Blood is better than Doom

build engine games are really not that good

Blood has fallen into absolute obscurity but DOOM is eternal.

I'd say they're very neck and neck, love them both. Blood is indisputably the best Build engine game though.

Blood is the Father in the holy trinity of build engine games and my absolute favorite shooter. It's better than Doom, sure, by every objective metric it has better level design, better atmosphere, and more refined mechanics, but it's only better because it stands on the shoulders of Doom and even then it's not better by much.

I'm also going to note, that Doom is leagues better if you count user generated content. The build engine has some good fanmade stuff, but nothing compared to the plethora of Doom wads.

I like more than Doom 2 specifically but Doom 1 is still the king of the genre for most overall great experience.
