2 is the best out of both.
If you really want to, just play The Pre-Sequel once for the story, then forget about it.
It gets a bit too grindy for my taste, but thankfully PC has stuff like Gibbed's Save Editor so you can just get the gear you want and get going.

Not really. The second game gives you just about enough of a summary on the events of the first, but if you need one, basically: 4 guys show up to a planet with the promise of finding loot in something called the Vault, but are tricked to face a discount Gene Worm that comes out of it.

BL2 doesn't really have SJW shit, at least not overt. I replayed it not too long ago. TPS on the other hand has fucking Jamie or whatever screaming about lesbians every 2 second. Shame cause it has the best vault hunters by far, Athena is so fun to use
