I hate both but I hate capeshit even more because it's the same predictable cookie cutter shit of good vs comically evil or le epic wacky so funny super hero for the 99% majority of it, since the writers have certain limitations on the premise of the stories where they can't really go over certain things because they're politically incorrect or controversial, sometimes even used for virtue signalling or for pushing certain political agendas, meanwhile at the very least anime can come up with an interesting story or premise every once in a while.

It is completely reasonable to say "capeshit has nothing interesting nowadays" and yes, to answer your question, I believe "capeshit" does refer specifically to the movies as the phrase originated on Yea Forums to put all the superhero films in a singular category. Unless the term originated from someplace else, but I'm not sure about that. I don't see how that's autistic at all.
I used Watchmen as a good example, but that was before Marvel blew up the MCU and DC pursued their own thingy. I agree that comics can and have told stories that are interesting and complex but the movies are a COMPLETELY different story.
Considering OP has paired his post with an image from a Marvel movie, I think it's safe to assume he's talking about the movies which I definitely would derogatorily refer to as "capeshit."

well then, it's kind of gay to compare a genre of film that has only been around for about 15 years. this franchises need to be firmly established in the collective unconscious before they can do anything interesting. i.e: Logan. Anime/manga/western comics worked the same, comic books from the 30s and 40s are all AIDS, early anime was pretty much MCU films in tv form.

If you go and watch some of the earlier Marvel films like Thor, Iron Man or the first Avengers, the CGI may look slightly worse, but the actual quality of the movies themselves look so much better for some reason. Because young people don't understand intent. Think of the guy in middle school and high school who only listened to math rock or the most underground hip hop they could find. They thought all other music was shit and that only the most complex, the deepest, and most high sophisticated music was the only type of music that could be appreciated. They lose any sort of context for music being played in clubs, at parties, at casual events, or even just among friends.
Video games, movies, and any other type of medium works in a similar vein. Werner Herzog once spoke about the inherent value of what the masses find entertaining. That in and of itself, appealing to a wide audience is special. It's something that not all creators can actually do despite thinking they can. Star Wars has become a mainstay in the cultural conscious and when you break the original trilogy down, none of it was remotely as high brow as say Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal and few people even know of the latter.
Storytelling is much more than just good dialogue, it's just as much experience and spectacle. The MCU excelled at the latter. It's a defining piece of 2010s cinema. Anyone who can't appreciate that is even lower than the lowest common denominator. They are extreme outliers in bad taste.
