>Won't be available for download
>Not even for owners
If it wasn't a shit game, I'd commend piracy. What a fucking retarded thing to pull.

>oneangryshill

I know ross, no game left behind no matter how shit
but I really want to forget this game was ever made
good riddance

And nothing of value was lost

Its definitely no loss, but its just bizarre they're outright deleting it from existence and not letting people who did buy it, for whatever reason, download it.

>one seething tranny

THIS IS THE FUTURE WE CHOSE

How the fuck it's that legal
Are they offering refunds?

>even for owners
And this is why I prefer steam.

>The delisting of Minecraft: Story Mode and the removal of Telltale’s catalog from GOG is due to the studio shutting down. Telltale sadly began to close down last year, with many of its games disappearing from online stores soon after.

Calling BULLSHIT, GOG is full of games from companies that haven't existed in 15 to 20 years

>Even for owners

This won't effect Steam I assume, right?

It's obviously because no one is there holding the data in a server. It literally doesn't exist to download from.

>Not even /pol/baiting and you still can't refrain from being a faggot

It shouldn't since steam has a reputation to keep of this kind of thing not happening, if somebody can actually get gabe to take notice he would put a stop to it.
But it's hard to get gabe to take notice of shit these days.

Telltale is fucking retarded and made it so the launcher is just the engine and assets, the actual story needs to be downloaded from Telltale servers and I'm guessing they've never given that part up to these other companies.

Maybe GOG doesn't see it as profitable.

holy fuck
making backups asap

>Even for owners
Isn't that literally illegal

Here in lies the problem.

If you're a PS4 owner like me and play your TellTale games on there, you're fucked. The PS4 doesn't have enough memory to hold a big library of games, so basically you just have to delete whatever game you beat months ago and is just collecting dust, and then download it later and deleting something else when you want to play it again. With this happening though, you're fucked. You HAVE to keep it downloaded on your system, constantly taking up space. So now I have to permanently have all these TellTale games taking up space on my PS4 and can't delete them to make space or risk losing them forever. REAL FUCKIN NICE

Wow Based Phil

>story mode
I'm sorry. What?

This can’t be fucking happening bros

Oh
Well then steam might be shit out of luck as well. They won't remove the listing though.

Just a bait title, read the actual article.

>this is a soft prod at people's willingness to accept that YOU DON'T OWN PRODUCT
Sad, and more people should be upset.

whatever you're thinking this game is, the actual thing is probably far worse.

Hey guys remember Darkspore

What does this have to do with Minecraft? Am I replying to a bot? If not, I'm pretty sure it's in the PS4 terms of service that if you buy a game, it's linked to your account forever and you can download it whenever regardless of what drama the dev/publisher pulls. Otherwise Sony should refund you.

If this isn't the case then Steam really got consoles beat in this regard.

I accept that on steam I can easily crack their DRM. The only issue is stuff with online components (this where it needs to DL from a server for a single player game), or DRM where each update is difficult to crack (denuvo).

I don't buy games like that, but I'm fine with the others. It keeps shareholders happy that there is DRM, while not actually providing DRM protection.

people will defend DRM

>“So if you own either season of Minecraft: Story Mode on Microsoft Windows, macOS, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Android, or iOS, you have until June 25th, 2019 to download the episodes. We’d recommend checking you have all the episodes downloaded!”

It implies that you'll lose access to it if you don't own it, because seasons are bought in bulk.

It's a licensing issue, I'm guessing.

yeah it was worth a torrent

>It is extremely likely that more Telltale titles will be pulled from other digital storefronts in the future, due to licenses expiring and various other reasons, so if you’re looking to pick up a digital copy of a Telltale title, don’t delay

I'm more pissed that we're never getting another TWAU game

>telltale
who cares

STOP KILLING GAMES

Is it just because it's telltale game or is there some other reason why?

Although I can see it causing a policy change at steam requiring that valve be given the files for games that need to be externally downloaded for this sort of situation. 0

it's a real fucking embarrassment of a game
they probably want to forget it ever happened

It stays in your library forever but you can delete it and re-download it from the Playstation store whenever you want. If this happens, it won't be on the Playstation store, so it'll be impossible to re-download it. So yes, you would have to keep it downloaded or risk losing it permanently.

Welcome to digital sales, Yea Forums. We warned you.

2 questions

- What the fuck is this game?
-How did Telltales fuck up so badly they had to kill themselves? I tought their games sold well

Why should oneangrygamer get preferential treatment and be fine to spam all day every day even though it'd be totally unacceptable with any other site?

Are you retarded? This is literally the exception lmao, so many dead companies keep their games on online stores and are downloadable / pirateable, shut the fuck up you mongoloid.

>Just a bait title
Of fucking course! Seriously fuck that site.

I mean, I'm not doubting you, but was it that bad that even minecraft kids didn't like it? Minecraft seems like the brand you can slap on amything and print money.

Good riddance.

