Go away Josh you have a forum to maintain
Why do prebuilts always have expensive as shit components except for the graphics card?
can't wait for the inevitable moon tranny and hard lefty saga
Is there actually any good Pre-Built gaming PC with legitimately good parts and components and hardware and software?
>Buy pre built gaymer pc
>Its actually good and not overpriced because its from a trusted store in first world (see: nordic)
Went better than expects
why do pre-built PC always have overkill CPU and shitty GPU
No because their whole purpose is getting rid of unsellable stock.
Most places cheap out of the mobos, PSUs, and just have underpowered GPUs, and RAM.
>OP bought pre-built from Dell
>Has to be angry on image board
Alienware
no, the whole point of prebuilts is to take advantage of retards that cant just card A into slot B and pay a premium for it
Cringe
>pre built pcs in general
Imagine how much fucking tax money could be saved if government departments built their own pcs.
nobody:
literally nobody:
Yea Forums people: >pre-built gaming PC
not all people are basement dwellers and no-life mechanic scum, deal with it
>$700 for an alien head
>pre-built gaming console
you can get rare cpu on pre-built you wont find in retail stores
I'm lusting for 2200GE CPU
Got to pay if you want quality
The idea is to sell to retards. Put up a lot of cores with many jiggahertz, a fuckton of RAM and a huge as fuck HDD and a GPU with a high number and you're set.
Most people who are "serious" about PC gaming have, at least, some minor knowledge about hardware, so it's not that easy to profit off them with a prebuilt. Combined with building being easy as fuck, it's barely worth it.
Post specs and price
You can literally build the same PC without the alien head and it will be a thousand dollars cheaper
I'm sorry your bad bait doesn't get as many replies as last week
Hold on guys, while most of them are trash, it is possible to find a good deal
That's simply not true. If it was everyone would do that
cope
lol no. been in tech director roles for a state university and a nationwide healthcare provider. far cheaper TCO with bulk discounts, warranties, and self-maintainer agreements.
You can easily build this for 700€
I dont speak baguette
I'm a retard and I managed to build a PC myself.
Unless you go absolutely overboard with components, water cooling, multiple storage devices, SLI and shit you can manage it too, not to mention you're robbing yourself out of an important experience.
>Be that guy that sits at computers all his life
>Can't even assemble one himself.
>go to my local electronics store
>asks if they have any new pc that's broken
>buy it for less than half the price
>buy a new cpu/psu or reflash the bios
I'm lazy
Errverr
>post-built gaming PC
not him but in 2009, I got a q6600, 8GB ddr3, 1TB WD blue, and 9800 GT for under $500 from dell outlet. Still running as my secondary machine to this day.
This better be bait honestly kill yourself if you think alien ware is quality
Dude you're getting a dell
>1050ti
>1300
in usa you can get one a with 1070 for less from best buy
Computer stores (Not best buy or some shit) sometimes have their own systems they build for you that are only like $100 more than the price of putting them together yourself and have pretty solid specs (usually pick them up if I need another render box or my mates ask me to recommend them a system)
>i5-9600k
>8 GB of single channel RAM
>GTX 1050Ti
>1.352 eurodollars
>pre-gamed built PC
in France too, if you dont buy pre-built
>not buying a used prebuilt optiplex for a hundred bucks and tossing a cheap GPU in there
epic fail
Recommend me a laptop thats still strong enough to run fighting games like Guilty Gear Xrd and Blazblue Central fiction
>paying 100 for a used optiplex
epic fail
Feed me errverrlord.
wait..
>GAYMEN LAPTOP
Dont get a laptop. Laptops are for work.
Not him, but I got a gaming laptop as I travel much between finland and syria
>tfw worked at a brick and mortar retail outlet selling prebuilds
>tfw literally scamming clueless parents into spending $2000+ on the cheapest parts we coule realistically use to get Fortnite running at 60
>tfw kids were more concerned about the case and RGB instead of the components
idk shit about computers but I'd like to get a proper desktop.
whats the best guide for parts you lot have found?
But Im just looking for a laptop decent enough to lab my fighting games between classes. I dont need powerhouse to play AAA max graphics games like Battlefield or Anthem
to be fair when i was kid i liked cool light up stuff too.
Trainers that had lights flash when you ran were sick
off lease biz machines are actually a super cost effective option if you're not autistic about case and whatever odd features.
if you buy the parts yourself right now, you're stupid. crypto has gpu prices through the fucking roof.
Honestly we could throw any old shit into a fancy looking case and throw some RGB on it and it would sell like hotcakes, my store still went out of business but it was a good scam for a few years
what a reddit post
That's still a thing? I thought it died off last year. I here I was thinking about upgrading my machine with all new components
check BTC price right now and be surprised. it's back up, causing a crypto craze. again. I'm glad I built my PC during the crash.
Twitter*
god Null is such a fucking faggot
wow so this is the power of a wakanda pc
I used to build my own but I was sick of having to RMA at least one component because it was D.O.A and wait a week to actually use my new build. fuck that nonsense
Sometimes I go into electronics stores to laugh at the pre builts.
€1000 mark ups are not uncommon. Always lots of ram and a shitty graphics card.
ISIS recruiter?
>gaming PC
What's the point when most PC exclusives aren't that demanding anyway
Prebuilt was actually a viable choice back when cryptoniggers drove up the price of cards.
Who the fuck is Josh
>exclusives
Because every non exclusive runs 10 times better.
I literally got the same specs with a different prebuilt for 500 mcdoubles cheaper. You're paying for the brand son stop being a corporate paypig and do your research. I have limited funds and fucking up while building an expensive rig is one of my biggest fears, once i have more stable income i'll probably build a toaster to practice though.
>between finland and syria
For what purpose?
>wasting time building a pc with a chance to fuck it up or have a professional who does this 8 hours a day and makes sure it performs at minmaxed computing.
Hmm..................... It's almost like there is a reason why prebuilt is a good choice.
>nobody xDDD
Go back to Facebook with your shit memes
Meme contraband.
Based and alienpilled, my laptop has served me well since 2012 and I've only had to change the battery on it once.
You genuinely have to be retarded to fuck up a PC build. Save yourself some cash and apply yourself. Do you pay someone to change the oil in your car as well?
>The Division.jpg
He's the popular alt-right youtuber and the owner of Kiwi Farms. Also goes by the name of MundaneMatt
>PC
>Gaming
AHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH
The cost of labor for government staff would quickly kill any potential cost reduction even before taking into account. Besides, the average staff member isn't doing anything beyond spreadsheets, email and sneakily browsing cake recipes. They only need a low end box. There's not the level of mark up you'd see on those compared to RGB l33t gamer shit like Razer and Alienware
Yeah no shit I have someone change my oil. Who the fucks changes their oil in 2019 that isn't at a mechanic shop.
>Do you pay someone to change the oil in your car as well?
N-no haha
HAHAHAHAH THIS IS A FUCKING SCAM
HOW DO NORMANS BUY THIS?
Me!
Most of these ports are acceptable at best, and the rest barely work.
logical increments and looking at other people's shit on pcpartpicker
what games do you play on your console?
>buy pre-built pc
>start upgrading it
everything went better than expected.
*pays $60 for a singleplayer game*
retard that just uses and old pc to play quake here
what's wrong with this?
fortnite. why?
Don't open this, it's cursed and will destroy your pc.
Anything I want. What do you play on PC? Dota2?
It's almost impossible to do anything yourself with a car built after 2010.
okay retard. I'd rather change the oil in my car myself and then spend the 50 bucks on a decent meal or three. Keep wasting money on easy shit that takes like 30 minutes of your time.
Even the shittiest PC port runs better than the "native" console version. Plus 90% of games nowadays are shooters of some kind so why in the fuck would you want to play them with a controller?
Endless space 2 and 4x games.
>building a pc only for it to look even more bland and colorless than a walmart pre-built
A good choice for the autistic gamer
holy fuck I forgot about this
Not that bad of a price considering it's just slightly above French minimum wage.
There are countries in Europe that only have 600€ as minimum wage and they sell you these pre-builts at the same price.
All these games.
mega.nz
>he spends 50 bucks changing oil at a shop.
I'm laughing at you right now retard.
I got a pc from ibuypower, though, they do let you choose the parts that go into it so idk if that counts. Anyway, lasted me 8 years till I finally worked up the courage to start slotting in upgrades myself
On the second desktop my family ever bought i distinctly remember buying some prebuilt Sony VAIO at Circuit City and then randomly taking an ATi graphics card that cost maybe 200 or 300 dollars to put into it. I'm surprised i knew to put it into the AGP slot.
I was like 12 and i guess the sales rep sold me and my parents?
My mechanic charges $20 for oil change and check over, don't go to a big chain.
>Even the shittiest PC port runs better than the "native" console version
you've never seen a shitty PC port then
>Plus 90% of games nowadays are shooters
you're retarded and have shit taste
>first person shit
get better taste please.
What's wrong with them?
Damn it sucks being so much better than anyone else because I have some basic intuition.
You can't read retard.
Point still stands. I could put that money literally anywhere else and have it be more worthwhile than paying someone to change the oil in my car.
>gta 4
>runs at 1080p 30fps no matter the system
>original ran at 720p 30fps
Can you give some examples of genuinely shit ports then?
No matter what I would've posted you would've called it shit.
everything. you can find videos that point out where he fucked up. here is one
Lurk Pcpartpicker and read builds until you get it.
Is that image a joke or is ligma lethal?
>windowed case
>gta 4
>runs at 1080p 30fps no matter the system
That's false, I know first hand.
>Can you give some examples of genuinely shit ports then?
Most gen 6/7 games
Maybe not at launch but that's the benefit of PC, if a game runs like shit you have the option to upgrade.
Can you give specific examples?
brain dead game play that at its peak is point & click. Why limit yourself to such a mediocre genre that only has a single digit quantity of good games? Especially with so many outright bad ones like Blood 2, Hexen 2, shogo, redneck rampage, shadow warrior, nam, Marathon, why play such utter trash? Because they're "classic" PC games? It doesn't take a genius to figure out they're janky, poorly made and poorly designed games meant to appeal to the simpleton who is still thrilled by lining up a cursor with a guy and clicking. You're meant to grow out of that stuff. What's the appeal of the genre? Is there anything at all?
Name 5 games made this generation where the console version runs better.
what exactly did that guy do wrong again to be dissed so hard by e-celebs desperate to make content by hopping on the bandwagon to shit on him for gaymer brownie points and retards like you? computer seems fine because it's totally functional.
