How do you find time to play vidya when you have a full job that exhausts you? 6 months in and I can’t find the balance.

Give up video games and get a more healthy hobby. I get off work at 530 and go straight to the gym. Once I get home I fuck around with computers. Video games aren't fun anymore.
why are you here
I usually just play vidya a couple hours, once or twice a week when I feel like it.
Depends on what I'm playing, really.
If I'm really liking it, I'll set aside 4 hours when I have some down time.
For me it's: 9 hours at work + 1 hour of commute + 1 hour exercise + 1 hour for eating/grooming + 6 hours of sleep. That's 6 hours of time for me that go mostly towards vidya. I am living with my fiancee now, so spending time with her is eating into that, but she gives me my space when I need it. I'm more worried about when we start having kids. I don't want my kids to get into vidya, and that's a hard thing to enforce if I spend most of my free time on it.
Same
>Don't forget, YOU'RE HERE FOREVER
i want to FUCK retsuko
>gym
no s
I wanna marry and mating press Retsuko.
Just gotta manage your time better. I work 40 hours a week, go to the gym six days a week and still have time for cooking, gaming, socializing and whatever other things I need to do.
by actively keeping them out of something you'll only entice them more.
Work out, get in shape, stop eating and drinking like shit. I have a full time, physical job and a gym membership and I have so much more energy to do whatever the hell I want since I've lost weight.
>lift things up and put them down for hours every week
Hobbies don't get any better than this!
Easy, no social life.
I make time for sports, work, other hobbies, just no social life.
what do you guys want to see in season 2?
I just limit myself to one to two hours everyday, most of the time multiplayer games.
The rest of the day I practice drawings.
I don't know if I'd ever get another hobby as I love drawing and can get a couple of extra bucks out of that.
Sucks to be you. I do all that and play vidya.
Cringe.
>I pick things up and put them in my mouth
REEEEEE STOP HAVING FUN AND BE DEPRESSED LIKE ME
Work at day, play games at night, 3 to 4 hours. Sleep at 11. It's alright.
Dumb lanklet, don't you know that eating is more important to a gymgoer than to a fatass?
Depends on what your playing
It’s a game that needs high pressure and focus, then you won’t be able to play much.
Learn more genre’s so you can actually play games that aren’t so stressing
>stop eating like shit
>stop abusing caffeine, nicotine and alcohol
>get proper amount of sleep (7-8 hours at least)
>switch jobs to a less demanding one with a shorter commute time
>never agree to overtime or any other attempts to take away your time off
The most important thing is to work slower and at your own pace. Whatever you're doing won't probably result in the world collapsing if you leave it unfinished or if you half-ass it. Don't let anyone force you to actually work hard because it doesn't pay off, switching jobs is actually more profitable than staying in one place and working hard in hopes of a raise or a promotion.
Being below average is the best thing you can possibly do because then someone else will get the "honor" of being the "go-to" guy who babysits and solves the issues of all other workers and is held to a higher standard despite receiving the same pay as everyone else while you get easier tasks because everyone thinks that you're an irresponsible dumbass.
I play video games at work
Oh my God, she's JUST like us.
Even when I leave for work at 8 am and come back at 7 pm there's more than enough time for anything until midnight.
Also I think a lot of people use "work exhaustion" as an excuse to be lazy after returning home regardless of whether their job is actually tough or not.
Gym might be the answer huh? I’ll try it, thanks
what is your job
Not really. I've been going for last 9 months and the only thing that's changed, besides how I look, is that I kinda want to fuck more. Too bad I don't have a gf, she might've liked that. Nothing changed on how much I want to play vidya, it's the same as it always been.
Nice, of all the forms of physical activity you got meme'd into the most dreadfully boring one.
>I don't want my kids to get into vidya
Don't make them be the weird kid in class whose parents wont buy him bing bing wahoo.
i dnot have a full time job that exhausts me
Simple, I don't have a job.
wtf why is the cameraman not helping his pet snake?
Get off Yea Forums and the internet in general. I don't think you understand just how much time you waste shitposting on here.
Play video games after work.
Retard.
Play during the weekends, ask if you can space your hours across 7 days instead of 5, or truncate it to 4 instead of 5. My dad did the latter when he got into golf and he can spend all day at the course.
Ragie wagie stomps his feet
Ragie wagie can't be NEET
dare I say... /OUR GIRL/?
Would Retsuko be the kind of gf that watches you play video games Yea Forums?
