting RP potential. Just don’t bother. Play something else. Play fucking Fallout 3 instead of a replay of Fallout 4, it’ll be a marginally better experience. Hell, even Skyrim would probably be a slightly better alternative, assuming you haven’t also played it 80 times before.

Friend of mine has a lot of success with chem-related perks. You can get Psycho Jet to last for a ridiculously long time.

I didn't mind the design of the power fist too much, I kinda like the aesthetic of it being a heavy industrial power tool. Too bad that construction power armor mod isn't the base game either because it's got a pretty awesome design to it. But you're pretty much right that it's useless past early game, not unless you play legendary lotto and just hope to god you get one with an effect you like on it.
