Dragon Warrior 1/2 on the GBC was the first non-pokemon jrpg I ever played and when they ported 3 over it was my shit for a long time. Loto / Erdrick has a special place in my heart but honestly if he's not in I'd rather get Slime

After Cloud, it isn't a fucking stretch to say that their most popular character is Sora. And SE is a fucking wildly popular company. To the point that a friend of mine bought a 3DS with Smash just to buy the fucking Cloud DLC, because of how much a fucking FFfag she is. It makes sense to me why Nintendo would want to feature another character from SE. But well, E3 is around the corner. I'm thinking this time character 2 will be announced and included the same way Ryu, Roy and Lucas were in the last game.

Since it's just for marketing, then yes, XI Hero is fine. I could name dozens of characters would would be more interesting to play, but if it has to be a hero, then any of them will work. Which is why they should just have alt costumes with 8 different heroes.

Also, the point they're making is he can't wield the Dragon Sword because of a plot point. And his gimmick is befriending monsters. Both things would make him hard to implement as just a palette swap. He'd need to be his own character like Pokemon Trainer.

You won't get to dick down Gemma anyways even if you keep going so don't worry. Marrying Gemma is the most uneventful thing in that game. Literally the only thing that happens is you're suddenly married, she calls you honey and shit and stands in your house. No special cutscenes or anything.

He's easily one of the shittier looking DQ protagonists. If we can't get Erdrick then at least 8 or 1 would be better choices.

He uses whatever weapon you bother to equip him with in game. Would it make more sense fo him to have a boomerang since it's usually the first weapon you buy to make early monster encounters easier?

Also I'm not sure about other versions, but in the DS version his ultimate weapon (besides a metal king sword) is the dragon rod, a wantd/staff which casts Puff! when used as an item.

Honest to God, I would be happy with literally ANY fucking Dragon Quest hero post-3 except for DQ6. Erdrick and the DQ1/2 heroes are so much uglier than the rest. DQ8 would be the best pick.

Erdrick is more than your normal sword boy, faggot. He can shoot lighting, fire, use air attacks, and would have a counter.

There's so many anime swordsman because Sakurai makes every character fit one of four character models. One of which is swordsman. Also because, like it or not, the main characters in most Japanese games tend to be sword wielders. They're not exactly going to put Hakoruru or Billy Kane in Smash Bros, as much as I'd like it.

And slime doesn't fit any of the four character models. So I doubt they'll do that.

Dragon Quest MCs are generally part of different classes than just "generic sword boy". The current Smash Fire Emblem reps (save for Robin and maybe Corrin) are boring as fuck because Fire Emblem generally locks Swordfags out of fun shit like magic and whatnot. DQ heroes always have access to magic, with some of them (such as DQ5 and DQ9) not even being sword-based classes at all.
