I want Lilith to sit on my face
Play her game user.
Only if it leads to me being able to bury my face into succubutts
Incredible game. It's too bad that Capcom is total shit now so even if there is a new Darkstalkers game, it won't be any good.
post succ
Fuck off cuckcheez
Poop
Succubi don't poop

Boco in 3...2...1...
I won't play a new Darkstalkers if they don't subtly accentuate Demitri's commando bulge which shows some detail of his penis
Have you seen any of his new models? In his 2d sprite you were obviously meant to be able to make out the shape of his penis glans, but in newer works they try to cover it up and be like "oh, that's just his pants"
No, bitch. I saw his dick through his pants and you won't get my money if it doesn't return
Theres no way it's gonna get a re-release in 2019.
No loli cat helpers, no flat lilith, Morrigan isn't wearing a burka, Demitri's Midnight Bliss is objectifying women... I could go on.
If they just used all the original assets across the games and compiled them an the characters in addition to making like 10 new stages and characters+ updated old movesets and mechanics it would sell and cost them barely anything
2D fighting games are shit, I only play Tekken
God I wish that were me
Half based
I love Tekken, but Darkstalkers is my favourite 2D fighting game :'(
Tekken 7 is a predictable follow-up to a series that's never aimed particularly high, it may please casual gamers for a day or two but the stagnant ongoing series is definitely in the second tier of fighters way below Capcom or NetherRealm Studios games, and it's seriously getting old and tired. The lack of depth and subtlety and the emphasis on the offensive, rather than the defensive, puts this squarely two notches below the best in the genre, the "who-can-get-their-super-move-off-first" gameplay leaves much to be desired from a serious fighting game player. Like the prequels, Tekken 7 is geared towards casual gamers and anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, DoA and MK games have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!
If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
The original Darkstalkers literally is getting a re release this year, but whatever you say.
You forgot the pic with the copypasta
That's what Vampire Chronicle was.
Not him, but source? I want to belive
Literally the ROM we have all been playing on FB alpha. That's not a re-release.
That didn't have any new content. Plus it didn't really do what it claimed to do. It said you could play as any of the previous games' styles, but none of the style modes actually played anthignlike the game they were claiming to represent.
I want to get into vsav, but it's pretty dead unfortunately. I'll wait for a rerelease or sequel to boost the playerbase before investing hundreds of hours learning the game.
Please play her game
Not what i hoped, but it's something I guess
ZOMBIE GOASTS LEAVE THIS PLACE
what's the best way to play, and realistically how active is it?
Lilith is perfection
But the playerbase is getting real big. CB had over 100 entrants for vsav.
I think Fightcade is an option, but i dont know how active it is
Fightcade, matchmake through Discord.
Some guys from reddit run weekly netplay tourneys on fridays at 11pm EST.
If youre near Chicago or somewhere with an arcade or retro-game place, then you might be able to play at a local.
Im calling the police!
>Udon had plans to remaster darkstalkers like SF.
>Shit gets thrown away because collection sells like shit.
I"m not sure if I should be happy because Udon fuckery or sad because remaster isn't going happen anymore.
That's an EX move of hers in-game. It's literally videogames.
>Udon
>Remaster DS
Right in the puberty
I tried. I actually played it offline for a while when it was the latest meme retro game at locals.
The game is complete shit. Mash to pushblock (rng unless you do that weird swipe which takes too long and makes you stick out buttons you don't want constantly), insane retarded mixups in neutral situations, horrible matchups. The characters that dominate the meta are mixup machines with retarded safe pressure that can go high/low, low profile under all zoning, and. And you don't even fucking need to win neutral to do it. Zabel has an unblockable jumping light kick that he can do off an IAD air reset, doesn't even need to do the meter setup. Then you add the fast speed of the game and it makes these mixups even more fucking crazy. And you can't even get that pressure the fuck off you like in MvC because pushblocking is awkward as fuck.
