>Xbox One S can barely hold 40fps let alone 60fps while having the same graphics as Switch
>Xbox One X is the best looking version but once again, barely able to hold 60fps going as far down as 40fps
>Switch runs 30fps but its way more consistent than Xbox One X/S, graphics looks like the Xbox One S version
>PS4 runs almost similar to Xbox One S, but a little bit better overall
>PS4 pro is literally the only version (other than PC) that runs the best overall how come Mario Kart can run better at a consistent 60fps on a fucking tablet than Sonic could on fucking PS4 and Xbox?
sega (and sumo digital by extension) are incompetent, which is a shame as sonic racing transformed was superb as a game but the engine is shit and was littered with bugs.
Aiden Robinson
>1. PC >2. PS4 Pro >3. PS4 >4. Switch >5. Xbox One X >6. Xbox One
Zachary Gonzalez
but why couldn't Sega just copied Nintendo or try to make the Switch version run the best, so that it can be passed to the other versions to run even better?
Jaxson Barnes
Some of the jank shit in this game and Transformed, even when it screws me over, makes me laugh my ass off at times
Easton Myers
Coding is more complex than that and nintendo is not going to unveil all their secrets
David Baker
PC runs better but the online is plagued with issues. As far as actually playing the game goes it's the worst option.
Dylan Anderson
My guess is the Switch version was basically an afterthought. I'm assuming they build the games for the PC in mind, then port them across all the consoles
Aaron Rogers
>all their secrets That's not how coding works retard, there's no secret optimization techniques, they just don't care enough or are skilled as them.
Tyler Collins
This is bullshit. I have a first gen xbox one and it plays fine outside of a handful of drops
Jose Green
>How come Mario Kart can run better at a consistent 60fps on a fucking tablet than Sonic could on fucking PS4 and Xbox? Mario Kart is a flagship series that usually has 1 target platform to worry about and being developed by the same company that manufacturers said platform. On top of that, the parent company cares about maintaining their high standards of quality for the base mode so they make sure that the game fucking works (with some exceptions, such as Trash of the Wild)
TSR is developed by an outsourced studio who is known for delivering nothing but low budget subpar trash. They usually target multiplatform releases, with one platform being the lead project while the remaining ones are rushed port jobs handled by seperate teams. Sumo are a studio for hire, and given their previous releases, they don't care much about quality control. They just want a product out the door to appease the publisher that hired them. >BUT TRANSFORMED WAS GOOD! SUMO IS BASED! The concept of Transformed is great, but the technical execution is not. That game had many of the same issues TSR did at launch. These guys literally never learn.
It's called having a technical director who knows what the fuck he's doing you insufferable child
Kevin Smith
seething lmao
Caleb Hill
>overclocked 9900K well no fucking shit low end GPUs can do 60fps with that
Ayden Stewart
Ah the semantics retard, you know damn well what I meant.
Levi Ramirez
You sound incredibly seething but you're right. I don't get why everyone suddenly forgot that Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed ran like complete dogshit on every platform besides PC which looks to be nearly the same case for TSR.
Nathaniel Anderson
Wrong >PC >PS4 Pro >Switch >Xbox One X >PS4 >Xbone S
Jack Foster
What were these bugs that Transformed had? I've never run into these myself.
Ryder Flores
Dude, it's a fucking kart racer. It's not CPU demanding in any way.
What was wrong with Transformed? I never experienced any bugs in that game.
Logan Roberts
>Wii U version had a glitch where Boost Challenges were essentially unplayable because the checkpoints wouldn't show up >Collision detection issues where if you hit a wall you would sometimes get stuck or turned around completely and fucked over Those are the only ones off the top of my head. Didn't have to deal with the Wii U glitch because I got the game well after launch, but occasionally I replay the game and sometimes in boat and plane sections, the collision detection fucks me over
Sebastian Reed
janky collision boxes mostly, especially in some of the flying sections
Carter Scott
You forgot that sometimes going too fast off a ramp and getting some air would sometimes make the game consider you out of bounds. It wasn't consistent, so it was jank as fuck.
