It sure as fuck was until the 343 games happened. All of its myriad flaws seem trivial in comparison to the shit we have to deal with now.

No. I liked it a lot. Anyone who says it set the stage for 343 fucking it up are brain dead. What 343 has done with Halo is entirely something else.

It was annoying at first, but I grew accustomed to the gameplay fairly easily. Customs were more creative than 3, even if everything was grey.

not bait. odst had better maps for online, and maybe better online overall, but they're close. and reach has one of the best storyline too