Thats not the point retard, the jew isnt posting political bait which isnt something to be mad about

>How did Telltales fuck up so badly they had to kill themselves? I tought their games sold well
their games had diminishing returns, the old walking dead was a massive fucking hit but people stopped buying the newer ones when it became clear that your choices don't actually matter and every single game is the same exact thing in a different skin. plus they expanded too much too fast and ended up with way too many employees. there are good articles about the whole death of telltale out there.

seething tranny incel NEET cope

>they expanded too much too fast and ended up with way too many employees.
The is what kills devs and publishers. I remember Black Isle doing this too right as they gunned for the console market.

Expensive ass liscences like Batman and Game of Thrones. and only The Walking Dead season 1 and Minecraft Story Mode sold well.

They hired too many people to make a point and click games using existing expensive IPs.

But I am not mad about the OP being /pol/ bait, because it's not. I am however mad with OP spamming Yea Forums every single day, and keeps shitty clickbait and or outright incorrect articles.
Fucking hell your blog is fucking awful. Get your shit together, be less trigger happy, and stop spamming, and your site might actually be respectable. As it is, it most certainly is not.

Let me give you a brief summary.

>TellTale makes TWD
>It's a smash hit
>They get confident and spend a shit ton of money making tons of other games
>They dont sell
>They lower the price until its dirt cheap
>They start selling slightly but they also get pirated very easily
>Some even just watch the game on youtube since choices dont matter besides a couple different cutscenese
>TellTale decides now is a good time to hire a shit ton of employees and revamp the company and go big or go broke
>They start working on and spending money on other titles that aren't TWD
>Titles go out
>Nobody buys
>They go broke
>They put out TWD Final Season as an all or nothing
>It's already too late and even WITH the sales from TWD, they're in the negative
>They go bankrupt and have to close up shop

Basically, they made one hit game and tried to get rich quick, and shot themselves in the foot

libtard spotted

This specific article OP posted isn't clickbait or inaccurate so your point is moot.

What the fuck are you even talking about, lol.

should have stuck stuck with sequels to SCUMM games, would have at least kept them afloat.

>b-but the future is d-d-digital!!!!!!

already played and beat it
pig was great, everything else was dogshit

Fucking THIS. Even if licensing issues prevents them from selling the game any further, practically removing the game entirely from customers who don't have it downloaded is a scummy move. That would be like you buying a copy of a movie and all of a sudden somebody bursts into your home because the movie sales stopped just to take away your copy. It's like, what the hell? This shit is a scummy anti-consumer practice that literally makes you lose faith in digital distribution and makes you more likely to pirate in the future. Might as well, this just means that there's no guilt involved in pirating the game since they can't argue over lost sales anyway with this.

Once streaming inevitably becomes the norm for video game content, this will be a regular and banal occurrence. Welcome to Hell.

Wish we at least got a LOOM sequel before they started shitting out walking sims.

STOP
KILLING
GAMES

>The PS4 doesn't have enough memory to hold a big library of games
It does if you're not a giant retard. You can upgrade to a 1TB drive for cheap

Do you have/can i find a source on that? That's odd as hell, I've only heard of Tony hawk pro skater 5 pulling shit like that (the game disc only contains a demo, you have to download the rest of the game as an update)

Future's gonna be great.

Attached: 1531303367992.jpg (660x350, 39K)

They collapsed in on themselves by making The Walking Dead multiple times, but with different coats of paint. Licenses are expensive and their one-hit-wonder was exactly that, the other games didn't sell.

Stevebros... we got too cocky....

Are you fucking stupid?
I mean, I am guessing you are a grown adult male, who has been playing videogames for 20 years, and you are still this goddamn ignorant when it comes to videogame licensing and copyright?

No. Games like PT and alphas/betas are removed and can never be reinstalled. I assume the same thing will happen with telltale's games.

You usually don't pay for those things.

Vidya streaming is gonna flop so hard that nobody sane in the industry will ever wanna touch services like Stadia ever again. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY wants to deal with input lag of that degree.

It probably work for mobile games tho

the input lag is fairly low if you have a good connection

Normalfags just do what they are told
Even if PS5 and Xbox are both streaming only, then they'll still buy them because "I NEED MUH FIFA"

that's what they are banking on, that phone posters will pay for streaming gameplay in 144p.

that's the problem, good connections are spotty. and it's not worth it to lots of people to pay to get "good" internet only to have fits of shit connection to deal with, on top of a subscription service to games you can't own.

There's an incredibly large difference between removing a teaser of a game that may or may not ever actually come out vs removing a full and completed title that cost you $59.99 plus tax.

Are you? Because there's plenty of licensed IPs that expired yet their games are still available digitally if you already owned it. It's called a grandfather clause you mongoloid and why you can still download shit like Poker Night at the Inventory 1 and 2 on Steam if you purchased it prior. Or even Friday the 13th the game, despite that IP being in legal hell. is probably the real answer here.

Does the same go for all other games? I still haven't played the Wolf

There's plenty people dealing with it in Fallout 76, which has like half a second delay before registering a hit to an enemy

Is it the third arc? I remember watching arc 1, the wither storm+ world hopping and arc 2: the one with the admins

I don't even play minecraft or telltale games but i will pirate it after 25 just to make owners seeth.

How has OAG not been blacklisted? Billy spams his shit here every single day.