i'm pretty sure ton of you smooth brains couldn't POST or had bent pins on the cpu socket or had some other mishap when you built your first PCs (and probably still fuck up).
Seriously, the only argument against this guy and his building skills is stupid shit, like the fact he didn't set his motherboard up before inserting it or incorrectly used a few terms, which is literally not a big deal.
the guy who shot up the mosque in new zealand
simpsons hit & run, panzer dragoon, spider-man 2
isn't there like no space to work with
how did you do it
the problem is he is a complete novice trying to give advice, obviously
have a (you) bud
bloodborne, ni-oh, tetris effect, tetris 99, nier automata. Imagine playing 8th gen multiplats. Especially on the platform where developers just figure "hurr durr your $800 video card should play it just fine" and forget to optimize anything.
Saints Row 2
Deus Ex Invisible War
Project Snowblind
Any port that doesn't even bother with adding some PC options in menus
When pc gamers say "shit port" they're not complaining because it's worse than the console version, they're complaining because it's only slightly better than the console version.
Hugh Jackman in the eighties was wild
ahahahahahaHAHAHAHAH OH NONONONONO
i bet you drive some disposable import shitbox that your parents bought for you and go to walmart to have the cheapest garbage available dumped into it every "whenever I feel like it XD" miles. god damn dude, working on your car is one of the most basic parts of being a man. i don't expect you to do tranny rebuilds in your yard (but I do encourage you to, good learning experience) but at least learn to fucking maintain your shit. jfc dude it's ONE bolt and then one filter on most cars, are you too retarded to spin a bolt counterclockwise?
>but its so cheap now theres no reason to do it yourself-
5qt mobil 1 full syn at wally world will run you $23 and a napa gold/wix filter will run you $5 or a fram ultra around $8. find me an oil change place that will give you GOOD full synthetic oil (read: Mobil, Valv, Royal Purple, Amsoil, NOT quaker state) and a good filter for less than $40. i have 265,000 miles on my vehicle and I sure as hell didn't get it there with fucking 9000 mile walmart oil changes.
ask your mechanic what he's dumping in your car during an oil change and ask him if he's changing the filter as well
if you do an oil change without a filter change you are the dumbest gorilla nigger retard to ever walk the face of this earth and are going to be scratching your head when you send a piston through the roof of your valve body. also do yourself a favor and pull your valve covers sometime; see all that black sludge? that is what you get for using shit oil and it is all the fuck over your timing chain case right now. you know what happens when that breaks? u fucc'd bicc boi. even if you drive a non-interference engine I don't believe for a second you know how to reset the timing on an engine
You listed 3 exclusives and showed no proof for the other 2 games that are actually multiplat.
Any PC port with DRM and no physical copy is immediately the worst version of the game.
>i'm pretty sure ton of you smooth brains couldn't POST or had bent pins on the cpu socket or had some other mishap when you built your first PCs
They also didn't try to teach others how to do it the first time they ever did it.
no when pc players say shit port they mean bad UI few custom graphic settings and bad controls and keys still saying controller ones
Summers already here?
>t-the way it's meant to be played bros
>framerate drops in fucking video cutscenes
I'm lazy and I just don't care about graphics that much. I just go to graphics and set everything to "High", everything seems fine to me.
So what's stopping you from downloading a crack for the drm?
Optiplex 790
W7Pro COA
12GB RAM
$25
It was on a pawn shop clearance table, the i5-2400 itself was worth $75, add a real GPU and SSD and now it's my daily driver.
And the case doesn't look like shit either
Should i buy the RGB RAM with 20 bucks more or just the ordinary RAM?
This is really a hard decision for me.
what are we all yelling at each other for in this thread?
So in what way are the console versions better?
>What's the appeal of the genre?
Fast paced action and level exploration
>brain dead game play that at its peak is point & click
Some games may be easier than the others, but they're not all brain dead as you call them
I didn't buy a prebuilt PC, but I did pay a computer store 70 dollars to assemble the components I picked and install everything because I'm a lazy fuck who doesn't want to accidentally fuck something up with my clumsy-ass hands and snap something valuable by accident.
Also it's just 70 bucks and they even gave me a 2 year warranty on the whole system in case their tech accidentally broke or damaged something when he was assembling it.
If you're going to do up the rest of your case, the RGB ram is a nice choice, but otherwise just get the normal one
They're fun, have always been the genre where a lot of graphical innovations shown up, usually have some good music and allows for a lot of variation in the design of the levels.
>shadow warrior
>hexen 2
>bad
Good thing you can emulate the better versions on PC then. From what I remember hit and run was functionally broken on PC.
>consoles
>not DRM
When I built my first PC like 5 years ago nothing went wrong. I don't get why some of you guys are so bad at building what is essentially lego.
better than 720p with framerate drops in gameplay. Also isn't there a patch or a mod that fixes it?
based. I bought a similar model for my parents.
So again, only marginally better than the console version?
holy shit please go back to twitter and never come here again you fucking faggot
who said they were? they were just made with consoles in mind first. they rarely look better or anything. sometimes they will run better but usually that gets patched away
Ok but I asked for proof that the console version runs better.
What makes you think I don't pirate PC games? There's nothing worth supporting there. I want developers to see their games pirated more than sold so the market direction is impacted.
How badly do you want to show off your pride, faggot
Its a joke in a joke.
warranty is from India 100%, they don't speak good English, they don't know shit beyond their scripts, and finally you simply can't trust the warranty as it has to go through the pajeets in charge first, and they don't know shit and they don't give a fuck so your warranty is worthless
also you'll probably need the warranty that will ultimately be worthless
also dell always 100% of the time wants to connect to your desktop where they will fuck shit up because it's not their computer and they're idiots, plus privacy concerns that you're giving away to some pajeet in india
his name was brenton tarrant
>Fast paced action and level exploration
there's better games and genres for both of those
> they're not all brain dead as you call them
What's your counter example? Thief? alt+w and click to win. One more key up in terms of complexity. This time with really tedious levels to go along with it.
>have always been the genre where a lot of graphical innovations shown up
Only if you're not paying attention.
>usually have some good music
maybe halo and doom, that's it
>allows for a lot of variation in the design of the levels.
point & click doesn't allow for variation in level design
>emulate
Emutrannies have arrived to shill their HRT, patreon and """preservation""" with a heaping order of input lag and inaccuracies. Emulation is always inferior.
>>consoles
>>not DRM
>lungs
>not DRM
>better than 720p with framerate drops in gameplay
still stuck in the 7th gen? DRM is always a loss. Enjoy your denuvo.
>Also isn't there a patch or a mod that fixes it?
works 50% of the time
you got it
Man I wish I could afford a good PC. There's a ton of games I want to play but I'm stuck with my laptop.
good news is there's actually not and you can play basically any PC game worth your time. Have fun with Doom and Quake.
You know they started sending copyright strikes against anyone who laughed at them? Bunch of faggots the verge are.
>the problem is he is a complete novice trying to give advice
Are you sure it's not a bunch of pasty white nerds milking this one particular instance of this guy's benign incompetence when it comes to something that's slightly technically involved like building a PC as an opportunity to feel more intelligent and superior over a clean cut, handsome young black man who can actually get laid?
>have a (you) bud
And here's your (you),
You were obviously so triggered by your inability to refute my post but you still had to respond out of disgruntlement. Cope harder.
>They also didn't try to teach others how to do it the first time they ever did it.
>Yea Forums
>not an overwhelmingly source of shit advice and opinion on a daily basis, especially when it comes to computer hardware
Are you new?
I have a local pc store that has their own brand of pre builts. It was actually cheaper than building your own due to the price of graphics cards a few years ago, and they guys all build them there in the shop.
That's the only way I've ever seen it done good, they make all their money on the warranties because their shit is actually put together well.
Kek fpbp
BB is PS4 exclusive. no major issues doing 1080/60 at max settings on 5 year old hardware with nioh or nier(used FAR patch back in the day, idk if its still needed). idc about tetris.
I already played those games dozens of times, I want to play new games for once
Your favorite game just revolves around pressing buttons in the correct order as well you faggot. Also if you can't give credit to the Doom modding scene and the amazing things that have come out of it in terms of gameplay and level design you should gas yourself.
>bringing up trannies
okay schizo.
On consoles you can't
>back up your games
>copy your games
>play games not licensed by sony / ms
>program your own games
consoles are inherently worse than PC in terms of DRM. At least on PC I have the option of cracking the game myself.
>50%
so the game still runs better than a console?
It's honestly sad that the original doom and quake games haven't been ported. Would be cool if Doom Eternal had them as an unlockable or something.
Building a PC is not technical in the slightest. Here's a (you)
don't feed the trolls everyone knows thats Josh's job as he is king of the feeders
I always love this image.
>$1000 worth of gold foil
>OY VEY!
They could sell to retards and still put good GPUs in the builds.
>When I built my first PC like 5 years ago nothing went wrong. I don't get why some of you guys are so bad at building what is essentially lego.
>so bad at building what is essentially lego.
Of course it's easy to build a PC when you forego shit like cable management, liquid cooling systems, fan controllers, expansion cards, SLI, etc. Have you ever seen the typical Yea Forums battlestation thread? Minus the stolen pics, almost every single rig featured is basic as fuck. In fact, you get actively shitted on if your PC is chock full of RGB and required actual skill to build.
Also knows as Josh, the owner of KiwiFarms and the man behind the MundaneMatt youtube channel
>Friend wants to build an OK PC.
>Just capable of paying anything he wants on medium to high as well as editing 1080p video.
>Tell him it would cost $600-$700
>Japanese friend of his tells him it would be $300-$400
>wut
Is there something I don't know? Only built my PC after doing a lot of research. Japanese guy I think meant from scratch too and not just sticking an amd card in a used one, but I'm not sure. The guy does run a PC building business, so I suspect he might be trying to rip my friend off.
what's wrong with your youtubes user
>BB is PS4 exclusive
>PSnow doesn't count now
make up your mind
>idc about tetris.
why do PC gamers have such shit taste?

