I just keep mine plugged in the cable

>He uses wireless mode
Spotted the normie "gamer"

Enjoy your input lag

all my life used cheap controls for my pc and spend some money on this, so much happines with this
sorry for blogposting

Obvious answer is that dumb Move bar in the controller that's always on and has the light integrate with "special actions" with no way to turn it off--even dimming the light to minimum doesn't save that much extra time
The real question is this; how does the whole "Headset was Disconnected" glitch continue on as long as it has?

Don't care about the battery. Just swap positions of the left stick and the d-pad and its a good controller.

I wouldn't be able to play Dante then, so fuck this

same already took too many clawpills

>blaming the LED at all
it's just a normal light that is in every single modern controller
it has almost zero effect on battery life,
the DS4's issue is combining the touch pad, motion control and a speaker, on top of bluetooth

Attached: amazing red.jpg (3541x1643, 202K)

You play too much. I go days without charging mine. Stop being a fucking loser.

Battery technology hasn't advanced in years.

this basically trumps any counter arguments

This would be a more viable option if it charged via mini usb and not micro. I've had at least 2 controllers' charging ports ruined and many more cords broken when my dog knocks the controller off my desk or something

I used to dislike this thing and greatly prefer the DS3.
Then I grew used to the shape and now I actually don't mind the touchpad at all because I never have to use it.
The fucking battery though? This thing's useless unless it's plugged in. Every hour I plug it back in out of fear it's going to die on me mid-game.

I really like it's shape and layout but the battery life is a gamebreaker.

I love it. My fav controller. Battery sucks ball though, i sold my ps4 but left the second controller to use with switch and pc (i had ps4 when i had an old pc). Switch joycons have good battery, but they don't have those nice things ds 4 has, plus i much prefer the classic button setup, it's weird that ps4 don't make much of exclusive platformers, yet dualshock is the best option for that, kinda disliked the 3ds d pad location and hate switch's even more i nthat sense.

Wait you can use it with the Switch?
Holy shit yeah.

>play games for a few hours
>stop playing game
>connect it to the system or charge dock
>its fully charged the next time you play

if youre complaining about the battery life, maybe you shouldnt play for more than 10+ hours a day.

rethink your life

this. pc gaming with wired mode on ds4 is a nightmare because a butterfly fart in Tokyo will cause the connection to drop and reconnect. wish they had a USB C connector

you need an adapter

Yeah, buy an adapter. I have one that works with pc and switch.

>maybe you shouldnt play for more than 10+ hours a day
no, fuck you
Also don't pretend the DS4 even lasts 10 hours.

Your post would be valid if the battery life was 10+ hours a day when it is in fact more like 2-3 hours.

To be honest. I just like all my controllers wired to the console.

You need to get a 3rd party dongle, but with it you can use basically any controller with the switch

>Every hour I plug it back in out of fear it's going to die on me mid-game.
don't exaggerate
a fully charged DS4 gets at around 6-8 hours
the battery icon hitting zero bars still means it has around 45 minutes, maybe an hour left

constantly re-plugging in a battery before it's drained and still in use are the quickest ways to kill it's lifespan

Attached: 5856758454463.jpg (980x551, 73K)

to be fair it doesnt include dropped inputs that happen on bluetooth occasionally, as well if you are using the headset jack it increases the lag and intermittent disconnects depending on distance

10 hours? Bullshit. I've had a controller go from completely full to flat just watching shit on netfilx with my girlfriend, not even using the fucking thing. It's pathetic.

>shounen manga/anime about firefighters
.... I had an idea of a shonen anime as a kid about music mands and they have fights and stuff with special abilities, i guess you make shounen out of anything really.

Attached: 1562547649082.jpg (255x246, 14K)

stop shitposting faggot

This is false. The ps4 slim/ps4pro generation of Dualshock 4 controllers reduce input lag compared to bluetooth with a wired connection. (the dualshocks that has light through the touchpad)

Yeah
My brook X one adapter is a little pricey but works like an idort Dream
I pretty much use 1 Elite controller for everything for PC and switch

It's made by the guy who made Soul Eater, the anime about people turning into weapons for other people to use. The first episode was great but manga readers said it gets mediocre.

