Adventure was the comfiest shit

Attached: 1557217983653.jpg (623x702, 177K)

I feel like Adventure really was just an Adventure, they were always on a journey. With 02 they just popped into the digital world every other weekend, in Tamers the first third of the story just has them dealing with digimon as they pop up and they don't entire the digital world until later, while Savers has a similar thing going on to Tamers.

Ironically the closest a series after Adventure came to capturing the original spirit of going on an adventure was Frontier.

World 1 & 3 were pretty good. I'm not much of an RPG guy but I have some vaguely good memories of them. I was more into Rumble Arena though, since it was a fun Smash clone that had the first three series represented and a phenomenal OST. Battle Spirit 2 on GBA is also okay as a Smash clone, but mostly if you want to play as Frontier characters.

Frontier is underrated. Its story isn't as good as Adventure or Tamers, mostly in that it falters a lot during a late-game arc, but I always enjoyed it. Best transformation sequences in the franchise, fantastic designs for all the Spirits, and the soundtrack ruled (both sub and dub; sub is the same hot-blooded guitars you expect from JP Digimon, while the dub used tribal music that worked really well with the Spiritual themes which I have intense nostalgia for).

>Someone who appreciates dub as well as sub soundtracks
Is it even possible for an user to be this based?

When it comes to Frontier I can't ignore that dub music. It's too good.

There's pretty much no official clean rips of most of the music which is a huge shame. The best you get is short clips that try to loop or isolate versions without voice clips.

>mfw bamco has the digimon license and will keep churning out no-budget cashgrabs for eternity
>No one with a creative vision and a talented team will ever get their hands on the license

DW Next Order is pretty good

survive might be promising
don't think they've actually shown much yet though

NO LILITHMON NO BUY

i liked digimon world 4

when was the last time you played a digimon game? because habu's games have been good and he clearly cares about the franchise. the next story game will probably get a bigger budget too because of how successful cyber sleuth turned out to be in the west.

>playing Next Order
>get up to the first machinedramon fight beyond the tutorial one (the one in the desert area)
>get pretty much one-shot by it

Am I supposed to do a bunch of other shit and then return to this or something? I think my prosperity is only about 19.

Digimon World Dawn/Dusk is decent.

Hopefully Digimon Survive turns out ok

Survive looks pretty good.

I too have a numbers fetish my friend

You gotta level up your Digimon. I also did it the old-fashioned way and kust bought a fuckton of Recovery Floppy and stuff like that. Also, use the Guard command if you have it, there's an upgrade that allows you to take zero damage. It's helpful for setting up the super attacks with your other bro

Probably best to keep training, your digimon are likely not strong enough. Make sure to get the defend command skill as well
I liked it as well, although it's a prime example of the "it's a good game, just not a good (series) game" meme

Are you kidding? This game is super bad
It has only nostalgia going for it

I have the english patched version but I always watched Digimon dubbed as a kid so the sub voices are a bit jarring, is it worth powering through my discomfort and playing the whole thing?

The game has massive spikes in difficulty. I had a Mega for that fight and still had trouble. It's frustrating just how quickly champions and ultimates become useless.

If I buy Survive day one, will they port Next Order to PC?

>already played world 3 to death
>slowly grinding away at world 4 but it hardly feels like digimon
>no interest in playing DmW1 because of its limited cast
>re:digitize on PSP doesn’t have nearly as much content as decoded, but decoded is stuck on the 3DS with a horribly incompetent tl team
>no vita and no ps4
what the fuck do I play? alternatively how do I convince myself to play world 1 or re:digitize?

In which games can I get a Lilithmon as my partner?
I know Re:digitize is one, is it good?

>bamco has the digimon license
Well yeah, that's how owning an IP works

user, world 4 is hardly a good game. it’s decent at best and the only thing it gives you is a wavering sense of fulfillment over increasing your stats and grinding away to get the next weapon tier or evolution. it’s just barely passable regardless of its branding

I think she is post game only? Been a while, could be wrong.