notice how he provides no reasoning or evidence. Let me guess "it's just an x86 PC! I should be able to run windows on it!" the genesis isn't a sharp x68000 or Amiga despite using the same CPU. You don't know shit about computers (not shocking for a PC gamer.)
You're either a shill, a propagandized idiot, or just a plain old retard.
I bought my system as a premade, because i found the exact configuration I was looking to build, and it was 80 bucks cheaper overall.
>swtor was 30 years ago

I hate this meme, is not even funny, suicide please
>Building a PC is not technical in the slightest.
I bet you also think you can just download more RAM, don't you?
PC gaming is for kids so it fits.
must be some meme i'm not aware of. the kiwifarms owner was posting in defense of tarrant while he was in custody.

>buying a shit modern console to play shit modern games

most battlestations are basic as fuck because the process is so streamlined nowadays. You don't need another 15 isa or PCI cards to have a functioning PC anymore. You can feel bad about some retard fucking his pc up when he tried to water cool, but you can't at all when you see some actual retard fuck up a standard PC build.

confirmed for never playing any kind of Doom mod. Look up Hideous Destructor or High Noon Drifter. Also there's like one decent porn mod.
>notice how he provides no reasoning or evidence. Let me guess "it's just an x86 PC! I should be able to run windows on it!" the genesis isn't a sharp x68000 or Amiga despite using the same CPU.
Don't know what this has to do with anything. Disregarding platform arguments console manufacturers deliberately make it hard for the average person to program and make stuff for. The fact that "homebrew" is called homebrew instead of a standard game or application proves this.
>you're a shill
rich coming from a console fag.
It's literally plugging things into other things that have a similar shape. Unironically no different than pic rel.
I love how terabyte is all caps like it's fucking amazing.
Why does this dog look like a rapist?
>As well you should be. Only children find that dumb shit appealing
imagine unironically micromanaging what's defined as childlike in something as childish as playing video game culture. Besides, a child can neither afford or build pic-related.
Also,
>pretty rainbow lights are childish!
Jesus Christ incel, you must be fun at parties.
>Also there's like one decent porn mod.
there's none. hdoom is also shit. Is all your taste this shit?
>Disregarding platform arguments console manufacturers deliberately make it hard for the average person to program and make stuff for
that's what PCs are for
>The fact that "homebrew" is called homebrew instead of a standard game or application proves this.
because it's made without license and dedicated hardware for work on the machine. Imagine reaching this desperately.
>rich coming from a console fag.
I'm merely promoting ownership to others, it's important to actually own your games which is physically impossible on PC. When they remove ownership, your agency is gone entirely.
>Unironically no different than pic rel.
PC gaming is for kids after all
he is, he's asian after all, they're honorary jews. Just the PSU, mobo and CPU would be above $400
But then you can't upsell a new GPU also they are much less likely to come back for upgrades and repairs when their shit starts to seem "slow"

Also, PCS CAN EMULATE OLD CONSOLES. WOW. WHAT A CONCEPT.

