Is this game good?

It's alright but it also has one of those autistically dedicated fanbases that think it's much better than it actually is. You can easily find better twinsticks for cheaper.
It was alright. I had to keep pausing every 10 minutes to jerk off to her.
It’s ok, but it’s fun cyberpunk aesthetics and soundtrack mainly. Worth 5 bucks for me.
It's fun
As far as gameplay goes it's above average, but what really sells me is the aesthetic and music. shame it's so short though
but you play as a dude
play the game
men can be women too sweetie
idk but heres a key for it

thanks user
None of the Hotline Miami clones are good.
It's okay if it's on sale. It has solid, uncreative mechanics that function fine enough, and the art and music is serviceable but it honestly just feels like a knockoff of things that have done it better.
Repetitive.
This. I found Katana Zero to be incredibly monotonous and dumb.
yes
the game takes less than a day to 100%, pretty bland. as much as i want to recommend it, you could find better for 8$
KILL THE BOSS
ur dumb
It's great, just don't cry if you get pleb-filtered.
It's pretty short, by the way, only three levels.
What a stupid statement. You go through several levels in those three levels. You zoomers need to stop talking about games.
As a twinstick with a story, its good. Its very, very obviously indie in the sense that menus can be janky, the game never explicitly tells you you can repeat areas to grind, and when you do repeat areas you have no idea whether the options you made in town did anything at all or not.
What makes this game entertaining is the absolute amount of options it gives you to deal with situations while still keeping itself a little balanced. You have skills and skill points, but you can change them. Any time. All the time. If the boss you're fighting gives two shits about your dashes when its firing giant ass lasers at you, pause the game, put those dash pts into shield pts, get back in the fight. Found an energy reload station but need health and there's no enemies around? Switch all skills to regen, use up as much energy as you can spare, use the station, go back to your business. No idea what the difference is between Kinetic Barrier and Energy Shield? Move some pts around, find out, then keep testing to see what fits the situation.
All options aside, its still a twin stick at heart, so the fights can go south in a heartbeat if you're not careful no matter what setup you use. Guns feel underpowered until you start messing around with skills, and even then beating the shit out of thugs with a pipe or sword is plenty efficient.
Its a 6+ hr game that's on sale for $8, I'd say its worth it if you're on the fence and want a twin stick. Just remember that its indie, the core experience is good but it definitely shows its seams.
The only interesting mechanic was the dialogue system. The mission where you play the blonde dude was the best one, and the game should've set out to build up to that level of power, but you end the game practically the same way you begin, slashing the same dudes. The story ends abruptly, and probably could've progressed further with it's time. The little girl sequences were silly and cliche, and the game has sequences of technically unnecessary shit that could've been revised and better honed into directing the narrative into something more satisfying. The game flumps in both gameplay and as a dementia thriller story.
Objectively false.
it was also over before anything even really happened, I regret buying it
I just remember the combat being endless dodge spam. The cool art and setting seemed wasted on this kind of game. The story is a bunch of nothing until the end of the game when suddenly they just dump a bunch of plot exposition and twists into a single conversation which totally nullifies any impact they could have had. Whoever did the writing was really inept.
>guns and overhead perspective = HLM clone
I don't like ruiner very much but that was a dumb post.
I really had a good time with it. It can be exhausting and it gets your blood pumping in a way that's really satisfying.
It's gameplay is pretty lacking and most of the boss fights are annoying but I found the music, atmosphere, and aesthetic to be incredibly on-point.
Y...You can grind?
I didn't like it very much really only because of the controls. It feels like shit imo, but that's only because I'm way too used to how free and loose hotline miami is with its top down control and movement. I wouldn't say Ruiner is a bad game though by any means its just not the game for me.
Is this game better if you play it with a controller as a true twinstick? I always use KB+M because twinstick with limited ammo is usually total shit.
On title screen go to 'Select Level' and repeat a chapter. Since the game tells you nothing but some cryptic 'all progress before the last checkpoint will be lost,' I'm not sure if it erases the story progress, but it keeps your karma level. Grinded the hell out of the first string of missions that ended with the sword boss just to get some understanding of how the game works.

It's fun, I think people unfairly compare it with HM because they have the same publisher but they aren't really going for the same thing except in that they're both twin-stick shooters. I liked the variety of weapons and that all of them felt really satisfying. I got a friend of mine to draw a picture of D.va and Her doing twin V-signs.
It's a pretty fun game, but I don't like how you just drop a gun when you run out of ammo instead of having a reloading system.
She calls you puppy.
Its fun.
Well said
No. I got it at launch, played a bit over an hour and refunded it. Soundtrack was good, nothing else was.
Was this really made by ex cyberpunk 2077 devs?
Heck yeah it's good. Awesome atmosphere and soundtrack. Gameplay is hit or miss depending on how much you enjoy isometric shooters. You can abuse slomo and dodge perks too.
Yep, this
you get free respecs too!
i bet she fucks dogs
I doubt she fucks anything, considering she's an AI.
your lack of imagination is astounding
I absolutely fucking love Ruiner and I'm genuinely excited to see what Reikon is working on next. Ruiner was their very first game and it absolutely oozes quality.
It's excellent. Easily worth paying full price.
wait you can repeat areas? its not like grinding its neccesary at any point since you can switch skills at will
Who is this Dva clone
Who said you could mouth off, Puppy?
