What do you guys think if the overworld had music (no shit) and when a battle starts, it's the same song but just a more tempoed and intense version? If I can figure out how to make the transition so that the battle theme continues from the same spot where the overworld song was playing at, I think that would be cool

I was surprised to find out that some of the tracks were basically rearrangements of other songs (Stan's theme is "Go Tell Aunt Rhody", the music of the drinking contest is "Blow the Man Down") but even then the main theme of Monkey Island is one of the best.

Literally every part of this game is designed to make you feel good. The way the music changes subtly as you go around the world map is based, and none of the OST rips really capture it very well

Skies of Arcadia was one of the first games I can think of that changed the boss music depending on how well you were doing.
The final boss music in that game is so goddamn uplifting. The game is just dripping with positivity and hype the whole time, and it's incredibly infectious. Once you've got him on the ropes and the music changes to signify your trimph by echoing the main theme of the game (@ 1:50), it basically just turns the remainder of the fight into a victory lap.