Certainly it is not a decision gog can legally make, otherwise they would keep the game in the catalog like they did with many before. If you need to blame someone, then blame the faggots at telltale.

Google will kindly bring fiber cables to everyone out of the kindness of their heart, also the fact that they will be able to cement their absolute monopoly over so many things. With games as a service taking off, they will control people's lives if they control the streaming of content.

Isn't it on Netflix? Why everyone freaking out?

Well, there was a time when linking to Kotaku was a bannable offense. Now? Not so much. I guess the do-it-for-free league has become lax with moderation lately.

He is literally right tho

That's like every MMO ever, the game is rendered locally with all the assets and whatnot, but because it's an online only game tied to servers it's precisely why the game lags. This kind of shit may be fine for a multiplayer game that is NOT at the quality level of FO76, but I wouldn't want to be playing games like Dark Souls or Doom using that kind of architecture.

You fuckin retards, it's literally on Netflix why would you want to download it?

>What does this have to do with Minecraft?
The game their talking about is the TTG Minecraft game, not Minecraft itself.

Yeah that was a great time and then they decided to reverse it. What a fucking shame because kotaku shills here too.

You're retarded.

Holy shit

>How did Telltales fuck up so badly

They hired woman, thats the only thing you need to klnow

tell tale movies are like $25 max at release, $10 in a few months

I bet even the font triggers you, hahaha.

Can you even pirate it? I doubt scenes figured out how to do that.

Streaming will flop harder than VR. It is the absolute PEAK of out of touch corporate suits not understanding their userbase.

Physical copies will stop working too, retard.

Its literally clickbait

That is what you hire a guy who killed his wife.

Your physical copy won't work either, mongoloid.

>this game cant be downloaded again on your 360 even if you bought it

Just found out about this today. You didn't delete yours did you Yea Forums? anyone with the PS3 version, is it the same for that?

Wait what? Has MS literally removed licenses? Will people not be able to redownload Scott Pilgrim soon?

This is why Digital copy is fucking shit

Reminder that even when EA pulled their games from Steam all owners could still download and play them forever.
Telltale went full retard keeping the actual files on their servers and only giving GOG the installers for their launcher.

>it won't be on the Playstation store, so it'll be impossible to re-download it. So yes, you would have to keep it downloaded or risk losing it permanently.

This is false. On PSN we have a seperate section called "purchased" that lists EVERYTHING on our account. For example, Tekken 2 is no longer on the PSN PAL store for purchase but i literally redownloaded it this year. Same with Scott Pilgrim vs the world. If you bought it. Its yours.

Are you retarded?

PS3 owner here. I can download Scott Pilgrim as often as i like and did so just this year.

mspoweruser.com/gog-is-removing-all-of-its-telltale-games-2/
GOG said Telltale games will stay in your account.
Has something changed?

>How did Telltales fuck up so badly they had to kill themselves?
they got woke

Was a shit game anyways.
I hated Telltale Games anyways, they all played the same and looked the same.

>How did Telltales fuck up so badly they had to kill themselves?
Easy, people called it half a decade ago: extreme overconfidence and no attempt to innovate.

Telltale hit it big with Walking Dead, bigger than everything they'd done prior combined, and they became the dominant point and click/adventure/episodic game devs overnight by far. They decided to buy into like 9 different IPs at once and try to take a team that took years to make one game, make a dozen in the same time span. Each one became the same shit over and over again, the formula stopped working, yet they kept trying to get more licenses. Eventually they ate themselves to death more or less, trying to do way too much at once while riding off the success of one and only one game.

Literally nothing else after TWD season 1 turned a profit aside from a very, very small profit (like a few hundred dollars, seriously) on the Minecraft game, but only then because it was bottom-barrel budget to begin with.

Not to mention the TWD formula they clinged to was a one-and-done deal. Once people experienced it, they knew what was coming next. Every game afterward made it increasingly obvious your choices didn't matter at all, and it was all rigged from the start.

Basically, look at the rise and fall of any one hit wonder band or actor and you can translate it almost beat for beat with Telltale.

Just buy an external harddrive you fucking retard

>recognizing the website design
RENT FREE

I'm pretty sure you download Telltale episodes from PSN store, not from some Telltale's dead server

>-How did Telltales fuck up so badly they had to kill themselves? I tought their games sold well
The original CEO stepped down, and the co-founder, Kevin Bruner, who everyone hated and described as a sociopath took over as CEO.
He immediately restructured the company and forced them to work on four different projects at once while ALSO doing side projects. This created the endless crunch time that made the news, and they started shitting out episodes as fast they can regardless of quality just to make the deadlines. All the while they kept accepting more big name licensing agreements that hindered them by how fast they could make them (because of having to do back and forths with the license holders) and were so expensive that the games were barely profitable. Kevin was voted out by the board of directors and the original CEO appointed some guy from fucking Zynga to take over. Unfortunately by then it was too late and Kevin had destroyed the company and the Zynga guy couldn't save it. Then Kevin filed a lawsuit claiming he wasn't kept informed about Telltale's financial status so he could sell his shares in advance. They died three months later.