I mostly play older games, replaying the same game endlessly gets boring, except maybe for tetris and puyo puyo.
>PCS CAN EMULATE OLD CONSOLES
with: added input lag, inaccuracies, stretched 2D assets, fuck ugly filters, and the wrong controllers.
I'll stick to real hardware.
I bought a pre-built, but not a 'gayman' PC, but midrange capable of running modern vidya on normal settings. I don't really give a fuck about graphics as long as it werks™ and don't mind overpaying a 100$ to spare myself the treasure hunt for parts and building the damn thing which I'll probably fuck up anyway.

The hallmark of our modern existence is based around being able to pay someone else for goods and services rather than doing it yourself.
You genuinely have to be retarded to fuck up growing your own food too but I bet you still go to a supermarket.
Hey, man. I still game on my 280 euro prebuilt machine i bought 6 years ago. It can still run some modern shit.
No, i'm not poor fuck you
You are literally only paying 8 bucks for service.
>TERABYTE
It's honestly crazy how much money you can siphon from retards who don't know anything about computers, and don't want to do the slightest research into them before buying one for gaming
I don't think i've ever seen elitism over fucking gardening lmao
Maybe the fucker lives in a goddamn apartment, did you think of that? numbnuts
When I said decent porn mod I meant something that wasn't a million pictures of tits in a boring maze map. At least some semblance of effort went into it.
>owning games
You can buy a game, apply a crack to it and own it forever. Or you can just pirate it. Don't see the point in arguing over that. DRM pisses me off too.
>PC gaming is for kids after all
way to misconstrue the point. I'm saying that PCs are so fucking easy to build nowadays that buying a prebuilt out of fear means you're too retarded to solve the toy.
There's plenty of mods. I've been playing Doom on and off for the last 7 to 8 or so years. That's just a matter of opinion of what you get bored of.
Emulation is better than nothing in all reality.
Tending to chickens and growing vegetables takes longer than a 30 minutes of your spare time. It's not that I can't do it, it's that to reap the rewards I'd have to wait months. Also it's a matter of space. I can't keep chickens in my apartment nor have enough space to grow veggies on my 3 x 2 balcony. I can change the oil once every year in the parking lot.
Again, 8 bucks I could spend elsewhere.
It wasn't elitism over gardening you fucking negroid. If you actually read the reply chain rather than reaction post like a faggot, you'd see it was an example of them contradicting their "just do it yourself" logic.
>mfw friend gives you $1000 to build him a PC and you build him a $1300 one at no extra charge
>tuck shit behind the motherboard and use zip ties when appropriate
>just tuck shit behind the motherboard
Enjoy being a shitter with absolutely no pride in how they install hundreds, if not thousands of dollars worth of equipment. But odds are you're just incompetent at building if you "jam cables behind the motherboard".
>"bend some pipe and put a dangerous amount of water right next to running electronics"
imagine not knowing how to test you loop in isolation, or simply ensuring your tubing ("pipe" lol) is correctly connected to fittings
>"for a 1 celsius gain"
Imagine being this ignorant and unaware about the profoundly better overclocks and benchmarks of high end hardware cooled on water. Yet, here you are, giving advice and your "insight".
>inevitably leaks
not if you know what you're doing and not a retard.
>plug them into the motherboard, read the manuals, install drivers
>it's as simple as that user!
Where is this perfect world you live in where instructions are always clear or covers everything and hardware just flawlessly works out of the box as intended without any amount of troubleshooting needed ever?
i'm not reading even more of your stupid shit. I just wanted to tell you that you're a fuckin moron
have a nice day, faggot
>I game primarily on Linux
Exactly, you don't keep livestock/grow crops because it's inconvenient and you don't have to means to do it.
He doesn't get his oil changed because it's more convenient to get it done by a mechanic when he gets the car serviced anyway.
The guy before him gets someone else to put together his PC for the same reason.
>At least some semblance of effort went into it.
wasted effort
>apply a crack to it and own it forever
no physical copy, ethereal data on a disk is irrelevant.
>buying a game just to crack it

>Emulation is better than nothing in all reality.
I don't settle for inferior experiences
>order parts from a website
>pay $50 extra for them to built it
and why is this bad again?
$8 more for "service" with whatever generic non-synth blend and paper filter they get in bulk for the lowest cost vs good shit that lasts twice as long.
the places in my area that do proper oil changes are like $75+. I can have it done myself in the time it takes to just drive to a garage.
biggest bad faith reach ive seen in a long time
You said 3 meals. 8 bucks is like what a burger at a local place?
Okay, you're obviously this guy they're talking about.
>me dumb dumb no read good but you dumb dumb more! me no longer talk at you despite responding!
Sorry you have to exist, big fella
Shitposter and famous wow player
>Foxconn
That is how it feels seeing these threads. Just some random schizophrenic guy talking to himself for hours, then he gets really upset and has to make a thread of this random thought he was having, since he has no friends to vent to. Does anyone else feel this way too, a lot of threads follow this format.
Except the faggot who does it 8 hours away might throw that shit around and apply thermal paste in the worst way possible because he doesn't give a fuck
>generic non-synth blend
You are charged the oil you choose per package.
>paper filter
You change your oil every 4 months or so either way. Unless you think once a year is acceptable.
I'm posting on the same PC I built 5 years ago and it runs just fine. Runs decently cool and doesn't have any gaudy windows so who gives a fuck what it looks like. It's more of a matter of effort than a matter of skill.
building a PC and changing the oil in your car about both 30 minute to an hour long ordeals. It's really not comparable to tending to chickens and growing your own food.
>ethereal data on a disk
As opposed to a CD.
>get offended more
>I can't read so If you tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about that's a some illogical fallacy or something
>probably because you have nothing else
Or because Doom is a really fun game that has more staying power than anything on console.
>I don't settle for inferior experiences
same. That's why I play on PC.
I could get 3 good meals with the 50 bucks it costs to get oil changed at the mechanics around me but people claim they can get oil changes for a nickle so of course I'm wrong.
There are famous wow players?
>As opposed to a CD.
yeah, the CD retains value and comes with a license for ownership.
>Or because Doom is a really fun game that has more staying power than anything on console.
doom is on consoles, and you're easily entertained by doing the same thing endlessly.
>That's why I play on PC.
settling with an inferior experience for the sake of convenience. Don't worry, tons of people do it. You're in the majority there. If you want something better you're welcome to ask for solutions.
30 bucks here. Oil costs around 20 bucks and filter around 4.
projecting too much pal
I never got this. There are far more PC people yet they think they are niche or something.
>all these upset brainlets
They aren't niche, PC is a very mainstream platform. People mostly play a handful of games on it. 15 years ago it would have been counter-strike or runescape or wow or something. Today its fortnite and minecraft. Most PC gamers only play a few games.
Genuine question, not that it matters as nobody there has a PC... but if you live in a permafrost zone, be it the tip of Argentina or northren siberia; do you need a fan or will a tube to the outdoors work fine? Radiator style, intake next to it, chimney as hot air goes up. Permafrost means ''never above 0'' afterall.
shut the fuck up you stupid fucking cunt, as IF your pathetic ass has ever been invited to a party yourself you retard.
Just like you're doing now?
When I think of Pre-built, I think of picking your own parts and then paying someone a few quid to put it together. I didn't even know you could still get "Pre-built" computers like
Surely seeing anything tech-wise that costs over just £200 would compel you to deep dive into the specs? I can't even imagine just throwing over a grand away just because of a phonecall to a shop
bouga
Right. PC gamers don't play games. They buy shit from steam religiously, call it backlog and never actually play em while they shitpost online.
A very common occurrence, I think it says a lot more about the contradiction of freedom however. Freedom is ironically one of the things PC gamers like to parrot as a feature of their platform, humans don't really desire freedom however, they desire purpose.
Back in 2010 a terabyte was pretty much high end
Humans are just lonely user. Everything else is some excuse you tell yourself.
Well he is in method so he sort of is
>I'm posting on the same PC I built 5 years ago and it runs just fine.
So you obviously exist at the lowest functioning-tier of the types of PC builders. As far as enthusiasts and high-end builders go, your advice is laughable. You seemingly don't even upgrade nonetheless build computers that often. How much weight does your anecdotal experiences actually hold?
It's like a cunny pre-pumped with semen.
>Everything else is some excuse you tell yourself.
And? To find meaning and purpose is the ultimate goal of life. Perhaps it's why PC gamers are often on hormones & depressed.
I got this a few years ago off Craig's List for 800$
>implying he maintains anything and isn't just a lazy shit that can barely put together a stream every week

