people make it sound like sidestepping is easy and something you can just turn on while in reality it requires a retarded base of knowledge to know what you're suppose to be sidestepping and how.
The only thing I can recommend is making sure you're canceling all your steps with a back input so even if you're not making any moves whiff at least you aren't getting constantly clipped for trying to learn which moves are weak to what.

I'm relatively new aswell, but the best mix-up is Hatchet Kick into Soccer Kick or Snake Edge. Sure, people block Snake Edge, but they constantly forget that it avoids all mids and highs. Use Orbital Heel too, pretty damn good and it allows you to combo into db2, 1, b24, b3f421/b3f21 (for wall strats)
When you're at the wall and you've got them splatted, if they're high up, do b3f34. If their head is waist height, give them a f21, then Snake Edge.

df3->df4, uf3, 2, b3f412 is a really good combo and relatively easy to do. if you can get the hang of Jet Upper and f1+2, you can do very well
but if you learn the art of the taunt... you basically can't be stopped as every attack you do will basically become unblockable and your opponent will have to predict your taunts, which is where mind games come in.
taunt does audio cues similar to jet upper, snake edge, and others, so do your best to cancel the frame it activates and your opponent will try to attack low or something, which allows you to low parry pretty easily
basically, just be bryan and his intimidation. it works.

The same top players every time with an identical grand final in 99% of tournaments, extremely low player retention rate to the point that every competitor is in their 30s or older and been playing since 3/5, a solved game where no new tech is ever discovered and no exciting plays get made. Legacy factor counts more than anything else. No top Tekken player has ever been competent at another fighting game, likewise people who dabble in other fighting games don't bother with Tekken. The series is visibly more shallow and poorly designed than the rest of its subgenre. All things it has in common with Smash.

Training mode in tekken 6 is pretty useful. Try learning 10 hit combos. What you don’t piece together usually helps you understand what moves connect and how to cancel combos. When you feel confident in your knowledge of your character, set the AI to the highest difficulty and do some arcade mode.
