You can use shell spawners and make level what tests player's skill with shell physics.

flower with wings from a blue pipe, high up and somewhat challenging to reach so you still have to work to get it.
this, or a limited supply of flowers and an alternate route if the player still fucks up.
also make platforms bowser can use, give him wings, or both, so the flower area isn't just a safe zone.

Players use a lot of stupid shit for their levels. This is not one of them.

Put him inside some machine where the only threat originating from him is the fire he spits, and utilize some shell on/off puzzle in order to defeat him.
Also unrelated question but how the fuck do I get Yamamura's third level in Story Mode? I've heard you've got to "interact with Undodog's dog house" but I can't fucking trigger anything.

When the fuck are they going to fix vertical movement to focus Mario lower on the screen? You literally can't do vertical stuff quickly because you'll just bump into something that just barely came into view.

yeah I love epic boss fights where you cant die and you mash B the whole time and do nothing else because there's literally infinite power ups spawning the entire time that prevent you from dying.

SMB3 style with a huge platform of breakable blocks. i don't give a shit that it's unoriginal, it's fun.

Even I'm sick of complaining about it at this point, but I really hate levels that make you hunt down pink coins, especially if they're behind fucking On/Off Switch puzzles. I just want to run and jump, not wait for a Buzzy Beetle to walk its slow ass over to a music block. I wouldn't mind if people used it like the KONG letters in Donkey Kong Country, and doing tricky jumps to get the pink coins let you unlock a door at the end that gives you some 1-ups and drops you right on the flag pole, or skip part of the level. But most people place them like it's a Zelda game.

I had a similar level except it was just POW blocks up top... And Meowser only had one spot he could feasibly stand, forcing me to play RNG roulette until he decided to stand where I could hit him. I had 5 seconds left on the clock at the end, no lie.

Holy fuck. And this is a $60 game.

You get one maybe two power ups, and there's a power up spawner behind a difficult platforming challenge.
You'd have to go for it while bowser is still trying to kill you as well.

SOLUTION: Give them a red Yoshi so they won't permanently lose the fire power but can still die if they aren't careful.

coin collecting levels can suck my cock and balls
red coins are usually fine because those are usually in clever spots or just give you a bonus room or flagpole top instead of being required
but coin collecting is just boring

There needs to be more camera settings such as options to allow it to zoom out in certain areas.

i used to do this on one of the old mario level builders that you could play on your browser. No keys though so it would just be different sections of a level and i try to make each boss different and a unique enemy. Its pretty fun

It still trips me up that you can't move the camera up and down like you could in Super Mario World. Every time I'm on the tile set, I always end up spin-jumping in place because I forgot the R button doesn't shift it anymore.

Creators have to be able to beat their level without checkpoints, they're just passing on the pain.

I hardly ever see Yoshi in levels, much less red ones. I imagine that putting him in means you have to account for people getting a double jump and grabbing power-ups through walls, so it's too much of a hassle for most.

People would just abuse it to make level where you have to constantly look up and down to see the next platform.

Beating that prepared me for Desert Bus
Since you're forced to beat the first part without crashing at all, it makes desert bus where you have multiple tries easier

It wasn't difficult but the raw shock of seeing it again unprompted was unbelievably jarring.

First part of the level is a perfectly normal long jump level then you go into a pipe and its the first half of desert bus recreated.
