Both play like dogshit. We've played good metroidvania and we aren't going back: it's called Bloodborne.

That's a Soulsborne though

You only have the one weapon, but it can be upgraded. There are three spells, each of which can be upgraded once, as well as a few movement options that you unlock along the way. There are a bunch of charms and charm combinations that can change the way you play in a significant way. Don't listen to that guy, it sounds like he gave up at the casual filter.

Souls are literally just 3D Metroidvanias.
