What's so bad about real time with pause?

i'm fine with it for the most part, i love the old isometric games
for me the major issue is, that aint D&D.
D&D has always been turn based

the games can play quite differently when your using either system, PoE2 is a good example for this because it now has a fully functional Turn Based mode in addition to it's normal RTwp mode and the game and it's classes play very differently.
Ciphers for example are garbage in turn based, Monks are gods.

BG2 is the pinnacle of video games and the best RPG of all times (also Planescape Torment). Too bad video games died around 2000 and now we only get dumbed-down zoomer shit.

Exp limit for bg1 is 70k, exp limit for bg1 with expansion is 145-155k IIRC

The action feels like shit when you're pausing every few seconds to issue new commands. It might as well just be turn based instead making you constantly manually stop everything.

The exp cap is easy to reach because some late game areas like the basilisk area, the siren coast and the ankhegs give crazy high exp.

it's fun at the start and then after a while it feels like the game is playing itself and me pausing to cast something is just to give me the illusion of control
Say what you want about full turn based games but atleast with those i don't feel like i'm watching a simulation

but user, i only care about Planescape

Obviously you've never played an rtwp game if you compare it to turn based

If you go around exploring everything you get plenty, way more than the cap allows. Around 30k is perfectly fine at the point in the game.

>late game areas
>basilisk area
You're doing it wrong.