I guess the game is good if you like pretty sprites. Or if you like playing giga-fucking drooling retard characters like INO in guilty gear, blue mary in kof, or boxer in super turbo.
Tell it do the judge, pedo.
Those Udon plans were from the time of SF2 HD Remix, Resurrection hadn't been released yet. It's more likely that the plans were just shot down because SF2 HD Remix was a nightmare to make. That's why they never tried to do the same thing with any other game, instead just doing standard rereleases.
The sample looked like shit anyway, why get rid of the lineart from the Capcom sprite style that focused on lineart the most?
Lab Zero is the only studio capable of bringing Vampire back.
Have you tried Night Warriors? Completely different game.
Based Kinoko. A Vampire game with her as an art director would make me so happy.
eventhubs.com
Udon sprites look quite shitty.
I really doubt that capcom still have original akiman sheets for sprites.
But Darkstalkers would be ten times more tricky to do than SF2 due animations.
That game is slower paced but if you like the gameplay of DS1 you might as well play Street Fighter, DS1 and 2 are just weird in-betweens SF and Vsav.
I get that people are unhappy with modern Capcom, but these "*Random Company Here* is the only one who can do Darkstalkers!" takes are getting old. No one ever says anything like that about Street Fighter, so why do they say it about Darkstalkers?
>Demitri canonically died in his fight against Jedah.
>Lilith was absorbed by Morrigan
>have the story set far enough in the future wherein Felicia’s helpers grew up
>Morrigan was in Capcom vs disney shareholders without uproar.
You have a list of non-issues; the bigger issue is Capcom hasn’t put out a good fighting game since SF4
>Mash to pushblock (rng
Nope, you literally cannot mash pushblock you have to piano 6 different inputs and if you actually do it correctly its 100% guaranteed with zero RNG.
>insane retarded mixups in neutral situations, horrible matchups.
Nope, Im afraid this is just GET GUD
>And you don't even fucking need to win neutral to do it
False, neutral is a key part of vsav, you obviously just have no neutral game.
>Zabel has an unblockable jumping light kick that he can do off an IAD
Nope only the very last frame of his kick wont activate proxy guard, the only way he can set up an unblockable is if he does a 1 frame meaty and you aren't already blocking
>doesn't even need to do the meter setup
False, he requires ES guard cancel
>Then you add the fast speed of the game and it makes these mixups even more fucking crazy
Just another case of git gud im afraid
>And you can't even get that pressure the fuck off you
Yes you can push block or guard cancel as well as various characters also being able to DF or DP
Im sorry to say but you are just too low IQ to play Vsav, you should try something easier and slower, something more casual like tekken that might be your cup of tea, keyword. might.
Wasn't SF4 outsourced instead of done entirely by capcom itself?
it was co developed by capcom and dimps
I agree that the other guy is just a casual overstepping boundaries, but you can't deny the pressure in Vsav is pretty ridiculous.
>you might as well play Street Fighter
Tell me which Street Fighter game plays like this:
youtube.com
Sure but 9 times out of 10 you have to win neutral first before you can start your pressure
Really wish we got Phobos instead of a Morrigan headswap in Vsav
zabel CAN do the unblockable off an air reset
and tekken is crap, fuck off
>Sure but 9 times out of 10 you have to win neutral first before you can start your pressure
sasquatch shorthops and qbee/zabel IADs
>Short hop ignores neutral
>IAD ignores neutral
LMAO as I thought just a shitter with no neutral game.
But she's a good ghoul
He was probably the one of the three cut characters that came closest to being in. He actually has unused lifebar name and portrait data in Vsav.
That's a really sick match, but that's just some high-speed zoning from Phobos. You can do the same thing with Dhalsim in Alpha 3 im pretty sure.
He was very close to being in the game, apparently they just ran out of space for him.
Lilith's sexiness is too OP.
>Lillth.
>Headswap.
