Are these new Sega Saturn controllers by RetroBit any good? looking a controller for my PC...
you think a controller that doesn't even have an analog stick or triggers is going to be good on PC? lmao
for 2d indie games
upvote
I wouldn't buy it outside of collection purposes.
Many indie games uses triggers nowadays. But apparently that controller already have two triggers, and you can use the extra face buttons to compensate for the lack of the second trigger set.
Had one and NO they break easily. The dpad sucks.
Of you need something good for 2d games get the ibuffalo snes
i returned mine because the shoulder buttons are of an extremely poor quality. the dpad and face buttons were pretty legit though. wait till 8bitdo does a wired m30. perfect pad right there.
we had a thread in /vr/
the triggers don't click anymore and instead are normal buttons
if you liked the saturn controller yes. i hated the web dpad and the mushy little top row of buttons then, i still hate them now
who the fuck used the triggers on this controller?
I've found that retrolink and retrobit controllers are generally not of very good quality. They attempt to cash in on nostalgia but make very cheap hardware to do it.
Anyone who played shining force 3 or mega man x4 among others.
Excellent controllers
The shoulder buttons do feel different but I’m not losing any inputs and they nailed the d pad perfectly. This is my favorite controller for anything 2D
>8shitdo
lol, you fucking fags, every thread
>Bought the NES pro (one with the X/Y and sticks) couple years ago
>Connected it to my PC, updated firmware, let it charge a bit
>Wouldn't connect to my switch, my pi, only worked on my PC when it was wired, even though I bought the goddamn BT piece they recommended (before they did their own)
>Replaced it with another one that was DOA
>Got another replacement, this time famicom colors, that burned itself out trying to connect and wouldn't work after that
>Gave up and returned it
>Years later a friend gifted me the new SNES one and their official dongle
>Felt a lot better than the plastic shit but still barely fucking works, sticks feel like garbage
>Have just had it on display since
The only third party shit I trust is hori or hyperkin. You fucking 8shitdo shills need to fuck off.
Just get a good quality controller adapter like the 4-play and the original controllers and never worry about imitation quality (or lack thereof) again.
no
completely crap
get xbox one controller
In retro-bit's defense, they did admit that there was a quality issue with the dpad and supposedly rectified it after the first batch but jesus christ how hard is it to just use the same molds and plastic quality from the originals.
>this retard shill
this is why Yea Forums is a shithole
don't buy this crap, this faggot don't use it to play
the dpad is crap, one shoryuken and it breaks
Give me more examples of this happening. Real proof and I’ll believe you. Just because it happens to one person doesn’t make the rest bad. If you give me one more I’ll accept your claim.
If you want a decent SNES controller, iBuffalo are really good models. People commonly complain about the Y button feeling iffy on it but I've never had any problems with it.
Gonna back up this user unless there's a specific reason you want a 6 face button controller, in which case I'd look into Hori fightpads. Xbone controllers are actually decent, typically lack the errors that the 360 models had (leftward drift on the analog stick and shitty dpad in particular). Good for general purpose stuff.
This uses official SEGA molds, aside from the triggers which are no longer microswitched.
Pokken controllers are really comfortable
I have Kiwitata SNES controllers for old school emulation, and an Aftterglow Xbox 360 controller for modern games. The SNES controller took a while to get used to, but I became pretty comfortable with it after 30 minutes or so. I don't think the D-pad is perfect, but I don't really mind for what I paid. The 360 controller is pretty damn good. I played through Dark Souls 3 with it and can't remember having any issues. However, if you're willing to spend the money, get a first party Xbox controller if you want to use an analog stick. They feel more robust.
Retro bit in my experience has always produced incredibly shoddy controllers. 8bitdo is generally the best for third party controllers if you can be bothered to modify their shit dpads.
Otherwise youd be better off buying an official controller and a converter.
It is already wired, plug it in via the USB cable and it works as wired controller.
Get the 8bitdo one instead. It's fucking perfect for 2D fighters
I understand that the official NEOGEO mini pads are kind of shit. Are there any decent USB/Bluetooth reproductions of the NEOGEO CD controller?
Failing that, what are some decent controllers with tactile switches on the analog stick? I know it's autistic, but clicky sticks just get my dick hard.
Reviews say that yes, they are good.
The first batch had a serious problem with the Dpad plastic quality so be aware.
I'm personally waiting for this one.
I hope the quality is good on that, cause it looks sexy
Honestly I'd rather see them take the 3D control pad and add a second stick.