Levi Watson
That too, yeah. I love me some Transformed every now and then, and TSR as well, but damn do the bugs hold them back in some areas
Matthew Murphy
I didn't get transformed at launch so some shit might've been patched already. As for what I personally experienced: >Online the collision between players would fuck up and tapping someone could send you flying >The car physics were sometimes weird in general when going off of ramps or over hills, sending you off at weird angles if you don't take them just right The first one doesn't happen in TSR to my knowledge, but the second one is still a fairly common thing.
In addition to that though, lobbies in TSR often die before the race even starts for some reason. Everyone just DCs and gets kicked from the lobby. From what I've heard this doesn't happen on the console versions.
Colton Nguyen
I don't know how any of what I said is seething comment. I stated straight up facts. TSR is a budget title sent out to die. MK is premier title sent out to sale consoles. If you believe I'm shit posting against TSR, you are mistaken. I am knee deep in my enjoyment of the game, but I wish Sumo Digital would clean their fucking act up and finally release a finished polished product at launch. It's ridiculous that we're 3 games in and they still can't iron out technical details. That's not including the work they did for Disney Infinity Racing.
Mario Kart is simply not as graphically instensive and the tracks are designed in a way that all points stress the hardware equally unlike Sonic
Charles Smith
It's easier to optimize a game when your not making it for 4 platforms and it's your own hardware.
Xavier Edwards
It would help a ton if they kept the same team between games so they can catch the issues and polish accordingly, but from what I've seen, all 3 of the games have a different team that worked on them
Robert Moore
>I don't know how any of what I said is seething comment. sure user
user I agree with you but the entire layout just screamed frustration, I get why heck, my comment is agreeing with you that Sumo is shitty when it comes to Polish on their games.
Jeremiah Cook
Tell me how I'm supposed to feel when this game is janky as fuck. You can't race with other team mates online on Switch or PC because there's no built in party system. Online is completely broken with constant disconnects and "Lobby No Longer Exist" errors when trying to do party groups. The game is still as janky as the first game in the series. I really want to like this game because the team racing mechanics is honestly really gucking fun, but Sumo just doesn't want people to have fun.
Levi Turner
This game must be poorly optimized on consoles because the 750ti was about equal with ps4 and xbone one when they released. It is expected for things to get more optimized for them as time goes on so they should be slightly better than the 750ti, maybe like a gtx 960 or something.
Cooper Bennett
Switch is last for being 30 fps and missing fmv
Jackson Gray
Its the same on xbox one and ps4. The entire online component is fucked up and it will be the death sentence of this game. Transformed has some messed up online physics but at least it was always playable and still is
James Wood
While that might have been true for weird architectures like the PS3 and PS2, it's less true for these ones. Since they're pretty conventional hardware, devs were already squeezing all their power at launch. But yes, this game sounds unoptimized as fuck, you can tell because the PS4pro is running it better than the xbonerx.
Dylan Roberts
Think they could fix the online in a patch somehow to prevent that? I've yet to play online but it would suck to have it die so early
Xavier Ward
Of course they can. But sega treats modern sonic badly. You can tell they wanted to get this game out and just move on. To much time on making memes saying how bad they are on twitter and hiring the gamegrumps cuck to help them shit on sonic, not enough time or care on the actual products. The one saving grace is, private lobbies work fine. I joined a random game on xbox, had a bunch of players in my recent players list, then invited them to a private lobby and we played with no problems. I dont know if i was lucky but it was stable compared to the regular public matchmaking
Jeremiah Moore
>it would suck to have it die so early I can't speak for the other versions, but PC online is already 100% dead.
The only hope is patching the online so it works, then having a sale to bring in new blood.
Xavier Kelly
>switch runs 30fps but keeps consistency and fewer frame drops >base xbox and base PS4 runs 60fps but dips to 40 fps almost every time >Xbone X has almost the same frame drop issue >PS4 Pro and PC are the only versions that are almost perfect right
Liam Brown
Truly a fucking shame, I love this game and there's so much potential for DLC. If they honestly just added a bunch of extra characters, new stages, and the few Sonic stages from the first two games that didn't get into this game already, I would easily drop MK8 in favor of this and be playing it for years. I've already logged 70+ hours into it and haven't even touched Time Trials yet. I guess that's feasible, since vocal players are what helped fix Transformed, but knowing SEGA, it probably won't happen.