So some genuine fool's gold?
>doom is on consoles
Not the fun Doom. Also playing Doom with a controller isn't fun in the slightest.
>easily entertained by doing the same thing endlessly
You seem to be too. How many times do you post your schizophrenic rants about DRM like there's no alternative that people have been saying for years.
>settling with an inferior experience for the sake of convenience
What convenience are you talking about? The fact I have the freedom to modify games as I please? The freedom to pirate games as much as I want? What's so bad about the convenience of a more free platform?
But the prebuilt PCs you buy aren't high end meme builds. They're typically basic bitch builds with off the shelf parts. People saying they're too scared to build a PC when the one they're trying to replicate was made by some starving asian kid for a nickel without any problems is just silly.
Have sex with an incel

the difference between buying games physically vs buying games digitally, true ownership
>Not the fun Doom. Also playing Doom with a controller isn't fun in the slightest.
imagine hating dooms base game play so much you need to play with rick roll and brutal doom to enjoy it while pleasuring yourself to ugly hdoom animations because the fun is completely sucked out of the game you require outside stimuli.
>How many times do you post your schizophrenic rants about DRM like there's no alternative that people have been saying for years.
How many times?
>The fact I have the freedom to modify games as I please?
99% of the time mods are a worse experience
>The freedom to pirate games as much as I want
I do too. Quit lying any time.
>What's so bad about the convenience
convenience doesn't make it better.
>a more free platform
locked down by DRM and rentals. Reeks of freedom. Hey at least you can get shitty games for free, there's always that.
Did you just assume my dimensionality?
>Buy cheap ass 3rd gen i7 used office pc

>reduced to 2 meals a day

not a single doubt in my mind you're one of these people
PC gamers need to lie to make a point. If he realizes there's been doom mods on consoles for decades he'll have to go back to the drawing board and pull out another pre-canned response until he eventually implodes. His entire argument is built on buzzwords and marketing lingo.
Not that I expect anyone to believe me, but my current iBuypower cost less, total, than the sum of all the constituent parts on PCpartpicker.
>build my own pc
>fuck up one little thing
>motherboard gets fried
No, prebuilts are made to take advantage of people who don't know how to build PC's and charge them massive amounts of money for shit components.
Sometimes you can pick up a prebuilt at a good price on sale, but you need to know what your looking for.
My current PC is a prebuilt I got when GPU prices where massively inflated by miners buying all the stock as buying a prebuilt worked out cheaper than buying a GPU at the time.
I had to replace the Powersupply(wasn't even bronze rated, and had no branding) and RAM(Only had 4GB) to make a decent PC out of it though.
Even then wouldn't have been worth the money if I didn't already have a spare 32GB of RAM lying about.
>building a pc requires the same intelligence as putting together a fucking lego set
nigga why you lyin'?
>attempting to offend people on anonymous vietnamese porn board with their assumed wealth

projecting pretty fucking hard there poorfag
samefag
i bought a pre-built lenovo back in 2012 but to be fair i was a dumb teen back then. its the same computer i use today albeit slightly modified with a blu ray drive and elgato capture card.
>touch the side of your case before working and don't do it on fucking carpet
>never had a single problem
Or buy a bracelet if you're that retarded. If you somehow fry your motherboard you've done something seriously wrong.
I'm well aware of Doom mods on consoles but it's mostly restricted to maps. The meme with Doom is that everything runs it is 100% true, I'm just staying that to use a modern port like GZDoom and have the best experience (playing with a mouse and keyboard) then PC is the only way to go.
>PC gamers need to lie
Console gamers need to delude themselves into thinking that PC exclusive games are shit (despite the mass amount of praise and the fact that a lot of PC only games make their way to consoles, see Minecraft) and that their systems are technically superior even years after the fact.
H-how did I do?
>actually getting upset over it
that why you wear anti-static wristbands
building on carpet is fine if you touch the case and/or use a bracelet
Try joining Islam.
Yeah. A Lego set is harder to build.
I've been working on a HP EliteDesk upgrade myself. I upgraded the CPU from.an A6 to an A8-7600, and put in an R7 240. Was thinking about getting a RX 560, but they average around $150 at the moment, which is more than what I paid for the box.
It's a fun experience, even if it's not an optimal build.
>everyone who buys when its cheap is a poorfag
i just assessed you
you're the one projecting
>PC exclusive games
PC has exclusive games?
Buying used PC parts is the absolute worst.
40 years and nothing good to show for it. I can relate to PC!
sorry man i know im supposed to go a little slow with people of your...affliction
Pretty good build 5 years ago.
Not that what he did was awful, but the part that makes this hilarious is the high production values showing a novice make stupid novice mistakes. I'm seriously dying.
Shittiest excuse of a thread. Man, why do we even have jannies?
GPU is outdated, but the other specs are perfectly fine and will only require that GPU to be updated instead of the whole system whenever it doesn't serve your purposes anymore.
yeah we need more wojaks
I play on a gaming laptop and it works perfectly. In the start I was worried about the heat but it's never been an issue.
>HP Omen 17, gtx 1070, more than good enough for everything

It's one of the better threads up right now. Stop being a whiney faggot.
8gb ram in 2019
Funny thing, it IS 5 years old.
What would you recommend for 1150 socket today?
to con idiots who don't know any better
look at the frequency too
it's 2,666MHZ
No, fuck, you said GPU, never mind.
Any recommendations for one?
>which is more than what I paid for the box
The box is just a vessel for the GPU. You must resist the impulse to be cheap. But for what it's worth, the first card I put in that Optiplex was one of these little fuckers, and it actually worked much better than I expected, but then I found a SFF Optiplex for a portable gayman box and put it in that instead. Fanless, bay bee!
If you're still around this is maintained by /g/ and is super simple:

I bought a used powerspec g428 for less than 1k.
Even though it's an outdated chipset, I don't plan on building a new PC for multiple years, so I think it was worth it.
i literally said building a pc is is easy and compared it to legos you dumb nigger
I got mine from a local store, they balanced out everything and didn't cheaped out with the motherboard and PSU.
The only difference if I picked up the parts vs bulding it myself was the waiting time to get it and like 10€.
sorry if that sounded a bit harsh,
read it in a soft and friendly voice
Depends on your budget and what you play. I have a 1080ti, but I also have a lot of expendable cash and can barely focus on a game if I'm not getting at least 60-80 fps.
970 is still fine for 1080p60fps at high-ish settings.
4690k is fine if you OC it and aren't getting stutters due to 4 threads. I might be getting some with my 7600k but I don't notice them.
The low-end nvidia cards have some amazing value if you don't plan on playing super modern shit and are content with medium settings.
1030, 1050 and 1050TI have some pretty great performance for their price.
I have a 1080 Ti and the last video game I ever played besides OSRS was Doki Doki Literature Club

