The problem is that the non-linearity of the game was poorly implemented. It dummied down the dungeons that you would play later in the game due to keeping the dungeons simple that you didn't need items from other dungeons.

Translation to Kana is a little annoying to search on Pixiv, and she kinda overlaps with maple.

If you like castlevania style games the game gear game Vampire master of darkness is pretty good