Her spriteset is completely different from Morrigan
I used to not like her, but after seeing how cool she is in the game, and in a different way than Morrigan, she grew on me.
Not completely different, there are still some shared animations. But definitely a lot more different than Ken and Ryu were from each other at the time (Alpha 2).
Darkstalkers is capcom animators dicking around.
It's quite impressive that lilith is the sole "headswap" for long time.
Who would it sell to
Capcom fighting game players.
Why do fags draw her with gauntlets when they're supposed to be gloves then?
That's not the final design. It's the one that was chosen from all the assorted candidates, but it was further tweaked after that. Demitri is an even more extreme case, as this is the design for him that was chosen from all his candidates. Obviously it bears only a passing resemblance to the final design.
me
Huitzil also looks pretty different in his chosen candidate design. The basic elements are mostly there, but the overall shape is much more organic and sculpture-like.
>darkstalkers 4 never ever
How come Capcom can't get off their ass with this series? Or Red Earth? Or Cyberbots?
Blame Ono.
Why? it will be 3d and with a lot of dlc.
I really like the aesthetic but basically no one it plays it on fightcade and having no training room option makes older games harder to learn for me.
I haven't kept up with shit he's said and done, does he just not have faith in anything unless it's Street Fighter? I'm guessing he played a major role in Darkstalkers Are Not Dead backfiring, even though it topped charts on 360 and PS3 marketplace. My memory is shit.
The two characters I like the most, Huitzil and Donovan, are in Vampire Hunter which has balance issues and no one plays
can't find someone in VSav that clicks with me
He barely got Street Fighter off of the ground to begin with for what it's worth, Capcom had deemed it a dead franchise at the time
Excuses, theres training room mods for FB Alpha and you can emulate the PS2 version which has official training modes for all games.
Yep, I remember that shit. All people got during the early 2000s in terms of new releases were rereleases and crossover titles. Capcom almost entirely shut down their fighting game department after Third Strike bombed in arcades, so everyone kept petitioning and bothering them until they listened. I do wonder sometimes if they regret shutting that department down, especially with Third Strike being out of the cult classic phase and basically being a household name for fighting games now. It definitely was a retarded move.
Red Earth game would be so cool.
A Capcom Fighting Jam 2 but with a full roster and not lazily done would be so based
There's still no one to play with, fightcade Vsav is made up of like ten HUEHUEHUEs and nothing else.
>Red Earth game would be so cool
I can't imagine incorporating rpg mechanics into a fighting game ever working without it being obtuse and/or broken.
Have you never played a non-mainstream fg?
You gotta set up your games with people, there's a Vsav discord with plenty of americans playing.
>Capcom almost entirely shut down their fighting game department after Third Strike bombed in arcades
This is completely false
For Red Earth and Cyberbots, it's because they never sold well in the first place.
Demitri will be brought back to life if a new game is planned.
>almost entirely
Even if it didn't completely shit the bed, they still stopped making nearly as many fighting games, and with even less effort than before.
Most fighting games they put out were ports or joint projects. They turned more towards an action focus during the early 2000s, up until 2008. Onimusha is an exception to the port and crossover game rule, and it's a good exception.
So is there ANY chance of a new Darkstalkers game? I really want a new one to get made. It deserves it.
Not likely, but of all of capcom's fighting series it has better odds then series like cyberbots, red earth, rival schools, or star gladiator.
No, it's pretty true. From 1997 onwards, arcades in general started going downhill, and Capcom's titles in particular were selling less and less. Especially Street Fighter 3, which they had poured a ton of time and money into. So they made the last few titles they could while recycling previous assets to cut costs and banking on crossovers too boost sales, but eventually they hit an end point with CvS2. Funamizu himself said at the time "This is gonna be our last 2D fighter." They tried to make the jump to 3D with CvS3 and Capcom Fighting All-Stars, but both of those got cancelled, so they figured Capcom fighting games were just done for good and sold off the Street Fighter license to Capcom USA.