Attached: pr6drHa.gif (500x281, 959K)

I think the switch in handheld mode has a longer battery life than the PS4 controller itself, it's absolute dogshit

Nobody cares about your niche game

You don’t have to lie for Sony we all know the battery life sucks dick

Attached: A9EAC4E1-BF4B-4E7B-8CDE-184979B009D4.png (615x454, 98K)

I'm not shitposting, it's the truth. Why are you defending something that is clearly not up to scratch?

>the anime about people turning into weapons for other people to use
Yeah man, i know what soul eater is, it's very popular or at least was. I hate that the main character has teeeth like that, i instantly thought of soul eater cause of that. But firefighters with special abilities and cliche behaviour fighting fire and firemonster guys is just whatever.

Depends on the game
BOTW? That’s the fight of the century.
Smash, Indies, anything optimized even semi-decently
No contest switch wins
I’ve gotten like 8 hours out of D5 Complete and had like 40% left like the fuck?
Has NIS actually gotten good at programming? Has hell frozen over?

How is it possible for a console to have a fan that so fucking loud it literally drowns out the sound from the TV in 2019?

Seriously, people complained about the 360 fans and Dreamcast reading back in the day but it was never as loud and constant as my fucking PS4.

Attached: 1532776843577.png (1240x1492, 142K)

Stupid ass light bar on top of the controller, that serves no purpose. It probably is what drains 90% of the power from the controller.

This
That shit is ridiculous
You can hear that shit 2 rooms down it’s so fucking loud

The battery life literally improved by at least an hour by changing the settings from bright light to dim light. You can't pretend like it has no effect

I wish you could turn it off completely and not just set it to 'dim'. So fucking pointless.

you two need to open and clean your ps4's and then stop being so filthy

you are actually retarded
that light bar is just a normal LED behind a bigger piece of translucent plastic
it has almost no effect on battery life, and every single modern controller has an LED just like it

My 360 was pretty fucking loud. It also melted this little stormtrooper I had next to it. I don't know if it was less or more loud than my PS4 since I didn't quite own both at the same time, and my PS4 is also obnoxiously loud - just not hot.

It's my PS3 that I've never had a single problem with

Who cares about the battery life when the usb connector is so shit.

placebo effect
I'm sure you actually timed it over multiple sittings with identical gameplay

It's the touchpad, actually.

LEDs aint shit

>let controller charge overnight on sunday
>works fine, 3ish hours a day, until saturday
The weekends it runs out faster since that's when I have lots of time to play
Did you guys open your controllers up and chew on the batteries or something?

>DS3 battery lasts like 30 hours with a single charge
>DS4 6-7 hours
What went wrong?

The fuck are you talking about you retard go to your PC and turn off the LED in the custom driver everyone has. Instant 1.5 hours extra battery life

newer ds4's are actually worse input lag when you use data over usb on ps4

>add a worthless touch pad, led lights that reflect off your TV, and meme speakers
Gee I wonder why. PS4 is like a PC with down syndrome, it's only profitable because the world is swarming with sub-80 IQ retards that buy this shit.

I did that.
I used a whole can of electrical contact cleaner too
Didn’t help at all.

no stop shitposting

The batteries in DS4s are pretty shit.
Like every other controller I own lasts like 40,60,80 hours yet this shit can’t live though an afternoon

with the LED on the amperage of power draw is 2x

This is b8 but it's true, kusonyfags don't play games. PS4 is for FIFA and kikeflix.

I've never had any issue with the controller and i got mine in like summer of 2017

Of course
Look at the 5 top sellers
It’s literally GTA and Fifa 4 fucking times

Also, from the video

Attached: Capture.jpg (286x54, 4K)

How come this thing lasts so long then?

Attached: sc.jpg (1200x675, 56K)

Why hasnt sony made a no bullshit version of this controller yet?
>No lightbar
>Replace the touchpad with just a standard button
>Get rid of the speaker
Getting rid of the dead weights would improve it beyond belief.

Some games use the touchpad as an actual touchpad instead of a button.

got u senpai

Attached: hori.jpg (1280x720, 71K)

>mean input lag
I need to see his measurement method because that makes no fucking sense.

God damn huemonkies and eurotrash.

it's testing input lag on a pc, not when the controller is wired to a PS4
that's why it's so off

Which is especially weird since the PS3 controller lasted for 9 hours per charge.

