I love the greek setting, and the game has many things that could have been well executed if the scope was narrowed. The map size is 4x too big for its own good and elements like bounty hunters, territory arena fights, leader assassinations, romantic relationships, etc all come out half baked and seemingly only included so UBI could check it off the list of things that are popular in open world games.

Assassins Creed should quit attempting limp dicked tributes to Teh Witcher 3 and try and emulate MGSV's fun gameplay

I would bump Brotherhood up but besides that 10/10 list.

AC Odyssey I must admit was the FIRST game ever based in ancient times that made me sit back and say damn, i'd live in this shit. But then I realize it was ancient times and there was no technology. Game was so beautiful though all the individual islands. The color, everything was like so massive is scale, large statues, mountains, cities built on top of cliffs and mountains. Which had BEAUTIFUL architecture. Next AC game's gonna suck if the location can't compete with Greece. I heard rumors of Vikings next, KEK their architecture was trash back then. I hope that's not where they go next.

Absolutely. The thing is, there usually is a cap on how much you can play a single player game before it gets stale, depending on the genre, gameplay mechanics and amount of unique content. On one side you have things like strategy games where you have hundreds of hours of replayability by trying out different scenarios and nations, on the one side you have plot-heavy linear games that take only under 10 hours.

The problem with AC is that its gameplay mechanics aren’t that special, yet the games are jam-packed with content that is ultimately very repetitive. Generally, the plot is interesting enough to keep one moving on, but there’s no satisfaction in doing dozens of repetitive side missions that play the same every time and don’t present a meaningful challenge. If Assassin’s Creed wanted to stay fun for 100% completion, it would absolutely require a deeper combat system that takes longer to master and more unique content.
