It's not a matter of "I don't have the time" "I have this that and the other thing to do instead."
Everyone has the same amount of time, you don't "find" time, you make time. If it's important, you make time for it. If you aren't willing to make time to make some connections then you fucking deserve to be stuck playing with [French Language].

Problem is that solo content will never be dramatically easier than party content because you lose the collective puzzle-solving element from playing with people. Solo deep dungeon is more difficult due to elements of RNG rather than the actual challenge in the fighting itself.

I'm open to the attempt but just like everything else they spoke about when BLU was coming out I feel like they're just gonna miss the mark. I have a feeling that unless they hit a home-run with future BLU content they will just eventually retool it into a proper battle class in 6.0, with one completely new job with it. My hunch is that 6.0 will be the last time we actually get "two" jobs with any future additions being singular jobs since we've really run out of jobs to pull from now anyway.

Should've spent that money on HRT instead.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: 6.0 gets a healer and retooled BLU, 7.0 gets a ranged phys DPS to bring every role to 4 jobs, and then it's maintenance mode.
20 Jobs seems like a fine number to end it on IMO.

They hit just marginally harder than 4.0 levelling dungeons. Assuming you do mechanics correctly. There's a night and day difference between people screwing up the water AoEs and sitting in them.

60-70 dungeons even in the current patch hit harder than max level ones, btw.

This game has the most stupid difficulty curve I have ever seen in a MMO. For over 300+ hours the game treats you like an idiot through the dungeons and MSQ quests then when that person finally steps into their first relevant EX primal or Savage fight they get absolutely destroyed because they've been handhold and carried for hundreds of hours. This game should be gradually turning up its difficulty instead of treating the player like a retard for most of the game (Remember Hien's solo instance? Takes 300 hours of /playtime to get there yet it plays like a level 15 duty).

Yeah, you're right, the step onto Savage is insane and this was even more evident in HW. There is almost no difficulty curve present in the entire game because it caters so hard to casuals all the way to endgame, and it never gets better besides a few rare instances. Meanwhile coddling is encouraged and any hint of bullying is reported, even if it isn't actually bullying. The jump to trials alone is insane and no designer worth their salt would expect a casual to make that leap on their own with how much information is hidden away and how much you're expected to look up on the net. Even the basic requirement of "Complete the SSS trial" isn't there, let alone a symbol that you did finish it so your team knows what you're up to. And they could add so much more: performance indicators in dungeons, rewards for performing well, etc. But their response has always been "but it might alienate the weaker players".

To 60? Yeah but you still are going to have to pay. By this I mean pre order ShB and get earrings. It's an easy buff which stacks with a FC buff and if you are on a road to 60 server then it also stacks to that. So you have a 150-180% buff which is retardedly effective.

The regular trials can be really difficult for shitters. Remember when people were nearing the end of Stormblood and people were asking for nerfs to Shinryu? There was even people that needed to buy clears in order to finish it.

Did they though? I don't remember the media tour attendees or the devs making a note of it, compared to now attendees noticing it, asking Yoshida about it and Yoshida admitting it. Healers also didn't get as many additional healing tools in 4.0 as they will in 5.0. WHM only really got Plenary and SCH got tether and Excog. AST got Earthly Star and an rng-based, okay heal.

In 5.0 WHM keeps all tools and gets 2 ogcd heals, SCH gains a metric ton, AST keeps everything save for Lady, gets an Earthly Star/Plenary hybrid, a second Aspected Benefic, Opposition is now a heal too, Essential's getting a second charge. It's not like their potencies shrank as a result of having more healing buttons, either.

We may still get the same shit but that's a waste of a lot of abilities if that's the case.

PLD will be top tier for utility
DRK will also be good but you won't want to play it because it's popular and you're a hipster
GUN will be played by idiots who like FF8

GNB has overall better support tools than PLD. Heart of Light is a better Passage of Arms in every way, Heart of Stone is the best 25s support CD out of any of the tanks, Aurora is 100% unique and the only tank heal that can both be deployed on other players and doesnt cost them a GCD like Clemency.

Cover, Intervention, and Shelltron all cost gauge and Cover lost the free mitigation making it significantly more niche, and Passage just cant compete with HoL when HoL is a 30s shorter CD for the same amount of mitigation and it doesn't lock you in place. They are arguably equal in utility value.

Camoflague is filler and still better than most other filler CDs like Dark Mind or Raw Intuition (Although you can make an argument that Raw is really good with its low CD) because while the parry rate buff kinda sucks ass you still get an extra 10% mitigation which applies to all types of damage, where Dark Mind can only mitigate magic and Raw Intuition can only mitigate physical attacks. Remember that everyone still has Rampart on top of this so you can just pair Camouflage with it if you really need it.

It becomes free (and DH+Crit) during Inner Release.

If Crystal I think Malboro is currently still a preferred server so you can get a free XP buff up to lv. 60. If Primal, Exodus is insanely newbie-friendly. If Aether, try Midgardsormr or Adamantoise. Beware Zalera, Excalibur, and Faerie respectively.

LD is situationally better than both Holmgang and Hallowed. Holmgang is usually the broken one of the bunch due to its low cooldown and Hallowed the weakest one due to being the highest, if all 3 can fulfill the same function. Getting a DRK from 1 to full is stupid easy and it's not even required. Super Bolide is literally a worse Hallowed with a cost.