However, i have come to realization that's its not about darkstalkers returning but it's about how much currently Sony will try to censor stuff and hurt the game.
The more you buy the ports and try to spread the word to other people to do so, the bigger the chance will be.
>3S - May 12, 1999
>Tech Romancer - March 31, 2000
>Marvel vs Capcom 2 March 30, 2000
>Capcom vs SNK - August 13, 2000
>Project Justice - December 17, 2000
>Capcom vs SNK 2 - August 3, 2001
>Capcom Fighting Jam - October 2004
>Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX - January 19, 2006
>Street Fighter 4 - July 18, 2008
And that's just a handful, they are more, stop parroting utter bull shit.
This is very true, Darkstalkers is the only one of the non-Street Fighter/Marvel Capcom fighting game series that really achieved success. Although that success was almost entirely in Japan, and now that over 20 years later the market is far, far more focused on the US than Japan it would be a hard sell. Because for all the people over here who claim to love Darkstalkers characters in crossovers, they never bother to play the actual games for some reason.
>Capcom Fighting Jam - October 2004
A cheap asset re-usage after the game they actually wanted to make was scrapped before it even got off the ground
>Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX - January 19, 2006
A PSP port of a game that came out almost 10 years prior.
For seven years until SF4 happened that's all they put out?
Tech Romancer was 1998. Not a success, either.
MvC2 is, like I said, a crossover with recycled assets.
CvS was also a crossover with recycled assets.
I'll give you Project Justice, but again, that wasn't much of a success.
You're going to count Fighting Jam? Really?
Alpha 3 Max was a port, no different from any of the other various ports they put out during the 2000s.
And SF4 was outsourced. That was the beginning of the second generation of Capcom fighters, almost a decade after the end of the previous generation, and with hardly any of the previous generation's developers involved.
Largely, waifufags that just wanna fap to the girls. That's why most of the Darkstalkers characters that get into the crossovers are the female characters, outside of Anakaris, Demitri, and recently Jedah. If you wanna get cynical, Demitri likely got into crossovers due to Midnight Bliss.
Besides that, Pyron was in that shitty Capcom Fighting Evolution game as a final boss once.
It's sort of telling that even with the shit they did to Jedah (censorship, unnecessary redesign) he's still one of the things people liked the most about MvCI. The game was just that bad.
It's amazing how they had little things like Jedah being voiced by the old VA for Pyron in the English dubs of the Vampire Hunter OVAs, but they still fucked up the blood, his design, and his theme song. If they got everything else right, Jedah would be the most overused character in the game. If they got everything else right in general, MvC:I wouldn't be the red-haired mongoloid child that it is for Capcom now.
What's wrong with wanting to fap to cute girls?
Nothing at all, it's just an issue when you only care about a franchise because it makes your dick wet. Lilith and her sister are both bombshells, but if Capcom only sees the nut, that's all they'll cater to.
This thread reminds me that I need to install Fightcade on my new laptop and reinstall V-sav. I got training mode ready to go on my last one then proceeded to just drop it. This game isn't combo-heavy, right?
Because when you do so while actively stating how little you care about the actual source material, (if I had a penny for every time I've seen someone say "I've never played Darkstalkers BUT....", I'd be able to retire) all it does is degrade the source material's reputation, which is frustrating to the people who genuinely like it.
This shit is why I hate these sorts of faggots so much. They only serve to make themselves look like a bunch of immature geeks too.
Not too combo heavy. It's mostly just 5 or so hit chains when you get the opportunity. More complex combos require links.
That's what I thought. I need to learn some BnBs with my boy Demitri and maybe try picking up Morrigan or B.B.
Demitri just does ABC chains and has good damage off of them. BB Hood does fucking frame-tight links off jabs and dashes.
Morrigan combos short chains into her Raging Demon, which you kinda have to grind a bit to get down, but that's all.
Eh, I'll probably just stick to Demitri then.
