Platinum Games

>Nier Automata, while a smash hit and Yoko Taro's first commercial success, was mediocre from a gameplay perspective.
>Scalebound got cancelled
>Cygames fired them from the Grandblue Fantasy re:Link project, going as far as deleting any mention of them in the project
>Babylon's Fall is nowhere to be seen after being announced during last year's E3. Meanwhile other games announced around that time that were lost in limbo too (Nioh 2 and Code Vein) recently got public betas
>Astral Chain has not only done a lot of progress in the few months since its announcement, but it has gotten an unanimously positive reaction and it's shaping to be one of their best games ever.

And you guys still doubt that PG are pretty ferocious Nintendo fanboys who see other platforms as just stepping stones and sources of cash (getting bitten in the ass for that).

if they love nintendo so much, where's bayo 3 at then?

If Babylon's Fall is Saito's project then it's very likely it will be one of their best games. Also the Re:Link situation is weird because word from both companies implied they were just done working on the game but the removal of the name is confusing and implies the opposite.

>bayonetta
>metal gear rising
>vanquish

Wasn't Scalebound going to get revived or something?

Soon. Astral Chain is being used as a test ground for some of the ideas they want to implement on Bayo 3.

They made those games to get Nintendo's attention, finally earning it with Bayonetta.

There was a rumor from some credible source saying that Nintendo was reviving a game that was cancelled. Some less-reputable guy came out and said it was Scalebound.

Nah, it won't. Because PG only gives a shit when a game is Nintendo exclusive.
It's clear that Cygames got sick and tired of PG's unprofessional behavior so they fired them; Japanese companies (and Japanese society as a whole) believe in harmony and appearances so both companies decided to just keep the thing between wraps (Cygames not publicly revealing the true reason why PG was removed and PG not saying anything besides "the work got done. No more questions".

>Astral Chain is being used as a test ground for some of the ideas they want to implement on Bayo 3.
Like n9 was used as a "test ground" for bayo 2 right? Goddamn it people like you are retarded.

Platinum likes Nintendo because they're the only major Publisher that doesn't treat them like shit outside of their original deal with SEGA. Bayo 2 was shopped around to 3 or 4 companies before Nintendo picked it up. The company was created because they hated being under a corporation like Capcom and have fought to remain independent their entire time existing (including being ready to fucking die by refusing to sell to Microsoft until Automata sold well).

One of their biggest initiatives is to self-publish IPs that they own, rather than go through red tape to develop sequels (reminder than SEGA still owns the Bayo IP on top of Nintendo owning Bayo 2 & 3 specifically). This "Platinum's goal from the start was to get with Nintendo" stuff falls apart once they start showing off new games that they will publish on every platform. I'll eat my words if their new IPs end up Switch exclusive, but I doubt that.