I work as a developer, work 9:30 to 5:30, play my Vita on the commute, and I have from 7 to 12pm after dinner to do whatever I want
I SAD NO STEPPY
I've been unemployed for a year and a half except for some freelance jobs. I used to work in the morning and study in the afternoon until night so I'd leave home at 6am and get back until around 11pm. It was pretty exhausting but you learn that portable consoles and phone emulators are your friends, especially when you spend around three hours inside a bus daily. I used to play 3DS while on the bus and it let my time go by while having fun and resting mentally from the whole load of work. Nothing better than playing weebshit like Hatsune Miku next to strangers in a cramped bus.
easy, I don't have a job
Huh?
In what way is 8 hours at a desk exhausting?
I work 8 hours a day, go to the gym, come home, play vidya, and fuck around for another 4 or 5 hours.
>job
found your problem.
get a better job
I wish I could find a full time job that exhausts me. I want out of retail bros.
Some people have to think at their jobs, or have the crushing weight of responsibility. It can be pretty draining
I started playing videogames during the lunch break with my colleagues. Really.
>a full time job that exhausts me
But thats retail...
I don't have a job.
>how do you pay for games
I don't buy new ones
>oh so you pirate
no, I just don't buy new games
>you're on welfare you fucking leech
nope, I couch surf, and have a laptop that plays all the games I like because they're all 10 years old or older.I do manual labor to earn my keep if someone asks, but usually that's 2 hours of work a week, maybe.
You must be 18 to browse this site
I used to be in the same boat. I think I was exhausted because I was overworked and didn't like my job. Now that things are looking up a bit, I actually feel a bit more energized. As long as you have healthy work hours, you should have several hours on weekdays for free time.
Going to the gym is a based hobby but it's fine to like both. I try to lift weights 6 times a week after work and still have time for vidya.
Haida hooking up with Fenneko instead of that bitch Retsuko
By making a schedule, sometimes I end up playing more vidya than expected.
Vore me daddy
Fun fact: you never liked videogames, you only wanted to be accepted by reddit
>Being below average is the best thing you can possibly do because then someone else will get the "honor" of being the "go-to" guy who babysits and solves the issues of all other workers and is held to a higher standard despite receiving the same pay as everyone else while you get easier tasks because everyone thinks that you're an irresponsible dumbass.
I should've learned this ages ago. If you can handle tougher work, you can handle a better job with better pay.
Fuck me, you're right. How do I get out of retail then? Every lead on a job I've had has left me high and dry or something.
Look into trades.
>push buttons down and let them up again
BING BING WAHOO
Honestly stepping down from my supervisor position in retail due to this. You’re so fucking right.
Have you asked for feedback after applying? Have you done exit interviews?
>work two jobs right after graduating with useless degree
>debt free but pretty unmotivated to do much
>13 hour workday six days a week
>quit both jobs after getting offer of being IT for small company by CEO who’s friends dad
>tripled pay of both previous jobs combined
>sit around doing nothing most days
I’ve picked up working out and just got two new kittens. Honestly some sound advice that’s sort of memey is to work smart not harder, if you can work extra hard at a job you should take that extra effort and point towards a new skill that’ll help get you a better job
Good advice. I recently found out my Mormon coworker who does like 3x the amount of work I do and who everyone goes to help for was making almost the same amount as I was. I'm the laziest fucking programmer I've ever known and I still get praised by my boss during reviews.
That's my plan right now, might get into welding with my dad.
Done one yeah, but boss didnt have much to say. He knew I worked hard and all, but they changed managers every few months almost.
32 hour work week as a programmer.
>stop abusing caffeine, nicotine and alcohol
this shit right here, especially caffeine. media has seriously glorified it to be some magical drink with absolutely no downsides but at the end of the day, its a stimulant, with downsides to it if you keep drinking it daily.
>glorified it to be some magical drink with absolutely no downsides
you're retarded
I work a 3 days on 3 days off schedule 12-16 hours a day. As long as I end my shifts and sleep properly I usually vidya, hangout, and gym those three days because I have plenary of energy. Back when I wasn’t used to it I just watched anime because it’s like watching vidya in a sense
Coffee is fine and research into it 9/10 times says it's even good for you. Energy drinks are complete garbage on your body though.
I've cut out everything else in my life that isn't job, food or exercise.
>Pass out at work the other day
>Manager decides to move my coworkers to shitty 3rd shift because I won't be able to handle it and they've been needing people 3rd shift
>We still get paid the same