~1400 euros. Good or bad deal?
Stay away from prebuilts made by larger companies, instead go for smaller websites and local shops. They often tend to offer assembly for a fair price
I literally googled "how to build a PC" on the day my parts arrived, and 4 hours later the PC was up and running.
the most complicated part of my first build was cable management, and even that was easy to figure out
This post STINKS
I'm not buying a PC to look at the fucking case, so something like pcpartpicker.com
You'll spend far more time looking at the cute anime girl or w/e on your desktop wallpaper anyway

Great deal.
I'm just fucking waiting for him to go full Habberman and delete the entire website again in troll's remorse.
It's bound to happen when one goes so far right.
ooh someone's upset they can't build a PC
this is actually nice looking
If you're fucking 13, maybe.
>hurrr for retards hurr
so consoles basically.
Look, I built my own PC, but prebuilt isnt a terrible option for people that want something okay, have the extra money, but don't have the time or technical now how. Yes, prebuilt pc's tend to be crafted using overstock and and semi obsolete parts and the unsellable bulk pieces so the building company can turn a profit off of mass produced hardware that was going no where anyways. Big fucking deal. Still better than consoles.
>tfw still i5 4690.
Should I go team Red with Ryzen 2?
>but don't have the time
This is the shittest excuse.
>Battlefield 3 case
What the fuck does literally any of this have to do with Battlefield 3?
There's literally zero connection between the two.
>technical now how
watch 2-3 youtube videos
there now you know enough
I still get mad when I see "improved airflow" in that dumb video.
are you poor? amd is ok if you need to watch your finances, otherwise i'd grab a 9900k
It does.
>Not taking the all-in-one pill

Thoughts on thermaltake.com.au
I feel like lately all the prebuilts I see come with a mid-high end gpu and minuscule amounts of ram and hd space
This bait is too strong! Have another (you)
If you need to upgrade, you'll be good for a trillion years with a 3700x/3800x. If you don't feel like you need the upgrade, don't do it yet.
overpriced trash for retards who like to jerk off to their rig's guts
Those "professionals" are literally just taking your money. It's like saying the kid that works at Subway is a professional sandwich technician.
Pretty much what I did.
Built my first pc friday, from case to mobo to cpu and gpu installation. Very happy so far.
1- get a case with good airflow. I got a rosewill with 4 built-in fans, its great.
2- cable management sucks.
3- hardest part was moving data over and that was more time consuming than anything else
like legos
Holy fuck that was a lot of thermal paste. Definitely going to leak out onto the mobo
>rosewill
oof
Which PC games do you recommend for someone who hates Steam, hates Valve and hates the stupid Gabe Newell?

Cute butt
Yes.
I also always disable dumb shit like AO so it also save a fuckload of ressources, how's that, you dadblaster
You'd be surprised how fun minesweeper is.
My PC is actually just a PC that I some times play games on.
I can't imagine getting mad about how other people choose to play vidya.
Please commit suicide.
I can never make it past the PSU part.
>always build on a carpet
>never use a static meme band or "discharge" myself

Did this my first time. Later down the line I built a cheap ass computer for my sister. Then used that knowledge to maintain my PC.
rosewill makes some decent stuff for the price. depends on the item in question though. never get a rosewill PSU.
AWOOOO
"""Upgrading""" is the biggest fucking meme parroted by literal 14 year olds.
The biggest fucking scam is sites like DigitalFoundry who will put on some artificial bullshit setting that literally does absolutely nothing other than halving your FPS.
>Hmm, this card is pretty great, but if we edit the "ultra" settings preset and put on the extra 16x anisotropic filtering, the game might dips below 60 fps at certain parts.
For a group of people that jerk themselves over being knowledable about hardware, the majority of PCfags are the biggest fucking retards you can ever see on the internet.
I have a 2 year old 1060 6GB and I can play literally every game in high setting in 1440p 60 fps.

