There is nothing wrong with not having every pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield and not having the national dex. It's different region, different world. It's not like Final Fantasy included every monster there has ever been in every game.
There is nothing wrong with not having every pokemon in Pokemon Sword and Shield and not having the national dex...
Fuck off. You should be banned for posting such a dumbass post. Gotta catch em all? More like Gotta catch a few
Generation 5 attempted the "Only new pokemon in this region" idea but you could still port pokemon up, misconstruing the decision to not make pokemon importable as a design decision rather than jewery or incompetence is the highest tier of nincel you can be.
Ironic shitposting is also shitposting.
>"you should be banned"
>posted from soiphone
loving every laugh
It'd make sense to prohibit the migration of invasive species.
I agree. Why even bother buying a new game if you're just gonna port your old team in anyway?
Why the fuck would I own a computer in the current year
/thread
anyone who says this has never played a pokemon game before
For me it’s “why bother buying a new game if I can’t bring my bros”
I have played all the pokemon games, user.
>he forms intimate relationships with sprites and numbers
?
I think it's stupid even as somebody that never tried to fill the NatDex and has dropped Pokemon after X bored the hell out of me. People aren't just mad that they can't have everyone in one game or that their bro isn't in every game going forward, it's that Masuda gave possibly the worst excuses he could have:
>It's hard to get them all in there (when they said before Gen 6 that they made all the models "futureproof")
>It's hard to animate them all (when Gen 8 just uses Gen 6/7-tier animation which is a static idle pose and generic attack/hurt animations)
>It's not feasible (when they're making the games for the world's MOST POPULAR FICTIONAL IP and could double their staff without putting a dent in their profits from the game)
I wasn't going to get Sword & Shield anyway, but the way they've handled the PR has probably cut out a portion of the game's sales even from hardcores (probably
Sounds like you don’t even like video games
A breath of fresh air after the fuckin' state of online play in sm sounds pretty nice to be relatively honest
no you haven't.
any pokemon player knows you can't just port over an old team to a new game and destroy the whole story that's never how pokemon has worked.
get gone you casual
This. I'm actually pretty excited to see how the meta turns out.
I would of preferred all Pokemon but have a tournament "standard", but I'll accept this as well.
I never personally cared much, but I understand why people would be mad. Is there even any other series that lets you transfer data through 7 gens of games? This was one of the things that made pokémon unique.
I don't care about a bunch of worthless shitmons being culled when good Pokemon like Charizard and Gardevoir are already in the game and virtually guaranteed to be in every one.
Who has ever given a fuck about the story? It's only there to entertain small children, it surely holds nothing of value for adults. You destroy the story without even trying to.
But buying a new game just to start playing with the same old comp is just an unbelievably dull thing to do.
losing a ton of mechanics and pokemon (the things the whole game is based on) is not a breath of fresh air.
especially when nothing is gained besides dynamax which is interesting but not enough to make up for so many losses
I'd agree, if there was any sort of tradeback to not having them all.
The games look like upscaled 3DS games though, so including them all is the least they could've done.
because you have more than a few brain ce-
you're completely right
you're even stupider if you're talking about postgame, using old strats is definitely a selling point, seeing how they interact with the new mons and gimmicks is part of the fun of continuing a pokemon adventure.
there's so many options we should be able to explore them all, not cut most of them out for no reason
>one of the most profitable media franchises of all time
>games still look like absolute shit
>mechanics haven’t innovated in years
>no game that absolutely blows the minds of gamers, nor even matches the critical acclaim that shit like Mario and Zelda have gotten in recent years
Game Freak is indefensible. They should have unironically given us real-life genetically manufactured Pikachus by this point with all the money they’ve made. It’s just laziness.
You are aware of the badge and stamp (gen 7) system right? It’s there specifically to prevent players from destroying the in game main story with a traded team.
This dates back to gen 1. You would know this if you played Pokémon.
The story is irrelevant to the whole experience. That means the badges are too.
GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL
"hurr durr I play pokemon"
you clearly don't know anything about the series, why are you here?
AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THIS IS HEALTHY FOR VGC
FUCK MEGAS
FUCK TORNANUS
FUCK METAMONS
there's nothing wrong with them banning megas for tournaments to show off new gimmicks or to be a more "pure" meta
but flat out removing features that people like is always wrong
Cope harder tracey. You'll never be as good as brock.
I just don't want to leave all of my old mons trapped in the cloud jail
How about everything past gen 4 is just non canon?
There, I just fixed pokemon
Ampharos
megas were the last good thing about modern pokemon
everything since sun/moon has been garbage and sword/shield is no exception.
*allows moody smeargle*
I wouldn't mind the cut mons if they actually polished up the game and pushed it to its limits, but they didn't.
>Getting rid of Gen V and its bugs
I'll delete you.
I would agree with you if there was a conscious effort to make the game actually good, and not "stripped down GBA game with shitty 3D graphics slightly upscaled from 3DS." Literally nothing about the game is Switch-quality, and dropping the tagline that the entire franchise has been based on since its inception is just the cherry on top.
