The plot which politics-heavy and actually managed to put literally everyone important to the plot into grey area, excluding protagonist who is trying his damnedest to stay pure in the light side. He's getting ridiculed 24/7 for this.

Also deep enough for its time, the customization. Getting OP combination of job/skill is really rewarding.

And of course, nostalgia goggle, as is with every Square's creation in PSOne era.

My only hope is they have another big named JRPG ready to put up there alongside 7R, it would instill a little confidence that they can make more than one game at a time again and would help with the wait between 7R episodes.

They permanently fucked up their Deus Ex brand with the "augmewnt your preorder" shit and trying to sell 1 game in 3 parts.

The audio drama is legitimately good.

The novella is the only bad thing and is universally hated. The bomb exploding is a meme. It wouldnt necessarily be bad on its own, but the entirety of that story is a nonsensical clusterfuck. But leave it to the internet and low iq retards to focus on one meme instead of the real issues, and lob the good audiodrama in the fire with it under the label of "hurr its after x-2 so bad".

They actually did change quite a bit due to feedback, but those "experts" weren't going to accept anything that wasn't KH2 despite the fact that the 9 other KH games aren't anything like KH2 either. There's a fundamental disconnect between what they want the series to be vs people who've been speed-running the same game for nearly 15 years.

FF10, 10-2, 13-2, Type-0 and 15 are all excellent games. Dissidia, World of FF, 14, 13-1, and 12 are not as superb but still great games that can be enjoyed thoroughly.