I got this for about $800, minus the monitors and one of the 2TB HD.
whoops, forgot pic.
>believing what leaks say
kek
For you, zoomer.
What do you people mean by pre built? I bought a pre built PC but I picked the parts and they were about the same price as if I bought them separatedly and I didnt have to bother putting the whole thing together.
9900k is already out performed by the 9700k in a lot of vidya. The 9900k is legitimately shit for vidya and extremely overpriced. You're retarded.
hi null
Some of us are poorfag. I have to heat up my power supply with a hair dryer to get my shit running. Life is not so bad
Yes upgrading every year is not smart but you do need to upgrade from time to time no matter what you "think". My last pc was a radeon HD 4870 with an old ass cpu that I can't even remember the name of that I built in 2009, I couldn't play anything on it anymore and it was freezing and crashing all the time. Now I have an I5 8400 and a rx 580 and I can play games again.
>out performed by the 9700k in a lot of vidya
which ones?
nvm I misread your post
Look it up, nigger. It's been established to be an overpriced turd months ago.
Here is some spoon-feeding. The rest is up to you.
gamersnexus.net
I love how butthurt people get over this.
Oh boy it's another episode of Yea Forums tards don't know shit.
A lot prebuilts are overpriced even considering you get warranty and its assembled for you, back during the mining craze prebuilts were okay value and there are some prebuilts even nowadays that are good. Nothing wrong with buying a prebuilt, I bought one in 2014 because I wanted to play TF2 on PC after playing it on console for a while. Didn't know jack shit about building a PC and didn't really have the means of looking up guides or ordering shit either, only had my XBox's web browser. Since then upgraded from an i5 4460, 730 DDR3, 8GB ram to a Xeon 1230 v3, 1060 6GB, 12GB ram and all SSD. 12GB ram running in 2/3 dual channel is enough for my means, no game I want to play uses more than 10.5GB system ram in total and that's with a 1GB ramdisk.
Falcon NW is pretty good. Their markups aren't excessive, and their service and warranty are great. They even put a warranty on overclocking.
You're autistic.
Obviously im not talking about people like you user. Your GPU is perfect for 99% of the games in 1440p, even in 4k if you willing to adjust to settings to medium. But you just kind of proved my point, your GPU competes with the GTX 1060, which is a 3 year old GPU.
There are retards in this thread talking about how it is outdated and not even enough for 1080p and all that.
The truth is a lot of PC gamers are actually more clueless than console gamers, they just put every setting to the absolute top and dont even research what they buy
>Ignorance is bliss
sauce
>PC users are autistic/OCD about their rigs
Of course they are, that's why hardware manufacturers make so much money. They got them on that consumer treadmill. The moment they feel like they're getting an inferior experience, no matter how minor, to someone else it rustles their autism to the point where they feel they need to upgrade.
Just don't be a dumbass and buy a power supply that lets you remove extra PSU cables. Mine looks like absolute shit, but it's 850w and works well so I can't bring myself to throw it out.
get out normie nigger
For a neet maybe.
>tfw phenom build still running after a goddamn decade and still being relevant
I'm running out of reasons to ever give a fuck about anything intel.
Probably cause sometimes HT, especially when it's with a high core count CPU, performs worse? It's common knowledge that HT can cause worse performance in certain situations, I always have it on cause I don't have a high end system to begin with and won't notice any big difference with my setup. I also need HT for 1-2 games.
Unless building PCs is an actual hobby for you, or you don't value your time at all, there is no reason to do it yourself.
Every pre built ive looked at had shitty cheapo specs except for the processor.
Some of them didnt even have a graphics card included.
>don't buy a modular PSU
You're retarded. They are like $10 more and completely worth it to not have a mass of unused cables bunched up somewhere collecting dust.
You're autistic, good luck running actual games with an 8 y/o 2400, a ton of games struggled with 4c8t years ago, get the fuck out with your i5 from 2012 with 4c4t.
Also AF doesn't do jackshit to performance except in very specific game, like your example picture actually, Tomb Raider. It's because of how foliage is rendered in that game, otherwise AF even at 16x doesn't impact performance at all.
Building it yourself will take 1 afternoon and you can save anywhere from 200 to like 800 bucks, depending on what the specs are. Especially high end "GAYMEN" PCs are overpriced by sometimes up to a grand almost. If you have the means to order parts online and to watch a YouTube video, you can build a PC.
Just ordered this absolute UNIT for $3599 I’m pretty hype lads
>saving money isn't worth it
>being able to pick exactly what components you want from any manufacturer isn't worth it
Imagine being this retarded that you can't spend 1 hour assembling your superior to prebuilt PC?
>850w
>probably using like 280w with some older i7 and a 1060
Based retard.
You could've built that yourself for way less, maybe 10 pennies and shoe string, yet you chose to give the Jews nearly 4 grand.
>I literally show you a video with actual NUMBERS
>hur dur you are autistic
youtube.com
The one and only difference is at ONE(1) game and ONLY between the 7400 and 8400. For the rest, the difference is literally below 10% between a 7 year old CPU and the newest. Even in Battlefield V.
Just admit you are a retard with OCD who need to have the highest number product even the difference is literally less than 5%
not the other guy but
>cpu bench
>gpu bottleneck
Thats only for the physical assembly. You also have to research the parts to make sure everything is compatible, and deal with inevitable small issues that will crop up. Your shipping costs will be higher because its lots of small items instead of one big one, which will have the same packing dimensions as the case by itself. And if you fuck up and something doesn't work, its out of your pocket to fix it. Paying an extra 200 (which is about what I paid on top of standard newegg prices for a Falcon NW high end gaming rig) to not have to deal with any of that, and know that I can just send it back to be fixed if anything wears out even with the overclock for three years is far more than worth it.
If dealing with all that stuff sounds like fun to you, then by all means go for it. But if you have anything at all better to do then you are not saving jack.
>GPU is the bottle neck
lol. The newest CPU is at like 40% load vs 98% load.
When I was a kid we walked into the local hardware store and asked the guy what to pick part by part. The put it together in two hours for 5 bucks and even left a pirated copy of Windows on it.
does picking the parts yourself and telling the store employees to build it for you counts as a pre build? i was too scared of fucking something up
I have this weird problem with my computer. It's getting really slow and I'm constantly looking at it to see if there's a problem. All this can keep me from working on anything else really. I'm not really able to get work done any more. What am I going to do?
It's a very sad situation and it's especially frustrating because at least my computer can take full advantage of the new computing environment. This technology has come into the picture because we are all starting to develop our own digital entertainment experiences.
When you were a boy you just had a video-game console to play on and you could spend hours online. What you were getting was a virtual reality experience. Now, with all the technology that you can do the video games and everything that you're creating with software and the web now it's getting to be more and more realistic and it's coming out and I just think that you're going to have a more immersive experience if you are online and that is what we are going to see.
But the issue isn't just limited to the computers, video game consoles and consoles for gaming, too, she says. There will be more and more TV experiences.
Just in the year 2000, the TV experience was like 10 years old. At that time there were no TV sets, no Internet, nothing that could do the gaming.
Actually I find they usually have shitty PSUs
>amazon has free shipping
Wow. It's already cheaper for shipping.
>pcpartpicker.com has a compatibility filter
Well, there goes that issue right out the window.
>small issues that crop up
Yea that can happen if you get bad ram or ram slots but it's not extra money to return something. I get all my stuff from microcenter which will take back anything as does amazon.
>send your whole PC back to get "fixed" that will take a month
vs
>send back a bad ram stick and still use your pc until it comes back
None of the "issues that crop up" are super common or hard to figure out.
Prebuilts come with shit PSU and usually shit motherboards and the price is higher. Every component that you buy for a PC has a fucking warranty, user. Your super special warranty is the same as any other manufacturer warranty you just don't deal with them directly which takes waaaay fucking longer.
Up until the 8400 the difference is basically non-existant. Yes, If you want to game in 4k 60 FPS with the highest settings you need the newest hardware. If you are comfortable with 1440p highest or 4k medium settings, you dont need to rush to buy the newest CPUs and graphics cards. And that is 99.9% of the people. Yet all these faggot reviewers will create these artificial benchmarks with settings that make absolutely no difference but lower your fps by 30%. This whole bullshit of
>Is the 1660 the PERFECT 1080p card
needs to stop, makes me want to kill myself. The LITERAL POINT of PC gaming is that you can adjust the settings to get the perfect experience whether you care more about your FPS or prettier graphics.
Yet the moment there is some bechmark, suddenly every reviewer becomes a literal retard who just blindly put everything to the max 16X and decides its not enough because it dips under 60 for 2 scenes of a game.
If you are too dumb to configure a game just stick to consoles honestly.
And I'm telling you, the start of next gen there will be headlines with
>DUDE 4K RESOLUTION 60 FPS
and everyone will forget that console uses medium and high settings.
Nevermind a 2 year old card can already output similar performance, but because we need to test on fucking ULTRA settings so nothing is ever enough.
bruh moment
>gaming laptop AND alienware
lord help this man