Survive looks really good, I'm really digging the 2D graphical style

Some of the DS games are good, you could try those

There's digimon world dawn/dusk and world ds, although they are jrpgs similar to cyber sleuths

I want a game with early Tamers aesthetic, it felt kind of urban fantasy

fuck

But why did he wear a jumpsuit? Was he too fat to wear anything else?

I tried those but they just made me want to play world 3 instead. sure, the farm thing is kinda neat but the area structure and combat just didn’t click with me

>over half of the episodes are set in a horribly bland looking area with almost nothing happening stretched to shit to fill a quota
>filler episodes are at their worst
>new forms introduced and instantly outclassed all the way until they get lucky and beat the royal knights
>only interesting episode with takuya going back to the real world is followed by a horrible episode
>ice devimon as a whole
fuck me the second half of frontier was trash until the very end

Cybersluts

I too love (LITERALLY) half hour long loading screens

Yokai Watch is that. But I know you meant a Digimon game.

when you're like 12 you dont give ashit about minor details like that, just the fact that you can go around beating the shit out of things with an axe as agumon

Have you tried the digivice app? I think it's called digimon ultimate or something like that, you could try w2 but not many people love it.

for me world 3 was the best

I thought it was a co-op beat em up when I saw the preview video and Walmart. Never finished it.

it technically is. its 4 players. it feels kinda diabloish go be honest.

Dw1 is one of my favorite games ever. Redigitize was good but kinda missed the mark with its barren areas and lame progression system. Do we have anything like dw1 on the horizon to look forward to?

Rate my list brahs

Attached: purity level.png (1150x734, 871K)

it's balanced around 4-player co-op. the problem is that nobody had three other friends still interested in digimon in 2005.

here's the gist of it
>arrive in a new area
>grind for about an hour if needed in a single room
>progress for a little while
>stop for another hour or two to grind you techniques that level up separately. pic related. pray to your god of choice you don't have a skill like fireball that takes eons to level
>progress
>finish a dungeon which is essentially a series of corridors and rooms in an anal bead format. all chest rewards are random and shit 99% of the time
>beat the boss effortlessly
>repeat for the next three areas

You're a good guy, user.

crabs are chill, how dare you. also you put labramon in twice

Please forgive me, I had to update it manually because the site didn't have all the rookies and I'm a big dumbfuck.

Attached: Patamon_digimonweb.jpg (500x432, 42K)

We need more Lilithmon!

Attached: Untitled.png (760x700, 82K)

the upgrade system was weird as hell because it took way longer to get upgrades earlier and then it got really fucking fast later on. probably due to mp i guess.

it's a very simple curve, really. unintuitive as all hell at first, but simple

Cyber sleuths is one of my all time favourite games. It only really get good halfway through. I just wished the battles were fleshed out though

If you could have one Digimon as your partner on all your adventures through the digital world, who would it be?

For me, it's Bancholilymon.

Attached: 03.jpg (850x1081, 198K)

do you mean like, as an actual bro digimon or to fuck

Imagine if your digimon partner didnt like you hanging out with members of the opposite sex. What would you do?

>Not having a wise wizard be your guide

Attached: 69510932_p0.jpg (2048x2048, 2.51M)

I can understand the confusion given the one I posted but yeah I'm not talking waifus, I'm just talking about regular bro-tier partners to go adventures on, bond with, get them to digivolve when you're in danger, fight enemies with, etc.

As if hanging out with members of the opposite sex is something I'd do frequently enough to worry about.

Wizardmon is a damn good choice, you've got taste.

Attached: 02.jpg (800x1103, 443K)

it begins

based frontierbro

what begins

Attached: Bearmon2.jpg (320x320, 61K)

Digimon world 1 but only if you have supreme taste in video games

Attached: 63552582_p0.jpg (590x1050, 98K)

that was a pretty funny case in cyber sleuths

Gomamon I guess

>TECH and TIME are inverted
well fuck
