I love shitty Japanese games and I couldn't stand it. I regret renting it from Gamefly. I mean try it but I couldn't get past chapter 4. The gameplay is just really bad unfortunately and there really isn't a good way to cheese it to see the story.

The story is too ambitious for the budget. They actually do a good job of making your choices matter without even telling you, but the final outcomes are all handled in, like, 2-3 lines of text.

People could do a lot of things, but the question is whether or not the interest is there, and it's not. Nier's port only got fixed because someone was interested in doing so, and the game being so popular makes it a much higher chance that someone is willing and capable of the work. Left Alive is a game that only really appeals to a super small niche, even if the port was fixed and the game was rebalanced in a way that more people like most of those people wouldn't get past the jank.
