The reality is that it’s too expensive for studios that are trying to cut costs or keep production down and requires additional resources that would best be allocated elsewhere, it’s more efficient to have humanoid rigs that can be applied to multiple models or slightly tweaked

Some games have really cool beastfolk. I prefer if the beastfolk are more than just "humans with scales/fur" though, on a conceptual level. Not so much the appearance, but the behavior should be "alien".

Anyone recommend mods to turn these lizard and cat people into decent models, not even sexual ones. It just seems that they where a afterthought to the game.

Presumably, it's an evolutionary advantage to encourage other races to share their body heat.

the problem is all the modders who would/could do that are to busy looking at the tits/ass they modded in and don't ever actually look at the face so they never recognise it as a problem
most of the face retextures/body remodels are good quickfix