What's Jedah like?
He's not very good, he's a hit an run character that actually uses his Dark Force install super, it costs 1 bar.
youtu.be
This is kinda what he plays like.
Not on current consoles and only on PC via emulation.
I hate it when a character that had a certain appeal to them gets changed to appeal to the masses.
Pick very related, what Morrigan originally was.
She has a sort of mean look in her eye.
Only matters if you're a retard zoomer.
Well he is naked and just manipulating how light would appear to your eyes with his aura to look like a human instead of a bat monster,
How's Anakaris?
Capcom already outsources Street Fighter to DIMPS, TVC and MVC3 were Eighting, and it was noted MVCI was the first in-house developed fighting game in forever. So not much of a take really.
By far the worst character in the game. Lacks universal tools that other characters have like throws, pushblock and guard cancels. Moves tend to be really weird and require lots of finesse to use. It takes real specialist to play him well. MightyMar is the best Anakaris player in the west, and gives some good advice on him here: youtube.com
This is true but only at top level play, Anakaris is a total scrub killer.
TECH HIT
Drawing bags is more work.
Wahaha
MONSTER
GET MY RAGE

You're welcome
I just noticed this for the first time earlier, it's great.
I want a new game and not old sprite game
I still dont know why that random moan was there
This game reminds me of Dofus. Very cartoony but obviously aimed at adults.
Who are you hoping to see Storm Collectibles make action figures of?
Just looked that up, looks like Wakfu or something. Same people?
Not even. Wakfu is half Yea Forums, half Yea Forums/, and it's from France. I could see Felicia in the games as a cameo or something, though.
Yeah, they did Dofus and then Wakfu. Now they are working on Waven. Company is called Ankama.
Here's Morrigan and Lilith drawn by the main illustrator of all those games, Xavier Houssin.
Talbain.
That would be neat. Hopefully they could fit a lot of flexibility into his waist, because he really needs it to pull off some of his poses.
Lei Lei with weapons.
Yeah, like you could unplug the claws from the sleeve and then plug in the sawblade or chained spikeball in, that would be really cool. Alos alternate arms phasing through the sleeves that could hold a dagger and such. Lots of potential for her.
Cute but that lilith scares me
Also Rikuo, but...yeah.
Yeah the arms phasing through the sleeves is the main thing I was thinking of.
Given that Capcom has CPS2 and 3 emulated correctly for SF Anniversary what they *should* do is make a Darkstalkers 3 Ultimate which is just a rom hack of vsav3 but with the missing characters and stages they couldn't add because of space limitations back in the day. Then just sell it on steam/console for like $10. Virtually zero effort on Capcoms part (just use the infrastructure made for SF Anniversary) and new content (adding new chars as-is would be huge). Maybe make pushblock a bit less retarded.
The reason Hyper Street Fighter II worked is that there was a lot less memory used for SFII versions.
The thing is, they've tried to make "complete" or "upgraded" Darkstalkers versions before, and no one ever really cared.
PS1 and Saturn VSAV both added in the 3 missing characters.
Chronicle on the Dreamcast and PSP let you use the whole cast, plus pick any game version to play as.
PS2 Collection had full-cast versions of VSAV, VSAV2, and VHUNT2. They even mad eteh full-cast version of VHUNT2 into a different game with different mechanics, since it would have been redundant otherwise.
All of those attempts, and no one ever really bought them or played them that much. The hardcore players continued to play the original arcade VSAV, and no one who wasn't already into the series was drawn in.
Well, the Saturn version was Japan only. And the PS1 version wasn't the greatest, and came out in a very crowded season.
They already did this in Vampire Collection, there's EX Versions of Vsav and Vhun 2 with all the characters unlocked.
They tested selling Resurrection for 15$ on consoles back in the day and they gave up on it.
Making pushblock less ridiculous would not be "zero effort" too.
Remake never ever and that's a good thing.