Yes, but thats the good kind of pre-built. You still show interest in your tech, but you also get professional advice and don't have to deal with some minor annoyances related with building it yourself. And they also usually charge a reasonable price since they offer that service to compete with larger stores.
Alright I decided to give pcpartpicker a go. This is what I have so far but it's telling me "Warning! Some Intel Z370 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Coffee Lake Refresh CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions."
Should I be worried or no? Is there a better motherboard I can use for this CPU
You're video was retarded because the GPU was the bottle neck. Remove the GPU bottleneck and you will see far greater differences than your 5% out-of-your-ass number.
Yea, a z390 mobo that was designed for a 9900k memechip.
>You're video was retarded because the GPU was the bottle neck
Devs have to release their game on a 2011 netbook CPU, literally every single game this generation only have a GPU bottleneck.
Lowering the settings to increase framerate will show you the cpu bottleneck. Like, running it in a lower resolution. The video just shows the 1060 isnt a very strong gpu and can be matched up with and old not very strong cpu.
>my sex slave
>he only has 8 gb of ram
Alright Yea Forums I think I got it all figured out. Now I just have to wait to get a better job that isn't part time minimum wage
"research parts", if you're retarded yes. In that case you can also just use pcpartpicker to check for any major problems between components.
Doesn't take a genius to realize that an ATX board won't fit in an micro ATX board or that you need a motherboard that supports socket 1150 if your CPU is socket 1150.
>built-in benchmark
You're autistic. If you think an i5 2400 with 4c4t is anywhere neare as capable as a current gen i5 or somewhat older gen i7 you're retarded, good job cherry picking tomb raider.
>paying for windows
>paying for office
You can get Win10 keys for much cheaper on keyseller sites. Also what are you going to do with 32gb?
Why would you lower the settings or the resolution? your scenario is as artificial as it gets.
The GTX 1060 is still a perfect card for 1440p and even 4k if you dont aim for 60 fps
>paying 1.3k on a gpu
>pirating software
Look nigger a 2400 doesnt hold up with an 8400 in anything other than tomb raider 1080p which runs like shit on everything. Its a cherrypicked scenario and youre an insufferable dolt.
Wait for Ryzen 3000 series.
Get a NH-D15.
Get a 860 EVO.
Avoid Seagate HDDs, get a WD Blue.
Remove windows, pirate enterprise windows instead.
all these games run 60fps/1080p on my 1060 card (a $200 card for reference)
get fucked shitposter
It is not cherry-picked. If you actually watched the video you would see there are other games in it, including Battlefield.
I never claimed it holds up 1:1 and good for 4k and the highest settings. But for a 7 year old CPU, it holds up perfectly and still viable for the vast majority of people.
It is reasonable to upgrade, and I would never advise anyone to buy it now obviously. But buying the newest shit every year and claiming a 4 year old CPU is "outdated" is just retarded OCD driven consumerism
>conosle
>Gayming
Unbranded are sometimes fine as they are just PCs built at the store. Some offer building services if you bring the parts too.
Alienware and CUK King have very good components, the problem is they charge about $300-$600 more than the cost of just building it yourself.
I've started buying prebuilts simply because I'm too fucking lazy to go through the sweat of putting in a new CPU.
Used, yes. You can buy a mid-range PC extremely cheap these days
Just buy a dell and add a gpu
Thanks for the advice user appreciate it
Reported to supo hope you get asschecked.
Is this supposed to be impressive for a 8 year old CPU? That is almost a decade old.
And look at those numbers from an user standpoint. There are no cases where the 2600K would drop below 60 Fps but the 9700K would provide more than 120/144. (Which should be the breaking point, relevant for the people with high refresh rate monitors)
Every game listed is completely playable on both. I never claimed that pairing a 2019 freshly released high end card with a 8 year old CPU is a good idea. My point is, the difference is not that big, it does not justify the fear mongering people have about their hardware becoming outdated because its 3-4 years old.
>improved airflow
Also NVIDIA will refresh the RTX line to add Micron faster GDDR6, it makes no sense to currently buy a RTX GPU (It never did but now even less).
Dead thread,
>480gb ssd
>2TB hdd
>32 ram for gaming
>i9 for gaming
>more money spent = more raw power!
lmao fucking cuck
Pcs too expensive
PCs can be cheap if you want.
A good PC that can run games properly (and better than consoles) is $250-300.
it's a good investments though
i use my pc every day
if you're looking at midrange then yes prebuilts can be cheaper since many of these assemblers will have parts cheaper than you can buy them. If you're looking for top-end high demand parts then no.
If looking for a high-end prebuild the best value is probably Alienware but you're still paying an extra $200-$500 extra. Thing is in benchmarks these high-end prebuilts will outperform many self-build PCs with the exact same parts because of hardware optimization. Most people who assemble their own PCs suck at it.
please show me a build that can run games similar to an XBO or PS4 that you can build for $300.
Computer services are extremely overpriced since most people are scared of PCs and don´t want to get their hands into them because of the fear of fucking something up
Thinkcentre M92p with 8GB RAM and I5-4570 $120-140.
RX 570 $120-180.
DRAMLess SSD $28.
>The Verge
>Made by retards
>For retards
This is just blowing it way out of proportion. There are websites that autodetect compatibility issues for you. Amazon prime exists. I built one for the first time last summer and it was really simple.
Get a Z390 chipset board
and you're really going to pair a $500 processor with a $25 cooler? At least look at Noctua 14S.
If you're going to buy a high end processor don't skimp with the surrounding shit. Also that's a high power setup so I would go with a 750 watt PSU gold-rated, minimum 600watt. Many novice builders skimp on the PSU, don't.
There are a lot of used prebuilt pcs around 300 bucks with i5 4x-5x and RX 570 caliber cards and SSD that putperform the PS4 at least two times.
Mid-range PCs are extremely cheap, it is only the absolute top that gets expensive. just look around at ebay
He has a slight lisp, its really annoying to listen to.
>Installed CPU last
Just disgusting
I try to upgrade in cycles. My new b450 mobo should hold up for at least 8 years, and 16gb ram should be good for at least 5 and then i just get another 8gb stick. SSD will be fine until its time to ditch the 2tb hdd i have. CPU should be fine for 5-6. GPU i try to cycle out every console gen, so next year.
Tl;dr
>GPU at the end of one console gen and start of next
>cpu, mobo, and ram get mid-gen upgrade if necessary. Usually just a RAM stick
You dont need $2000 to top console performance. $600 and you're golden unless the next gen involves some serious shit.
>Corsair or Gskill 8x2gb ram
>case with fans built in. Doesnt need to be a full case, midsize is fine.
>b450 tomahawk
>rx580 if budget
>thermaltake 650w psu
>ryzen 2600-2600x
>Win10 key on ebay
>m.2 ssd 500gb + 1tb hdd (optional, or splurge for the 1tb ssd)
All together can be bought on Newegg for around $600 and can be used for much more than just consoling. Wont let you do super dual screen 4k@60fps ultra gaming, but thats a great budget build that will hold up for some time.
interesting but highly doubtful. Are those used prices (except SSD)?
Also doubt there's enough power for an RX570 and you'd need a different case.
You can buy used desktops for cheap, that's easy. you can buy a 5-year old used desktop with an old i7 and a gtx 780 for under 300, but no way could you buy new parts for that cheap.
Thinkcentres from the p series use a 450-500W PSU because they were made for CAD so they used to come with Quadro cards.
Thinkcentre price is used.
RX 570 is $120 new, the card is really cheap in general:
newegg.com
newegg.com
etc.
Also SSDs have been really cheap since this year started, for example you can get a 1TB SSD for $80-100 this days:
pcpartpicker.com
>but no way could you buy new parts for that cheap.
You could but you would have to cheap out in a few things to the point a used computer would be better.
2200G($99) with a cheap ASRock motherboard(Pro4 for $68), EVGA 450BT for $22-30, 1TB HDD for $40, $40 case (Corsair 100R) and 2x4GB 3000MHz RAM another $50.
Based
If that were true custom loops with gayming LED disco lights inside the case wouldnt be a thing.
Same.
Cept mine exploded, started a small fire and fried my mobo.
Scared the fuck outta me, made me save up and actually build my own, been running smooth for years now.
well definitely not a quality setup but there is a way! good find user.
>pre-built office desktop with a midrange GPU slapped in it
yeeep
Nah boomer tier would be C2D with a overclocked Q6600 or a Q9550 and a modern low end GPU.
Quality bait, thousands of guaranteed replies
>used to focus on rgb gaymer gear to look cool
>now build specifically to have the least amount of lights
i want to make my first pc and i have 1k and a maybe a few hundred more to drop on it. what are some good builds or where can i learn how to build?
are you doing 1080p or four kay?
absolute cringe
Wait for Ryzen 3000 this July 7 (it was already announced, this is the date when they will be sold).
Wait for E3 to choose a GPU.
Motherboards are a bit hard to choose, TLDR avoid ASRock and Gigabyte and wait for the new ones.
SSDs: get a 860 EVO or a SU800.
Stoarge: Avoid Seagate HDDs, get a WD Blue HDD.
PSU: Get a EVGA G2 or G3 PSU, or a Seasonic PSU, avoid Corsair PSUs.
Case: Get a ATX case of your liking.
Heatsink: Get a NH-D15, avoid watercooling(Expensive, loud, inefficient).
RAM: Get any 3000MHz RAM in pairs of two, example 2x4GB.
> le nobody meme XD
Fucking kill me
you meme but this is a very viable budget solution. used dell optiplex with core i7, 8gb ram, 1tb hdd for only $150-200 on ebay. slap in a gtx 1060 or better and you got yourself a 1080p60fps gaming machine for only $300.
Cool, but you will have a hard time to upgrade your GPU cuz it has been customized and attached to that system. Have fun!
The 1060 was replaced by the 1660 long ago user.
Cant build so I have to select parts of a list and hope it works out. I tried to clean my pc once. Never again. Only the filters from now on. My pc is from 2012 since I am scared of ordering a new one. I think my current one is dying. A thunderstorm is coming so I have to turn it off again. Maybe it will work tomorrow? I have an awesome life at 35.
user you just parts together, and cleaning a PC only needs a compressed air can.
