is this backdash thing different with characters that have sway inputs? i think i can do a messy one with jin, but i cant do it with bryan.

You can't do the QCB method of KBD with backsway characters.

Just don't hit down so you're not inputting a quarter circle on your way up to back, you only need to input d/b to cancel the dash animation.