And what games are these? Most of the games I played never used that shit

Most of their exclusives use the meme features. Sony thought annoying bird screeching in the shitty controller speakers made Horizon Zero White Males good.

The only one I know of offhand is gravity rush 2, you have to make a sliding motion on it to change to moon and jupiter mode

Oh. So it performs worse when you are using the controller in a way that it wasn't intended for?

youtu.be/Cv-OOn7iYio

Nigga, I've literally replaced the fan once already, cleaned out the shit so I could see my face in it, and replaced the thermal paste.

1 year later, it's fucking loud again.

I even replaced the thermal paste AGAIN a couple of months ago because it wouldn't stop overheating in kingdom hearts 3, and it's STILL obnoxiously loud. I really hope they don't fuck over power management this bad in the PS5.

Everything

Attached: AUAWplw.jpg (400x285, 20K)

Too bad the analog sticks are too close together and your thumbs hit eachother.

the true pro gamers' controller

AstroBot: Rescue Mission also uses the touchpad. In some levels, it's just a button but there are a few levels where you use it to launch shurikens.

i dont even like the ps4 controller and prefer wired but wtf kind of slum apartment do you live in

It's like they finally stopped using plastic that feels like a dollar store action figure and had to save money by butchering the battery life.

I think Sony has a tendency to cheap out on their controllers, I've never had another controller break but both my PS3 controllers eventually just stopped working and one DS2. It's obscene that they charge so much for the DS4.

?

pretty much all Sony IPs do in some way,
Astro Bot, Until Dawn, Detroit Become Human, Tearaway and Infamous are the most drastic and use it for actual gameplay reasons
Day's Gone and Spider-Man use it for menus and maps
some are only minor things like Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War use it to pop up the HUD if you have the UI hidden

Attached: psvr astrobot.jpg (2048x1152, 986K)

Not the faggot you are responding to, but yes, I have done objective tests of this where I left the controller idle on the main screen. I gained an average of 63 minutes each time (n = 10).

what kind of slum apartment do you live in to get dropped inputs living so close to your neighbours to get interference on your controller

My DS4 broke 3 months into owning it and I was using the thing as a Netflix box so I just said fuck it and sold the whole thing. No regrets

i use to shill hard for the ds4 controller till i got a xbone controller sony are such cheap jews

Consumerism has destroyed every efficiency in the technology that the world pilfered from Nazi Germany. NASA can't even figure out how to use the rockets which got us onto the moon and spend almost a quarter of their budget attempting to reverse-engineer shit.
Consoles are the ultimate symbol of consumerism run rampant; you're paying for an inferior product propped up entirely on pure mercantile psychological tactics, artificial exclusivity, and peer pressure. You will only see them get worse with time as these companies try to find out how much you're willing to pay for things that use to be free, even necessary. The PS4 can't even play half the media types the PS3 could, and you can't just plug a keyboard into it and have it work like you could with the PS3.
While they can run a more impressive level of quality software, none of the software is good save for one or two exclusives which they dangle like bait.

So long as this industry runs on the mind of consumerism, on planned obsolescence and structured backhanded merchant tactics, you will never see another jump in quality like what we saw in the late 90s and early 2000s. There is no competition, they've all joined hands to screw you over.

its just a natural consequence of wireless, depending on how far you are, after 10 ft you might get dropped inputs occasionally, from packet loss

Not that guy but I had to move physically closer to my actual PS4 while playing Sekiro to get consistent parry timing. No completely dropped button inputs though.

ive always been 5ft at most from my console didnt realise it was this bad

>and you can't just plug a keyboard into it and have it work
but you can though

yeah i didnt say you WILL but the delay will also start to vary more

Yeah, I felt like fucking DSP until I just up and moved closer. Just sat a few feet closer to the console and the rest of the game was a breeze.

As a keyboard sure, as a method of input for gaming, only if the developer specifically allows it, which is exceedingly rare.

Then how is it the Switch pro controller lasts 10x the time the DS4 does?

Sony always wins

this is the exact opposite of what I expected, what the fuck

It lasts me around 8 hours until it's completely drained, I have a back up though so it doesn't really matter.