Potency is the last thing anyone should worry about because it's one of the easiest things to adjust post launch before Savage comes out (See SCH, DRG, SMN, and MCH all being ass at the launch of SB but mostly fixed when the Savage patch dropped) What people SHOULD be giving a shit about is the simple functionality of new abilities because that's less likely to change dramatically.

The effect works but its really shitty from a player perspective. It reduces your HP to 1 and that will give any sprout healer a heart attack. It can also be used to troll players in DF where they decide to pop it and cancel the effect so you are no longer invuln but your HP is still reduced to 1.

Why not just make Barrage use Refulgent Arrow if you'll only use Barrage with Refuldgent Arrow?

Because? It's an MMO, not a single player game. Healing up is going to happen at some point anyway. Have the DRK use LD on low health, it barely changes the healing they need to take. It has a lower cd and due to the way it works, can mitigate more damage than Hallowed over a fight on top of it.

Because you're not looking at the CD. Hallowed was always laughed at for it's long CD during HW. In A1S healing a PLD was much harder than a WAR because WAR could mitigate more damage shuffling around cds thanks to surviving two busters with Holmgang whereas PLD could only immune one. Context matters and you're leaving important details out solely to prove your invalid point. All three existing ones can situationally beat out the other.

They cards are 6% single target instead of 5% AoE, but since you don't spread anymore and every single card is The Balance, you'll be using cards FAR more frequently, Lord and Lady stack with The Balance, and you get an AoE Balance after every third Balance. Cards are still king, the frequency and usability of them more than make up for the loss of Spread when WHM gained n o t h i n g, and SCH still only has Chain.

How is it getting gutted? I play AST usually but I fucking hate the new card changes.

It was a hypothetical situation using an already established fight to make things easier to understand.

Controller and keyboard works fine, I do that on PC even. Healing takes some getting used to, but overall it all works.

Make sure to turn on your extended crossbar. By default you just have R2 and L2, but you can turn on an option that lets you also have bars by holding R2 then L2 and vice versa and bars by double tapping either R2 or L2. This is basically mandatory if you plan to play on controller, i have no idea why it isn't on by default.

If you plan to do crafting, you are gonna have to go all in and omnicraft due to crafters still having cross class skills which are basically mandatory and due to lots of recipes require crafted materials from different classes. So if you want to craft (which is the best way to make gil), be prepared for the grind. Also I'd recommend waiting on starting crafters til at least lvl 50 so you can just shoot straight through it. At least wait until you can unlock retainers (which I'm not sure if you can get in the trial version).

Feel free to level gatherers whenever you like though, if you don't want to spend a fortune on crafting, they are mandatory. But Miner and Botanist are the only "necessary" gatherers, fisher is mostly for the enjoyment of it and for filling aquariums. Only 2 crafters actually use fish in recipes.

SAM is the most fun melee DPS job.
And you shouldn't care what other people are playing, it's your sub not theirs.

What's the point of doing savage in this game? The fight mechanics repeat once the boss reaches 50% HP and best in slot gear is pointless in this game since welfare gear is so abundant and vertical gear progression ensures that your gear is outdated 6 months later.

I've noticed that the customer support for xiv are a lot more lenient if your harasser uses SJW language. If they call you toxic and so forth and use that as reasoning they'll circumvent the reporting thing or at least make the punishment a LOT milder. Then again I don't report that often but that's what I've seen anywho. This is an issue that'd get taken really seriously otherwise. Sam currently shares the title of highest potential DPS class with Black mage. It's biggest flaw is that it has zero unique party utility, and it's only non-role action utility is slashing defense debuff, which is pretty nice but something both Warrior and Ninja have as well.

It's fun and fast paced though, and with Squeenix attempting to reduce synergies in ShB, I suspect "being a selfish class" will be considered less of a flaw starting next month.

Sorry I forgot to say, you will have to set things up at some point though so that you can use actionbars properly. I don't quite remember how i set it up but I think i held in LB2+RB2 (?) when i had to use extra buttons. Generally buffs and other abilities while I had normal attacking abilities and more active buttons up normally.

I don't think that's entirely true, WoW is designed with the idea that anyone can join in on a new expansion and start playing it immediately by using a complimentary level boost.
In terms of playerbase, I think you're right, but not really in terms of game design.

Instead of you have highly skilled players getting passed on static slots because "oops we need the ""utility"" (damage boosting for other people) another job brings :^)"

If you mean "the game is easy" I dunno. normal low level dungeons are pretty rough compared to say wow and a lot of content gradually teaches you to wise up. Then there's the fact that there's a lot of non-optional trials that can fuck you up. If you are new to (content) or a sprout. If people are made aware you're new they'll generally be a lot nicer and easier on you though.

At the very least the current "locks" for utility that people demand won't be anywhere near as much this time around. Trick Attack is the only thing that seems to be untouched and we still don't know if its potency is getting changed or not, AST will be focused around constantly dispensing small buffs instead of AoE spreading buffs or delivering one huge buff, SMN is losing Contagion and Radiant Shield, party-wide buffs in general are down across the board.

Well that's more about the player base than the system itself. All the synergies barely matter in Pugs because you need a team that's properly communicating and lining up buffs together to take advantage of the synergy.
