ssx3 is a 10/10 and one the the best 10 games of all time for me

feels bad

Badly need another game

Despite rebooting it EA killed it all over again

Well, at least people made their own Wipeout for PC, and PS4 got the Omega repack, even if it is just recycled stuff from games with recycled stuff from 2005. SSX is just buried

Sequel never

When that game came out in 2012, it had only been five years since the previous game and it was already considered dead at that point. Now it's been even longer, rip

Sly Cooper

True. Redout is sick good

I really liked the reboot, too.

it was good

1080 was my favorite snowboarding game. Dark Summit was really cool and different too. Tried Steep and couldn't get into it. Might just be disinterested in the genre at this point though.

The EA servers are dead too. It's like they don't even want us to play it.

Fucking love this game tho

I actually meant Ballistic NG, which is essentially like the PS1 Wipeouts. But yeah there are other pod racers too. These kinds of exteme sports games seem to just have died out

Well to be honest Steep is just bad. It's the typical Ubisoft thing where they create a big world and try to do five different things but none of it is fun. The Crew is the same, people didn't like the driving but instead if improving it, they just added boats and planes and stuff that nobody asked for

this october it will have been 10 years since the last release of a midnight club game

no literally talks about SSX: On Tour, I literally played this game for 3 hours straight yesterday. This game is so amazing, the sound track, monster tricks, and combo system make me really appreciate this game as the last SSX game before the remake.

It was kind of just a reskin of SSX3 though Tricky was also just a reskin of the first game and a lot of people found the slomo on monster tricks annoying

I love this game. I used to play it so much. Really liked being able to make my own character too. Not sure how common that was in SSX but the 2 others Ive played didnt have it.

Found the artist's blog post about working on the art direct from 2008...

sex

steep is pretty fun imo if you ignore all the actual events and just free roam around trying to find cool and gnarly lines. the amount of terrain on the Alps alone is amazing. i’ve played it since it came out and still find new areas that were clearly designed by someone to flow well.

Good lad, I fucking loved Sled Storm for PS2

I just often found the handling pretty annoying. I think I got gold in almost every event but never really got a handle of it, felt more like I was just along for the ride rather than being fully in control. But maybe it's supposed to feel like that, it almost feels like they just made some kind of snowboard sandbox and then threw some events around it afterwards

Superior snowboarding game coming through.

SSX always had such a great soundtracks.

yeah that’s what i mean, all the races and trick events really bring out the worst in the handling/physics system, but for pure free roam it’s pretty comfy. i like floating up a mountain on the paraglider and spotting runs on my way up. it’s a great mindless relaxation game but it doesn’t hold a candle to SSX in terms of pure fun and actual game-ness.

I feel so sad it is not alive....

by that i mean the physics are ok when the game isn’t forcing you to go as fast as possible, out of control from hitting bumps and doing repetitive tricks.

my soul has been crushed four times in this thread already

Which of the 1080s or SSX has the most stylized aesthetic to it?

Need something good to replace snowboard kids

They're making a new one that's basically Burnout youtube.com/watch?v=GWUZPPw6vyU
