Be honest, there's a small part of you that enjoys it

I really like the branching paths, one of my favourite aspects is you just want a 3D Sonic game, just play it like one - ignore enemies and head straight for the goal. The plot even just stays as “Hedgehog vs Eggman”, and the lasts stage in that path is kino, again you can just rush towards the end but you can also experiment and destroy the security cores, which changes the entire level.

It’s a shame it’s the only level where the moral path you take actually changes it.

this game was the coolest shit in the world to me when it first came out and was one of my favorite games. i need to go back and play it honestly i've been getting such nostalgia for it. i don't care how poorly it aged. the day i saw Shadow holding a gun and acting edgy still sends tingles down my spine because i honestly did not expect that at all from Sega. imagine if Nintendo did something similar.

It's 326 different combinations IIRC
The game only takes less than 2 hours to complete once if you really know what you're doing, which considering you're going to beat it over 300 times you'll basically be a speedrunner at that point
I only did about 150 myself but I did and still ldo love this game.

Looking back trust me, I'm not to proud of the achievement. I was just a kid wanting to play some vidya. Nothing else to worry about other than homework so I had all the time in the world afterwards. One of the few games I 100% on gamecube along with P.N.03, Sonic Adventure 2 (I actually got green hill zone) and a few others

Other than going to school I did not have much to do. Only really had 1 friend so I barely left my house to socialize. If my parents were not dragging me to places I'd stay home and just play whatever (little) vidya I had. When I would go to my one friends house we would either NetBattle in BattleNetwork 3 or play multiplayer Tales of Symphonia in that one dungeon that was inside a book or some shit.

As ridiculous as it was I did enjoy the gameplay. Optional story paths that made replaying levels worth it. Also the good and evil options made it fun.

Here's the gist of it. ShTH is a great PLAYING game trapped with shitty level design and awful tone.
I think the story can be "so bad it's good", but the mission structure can't be saved by that metric.

i will always remember seeing that commercial in my bed for the first time. i just got up and was like no fucking way. shadow is getting his own game holy FUCK. i got all A ranks in this game and unlocked expert mode. even my two other friends, who weren't sonic fans got the game, which was fucking weird.

i remember playing it at my friends house and his older goth sister and boyfriend were watching me play. literally did not say anything to me but were like "is that shadow? with a sword?" and they were giggling and shit. fucking uncomfortable honestly.

I'm fucking glad this game exists. OW THE EDGE and Shadow the Hedgehog in general has made the world a lot more entertaining place.
